I think this is my first 2000-pubbed read?
Found it dragged a lot for the first half. I don't have any sentimental attachment to the SVU series. I had moved past Sweet Valley by the time they were coming out. I've read a handful, own some but not all, and don't have much interest in ever completing the series.
But the Thrillers have always held my attention because I love the mayhem and mystery!
As dull as the beginning was, this book packs a tight final girl horror-esque last act, only to TOTALLY BIFF THE ENDING. I'm not sure how you can have this sort of set-up, promise explosions, have creepy threatening phone calls, and soundless intruders, and then just say at the end.

The hell was that? In this reality Bruce Patman is a wacky prankster and he and Lila have been a couple since high school. Farbs I say!
