One injured dragon.
Four terrified humans.
A group of ruthless Dragon Hunters.

One thing is for sure, nothing good can come from this situation. Several human females are abducted during one of the Bride Hunts. Despite the danger to himself, Flood attempts to rescue the females. How can he not? He is gravely injured for his troubles, and wakes up to find himself in a tiny cell, complete with silver-infused bars. These slayers know exactly what they are doing and will stop at nothing to get what they want…money and lots of it. First they need information on the whereabouts of the dragon lairs. They’re willing to do anything to get it.

Anything…

Paige should’ve trusted her gut. Her first instinct, when she’d seen the helicopter on the horizon, had been to run. Unfortunately for her and the others, she was dead right. She needs to help the injured shifter and must do what it takes to keep them all safe. Even with the odds stacked so heavily against them.

In the second instalment of the Water Dragons series we meet Flood.
Big, brooding and tough as nails. (Delicious, right?)

He enters the Bride Hunt, and instead of claiming a female he gets captured by the Slayers together with 4 women from the Bride Hunt.
The Slayers is an order set out to destroy the dragons.

Paige is one of the captured women, and she tends to Flood because he got badly hurt, when the Slayers captured them.

I found the story sweet, and greatly enjoyed the different setting.
I wasn’t completely sold on their feelings toward each other and struggled a bit with a connection to the characters.
Overall quite entertaining, but did leave a lot to be desired.
Not my favourite, but I did like that they didn’t rush into anything👏

Will I recommend: Yes- it’s a light and uncomplicated kind of book.

Captured Dragon is the exciting second installment in the Water Dragons series, which follows The Bride Hunt series. The story revolves around a dragon who scares women due to his size. However, he soon becomes humbled when a human woman helps him heal after being captured. That's when the fun begins.

While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer. The characters must fight to stay alive, but what they discover is even more significant than they ever imagined.

I love the strong, sexy alpha males in protective roles!

The title says it all!

After the hunters encroached their territory a few months back, it has been quiet! So the dragons decide to have another hunt to win themselves a female. Flood is the closest to the four females when a helicopter approaches them. Trying to not endanger the females more, he stays back hoping they can de escalate the situation, but it turns out worse when him and the four females are captured and taken back to the hunters lair!

A great read, loved Flood and Paige and how they fought for each other, even though their start was a bit more unconventional than the other dragons😍 Looking forward to finding out more about Bay and who this mystery woman is he might have met on the latest Stag run....wink wink 😉

So we are finally getting more information on the Dragon Hunters. Paige is on the Bride Hunt and when she and the other women see a helicopter coming their way. They all know nothing is supposed to be in the air when this hunt is going on. So when a couple of men come out of the helicopter and try to get the women in it, they know they are in trouble.

Flood knows these guys are bad news, so he puts himself in the middle and gets hurt. When the Dragon Hunters take everyone things go from bad to worse.

I liked Paige; she is a strong character and didn't take crap from anyone. Moreover, I enjoyed that.

Not done yet

I have a little left in the book. But after reading all the other books I have to say this is the worst ever. So much i don't care to read more. There are so much stupid parts that it reads bad the store isn't even there it jumps so much and the characters have no real talking. Really disappointed

I love this author, but I'm so sick of reading her uptight prudish woman. The males go off instinct not human instincts. page annoyed me. I just want to read a book of hers where the h is sexually confident, not insecure and honest with her feelings. Love her male characters. Flood was awesome!

I loved it!

Warning: mature sexual content, mature themes, and language.

It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is book two of four in The Water Dragon series.
(Set in the same world The Chosen Series)

One injured dragon, four terrified humans, and a a group of ruthless Dragon Hunter; one thing is for sure, nothing good can come from this situation. Several human females are abducted during one of the Bride Hunts. Despite the danger to himself, Flood attempts to rescue the females, he is gravely injured for his troubles, and wakes up to find himself in a tiny cell, complete with silver-infused bars. These slayers know exactly what they are doing and will stop at nothing to get what they want, which is money and lots of it. First they need information on the whereabouts of the dragon lairs, and they’re willing to do absolutely anything to get it.

Paige should’ve trusted her gut, for her first instinct, when she’d seen the helicopter on the horizon, had been to run, and unfortunately for her and the others, she was dead right. Now she needs to help the injured shifter and do whatever it takes to keep them all safe, even with the odds stacked so heavily against them. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.

Plenty of action and adventure!

We meet Flood and Paige in book two of the Water Dragons series. Unlike the more humorous undertones in book 1, we start out this story with 4 human females being abducted from the Bride hunt shortly after it starts. We have plenty of action and danger going on from page one. Flood comes upon the scene and decides that despite the odds, he has to try and save the women. He is one seriously hot alpha male with a heart of gold. Although gravely injured, he and Paige team up to thwart the Dragon Hunters, save the other women and escape. Paige is a strong, level headed woman that is determined to get them all out of this mess. Despite the danger, she steps in to nurse Flood back to health. The hunters that captured them will stop at nothing to get what they want. It becomes a battle of will and determination. What starts out as a simple team effort to save themselves turns into so much more. The two had some work to do to in order to find their happy ever after. It was awesome to watch them find it!

