There's Something About Pain is Schuyler L'Roux's follow up to There's Something About a Kilt and the books must be read in order.

First, I just want to say that I really enjoy this author’s writing style. I think Schuyler L’Roux has some interesting stories to tell and I’m looking forward to whatever they bring us next. Even though I didn’t love where Thom and Gerry’s story goes in this one, hopefully it will work better for you.

There's no mentioning about the series and this book ended with a major cliffhanger.
The writing was mediocre, and it was like I read the book in the middle of something happened before this, out from no where.

I don't quite know how to say what I want to say about this installment of Thom and Gerry's lives. (Yes, I still giggle at their names.) I was enjoying it for the most part. It reads light, even though there's substance to the story and the characters. I liked that Thom didn't let Gerry slide, he held him accountable, but he listened to the reasons. I don't have a hard time with Gerry's reasoning, it was

"Ger, I don't have to tell you this, do I? Play is like yoga. Only assholes do it in the morning."

- I recieved an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review ~

"There's Something about Pain" picks up where the first book left off - Thom is depressed because Gerry never called, so his friends try to cheer him up by taking him to a bar. Come to find out, the bouncer and the bartender know Gerry, and knows where he works when he's not constructing buildings.

Thom's friends convince him to

Wow. I finished this unsure of what my thoughts are. There is a definite cliffhanger at the end and I'm not sure if it's about the ultimate revenge or something else.

When one night turned into the next morning, Gerry promised he would call Thom. The call never came and Thom hasn't been the same since. When he finds his opportunity to see Gerry again, he is mad. Well, that's an understatement. He wants a thousand apologies and he

Normally stepping in a book 2 isnt an issue but it was with this one. Even if I had read the first book I did not understand the motivation for this book at all. Yes they want to find the big ginger so they can move on and instead we get bdsm and crossfit compared together. Pussy used as an insult many times and while yes having a person who had kink used abusively to their person might find it empowering to be placed in charge that entire last scene did not work. Thom just walks out without a ...more

Oh man, I didn’t expect the ending of this book. I enjoyed this, not as much as the first but I am still intrigued to read the last book. I’m not sure why Thom’s friends thought bring him to LA, where Gerry’s from, was the best place for getting over him but all it does is put them together again. Gerry has a whole bunch of flimsy excuses as to why he never called and it doesn’t help his case in my mind. I was glad that Thom felt more

This is the second book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. After a one-night stand Thom is doing his best to get over Gerry. Can Thom let go over what happened to him previously and take Gerry’s invitation? This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama and great chemistry. I am looking forward to finding out what happens next. A good read.

I was hoping for a follow-up to There’s Something About a Kilt because I knew there was more to their story. Thankfully, my prayers were answered! Unfortunately, things did not turn out the way I thought they would for Thom and Gerry. Gerry never called Thom, and Thom has been down ever since. However, fate's still on their side and Thom learns where Gerry works.

The only thing that lacked for me was the explanation that Gerry gives Thom for not calling. I needed more of an explanation and I

A Southern boy deeply proud of his Welsh heritage, Schuyler L’Roux is a writer who passionately believes in the power of sex—funny, world-changing, scratch-the-hell-out-of-my-back sex. He’s a new author and cannot wait to join the world of erotica with his own brand of thoughtful characters engaged in meaningful interactions and entertaining situations. With lots and lots of sex, of course. When ...more
