Overall I did enjoy this book, however I found it slow at times and it didn't get as deep into the prophecies as I would have liked. I wanted to make sure I read this before Dec 21, 2012 and I did. However now I know that the world will either end or the calendar will restart, not so scary now. What I was pleasantly surprised with was the photography of the Mayan ruins and pictures of Mayan artifacts. I find their history so interesting. It is amazing how much they predicted and with limited tools.

Read this a bit too late, 2013 to 2014, but it was interesting to read of the prophecies and to understand the Mayan worldview and their system of calendars and beliefs. The illustrations are just marvelous.