What I really loved about this book was the instant attraction between Flood and Paige despite all the obstacles and chaos. Charlene Hatnady has an amazing way of giving you so much more than expected in her books! I can't wait to see what book 4 will bring! This was a 5 star read for me.

This books guarantees a HEA. This book does contain strong sexual themes & language.

His ferocious look doesn't make him the Dragon he is.

Wow! Captured Dragon has so much going on and not just the selected dragons finding a female mate. You have to love Flood. He is the one that no one understands nor have they taken the time since he looks vicious and as described by another dragon " always grumpy ". They steer clear of him when he is upset because he can hurt them. Taller than the other dragons, muscular and vicious when he has to protect the clan and their home. The Hunters are after them and trying to find the dragons and their lair to destroy them. They do a good job of it in this book with Flood.
Paige is one of the four women on this run. When they are in danger from the Hunters, Flood tries to save them and in turn the nightmare for them all begins. At first she is afraid of Flood like typically everyone has been but then she senses something in him. Could she possibly be his mate.
There are somethings that Flood does that you can't help but giggle or laugh at. He is a very interesting character. Charlene Hartnady did not let her readers down in this book of the Water Dragons. She has always been a favorite author of mine. This is a definite read especially if you've been following her stories. Loved it.

I received an ARC for a voluntary and honest review.

My favorite of the dragon shifter books by this author!

Love that this book was filled with action!
Paige as well as three other females were out running in the mountains preparing to get caught by a dragon shifter. But all of the sudden they see a helicopter flying towards them. It lands and four men exit. The men tell them that they are taking them.
Flood is a fast runner so he has a large lead on any of the other dragons involved in the hunt. He sees the helicopter. As soon as the men pull guns and try to take the females he comes out to try to stop them or at least slow them down until more help arrives. But he gets shot with silver in the process and taken with the women to a hidden prison.
Paige is a veterinarian assistant so she volunteers to try to remove the bullet and save Flood. They are placed in the cell together.
Many things happen to these characters including discovering that the dragonslayers are the ones responsible for the people hunting the shifters.
I can't wait to find out more in the next book!
I recommend reading any if this author's books but I think this is my favorite of the dragon shifter books so far!

Pretty good!

I don't think it was quite as good as the previous book but I'm still happy with it!! Flood is an absolute doll OMG I just loved the big lugg, when we read about him in the previous book I really wanted to find out more about him I'm very happy she decided to write about him. I didn't really care for the way Paige reacted to Flood begging her to mate with him once he found out that he was excluded from the hunt for punching Tide. I also didn't really care for the way she acted when him and her had to get it on in order to heal Flood so they could make their escape. I know it was a major F'd up situation but the way she kept saying things to Flood like, it has to be done, get it over with , that really irritated me I mean Flood is such a sweet guy she knew he didn't want to take advantage of her anyways that's just my opinion on that matter but anyways all around it was still a good read I highly recommend it!

The big softy giant gets a mate!

Omg this series is the best one I've read so far. I get a good side of angst, humor and some emotional moments in every book so far. This author knows how to keep my interest and this book took me for a ride!

Character breakdown;

Flood: this big softy was great and sweet in the first book. I was looking forward to seeing his story be told and wow was it worth the wait. The way he was described and his actions made me fall in love with this character.

Paige: I liked her, I liked how she still managed to keep her cool and never judged Flood even with his stature. She lost a few brownie points when she said no to him the first time he asked to mate him though. She got half of it back when she ran to him.

I cannot wait to read the next book thank you Charlene for making this series fun to read. Honest to God it gets me every time!

I loved this story of Paige & her friends who are captured by the hunters with the brave Flood who has to try to save them despite the odds.
They are all held captive with Flood in big trouble which is when Paige shows how strong she is to keep him protected while injured.
This gives us a bit more insight into the hunters although they are still an ominous danger to the shifters.
Their relationship moves from a mutual need to survive to “friendship” bringing out their true feelings. A great read that keeps you in to the end & as always you get a touch of previous story characters as it’s always good to see how some of the favourites are doing.
I was lucky enough to be given an ARC in exchange for an honest review & it was a pleasure

This is another amazing continuation to the dragon series. I could not put this book down until it was finished. This is Flood's story. Flood and Paige were an awesome couple, and they couldn't have been more perfect together. Together they find themselves in a difficult position, and they must work together to escape. This book had so much action, and there were several parts that had my heart racing. And of course there were times where I waned to scream at the characters. This is a must read, and I cannot wait until the next book in the series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

Love this series!

Flood is the one that no one understands. A strong soldier that grown men will run away from rather than face his fury. He hasn't had much intimacy as females are few and those around haven't exactly taken the time to look since he looks as vicious as he is large. His turn in the Hunt has finally come and he knows he will capture a female, but will be able to convince her he is more than a warrior.

I loved the way his character was written. Some of the things Flood says, the way he expresses himself, you can't help but giggle or laugh out loud.

Paige was a straightforward thinker and all about being in charge of her future. She kept her emotions on the back burner to focus on the problems at hand. She tried using this tactic with Flood, she never expected to lose her heart in the process. Very enjoyable read and HEA! Happy Reading!

Such an exciting book!
Flood is a big, tough guy with a gruff demeanor that often scares people off. When he sees four women being taken by hunters, he steps in - with disastrous results. Paige is admirable! She is called upon to provide care for a grievous injury, without proper training or equipment. She doesn’t lose her nerve. This is very exciting reading, with ongoing danger and little hope for rescue! When feelings ensue between Flood and Paige, they each have doubts. I love the way this story plays out, with some help from Flood’s friends!

Holy Misunderstanding

Well I really liked Paige. She was very brave and she remained calm and set up an escape plan. She fought back against armed men. She took care of a very wounded Shifter. These Hunters are crazy. They need to get a plan ready and end the Hunt. It's too dangerous for everyone. Flood is very serious. He is put in a very rough situation. Once they finally are free several things go wrong. The King makes ridiculous rulings considering they all need brides. I'm rooting for Bay! Please give that sweet gentle male a fabulous mate!!!

I am certain many of you have already read the Bride hunt series as well as the Program. These books here fall in line with the dragon shifter finding mates. Flood was to be on the hunt and comes across 4 ladies and he wants to help them as the Hunters are on the loose again and taking women hostage to try and uncover secrets. Anyway, Flood finds himself captured as well and all things considered he finds his mate without being on the hunt. What a great book and look forward to the next installment.

During the Bride Hunt, Flood sees the 4 ladies getting kidnapped and tries to help but gets shot by a silver bullet. Flood will die if he doesn't get help as soon as possible, so Paige, a veterinarian assistant tries her best to help Flood. The nasty Dragon Slayers have Flood and the ladies captive with no help in sight. This particular story had a lot of risk and not much happiness but thankfully, Ms. Hartnady saves it with some changes so we get a HEA after all. I look forward to the next bride hunt and seeing who gets their story next.

I enjoyed this one. I liked Flood, I thought he was sweet under the scary. And I really enjoyed Paige. I liked her level head.

I would have liked to have know what happened to the 3 other girls and if/who they ended up with. The biggest issue I have with this author is her lack of follow through on minor story lines she has started in a book, and then dropping them halfway through to never be picked up or mentioned again. It is just frustrating how little we find out about the world around the couple the story is about.

This very exciting action drama kept the adrenaline flowing throughout the entire story. Flood, the Water Dragon warrior, and Paige, a participant in the current bride hunt, meet under harrowing conditions. Working closely together forms a bond that only strengthens the longer they are held captive. Their unorthodox escape plans create all kinds of fireworks between Flood and Paige. This was another fantastic story that ended too quickly. Great, Great, story!!!!!

No fighting

With the odds against Flood he decides to take a risk anyway in hopes of saving the women the hunters have captured. It almost costs him his life but lucky for him Paige is able to nurse him back to health. Stuck in captivity together they get very close. Very good read and got an inside look at how the hunters work and one of the founders. Very curious to learn what is going on with Bay. I hope his story is next.

Captured Dragon (2)

Flood was a big, gruff guy. When he saw hunters taking 4 of the human females he had to try and stop them he was shot with a silver bullet. Paige was a vets assistant and convinces them to let her try and remove the bullet. She stays with him the other 3 women in another cell, all waiting for the boss to arrive, who wouldn't be pleased if he died, she needs him to get better so he can tell her the Dragons secrets

Loving this Dragon world she has created... This one was intense , the hunters in this book are getting more bold. We saw Flood in Dragon Hunt it's his turn to be in the Hunt. He is. Closing in on a group 4 females and he sees the hunters trying to take them Flood steps in even though there are 4 of them. This where it gets good couldn't put he book down

Great read

A thoroughly good read in this spin off series, the Dragon slayers are getting closer and closer to discovering the dragons secrets. In this book Flood is captured along with four females during a hunt he is seriously injured by silver bullets Paige one of the human females helps him and together they organise their escape. There is a lot of drama happening in this book with the human hunters and slayers and romance and love a great read.

Sexy Comes in All Sizes

Captured Dragon by Charlene Hartnady is book 2 of her Water Dragons series. Flood will need all his considerable strength and then some to save the women from the latest Hunt. Slayers are a nasty lot. Good thing Paige is one Hell Of a human. Together they hold the dragons in their hands.
Amazing story filled with excitement, brutality, fear, lust, anger, hurt and love.

Hartnady has a way with words. These books are Amazing! I recommend reading this series, but start with The Bride Hunt Series first.

Pure escapism, fun read

I enjoyed the beginning very much, in fact the first half of the book was great - exciting, fresh and deliciously tense. The latter half, when the location changes, I found predictable and a bit formulaic. Happily it's chock full of great sex and humour as usual.
