“Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light”

In this, the 18th Coffeehouse Mystery, Clare Cosi wakes up in Washington Square Park with no ID, no keys, no phone and no idea how or why she was there at 4 in the morning. Trying to get herself someplace safe, she heads towards The Village Blend, the coffee place she is part owner and manager of. However, she is very disoriented and thinks it’s 15 years earlier than 2019 and she and her ex-husband Matteo Allegro have

BREWED AWAKENING is the eighteenth book in the Coffeehouse Mystery series by Cleo Coyle and wow, if you think the other books in the series have been good, then you’re going to be in for a surprise.

Cleo Coyle is one of those authors that writes on a whole different level than everyone else. Not only are they skilled in narrative, but their plotting and pacing is out of this world. BREWED AWAKENING isn’t just an amazing book; it’s a masterpiece.

Coyle has done something completely different

I think this might be my favorite of all the coffee shop mysteries. Good mystery, good character development with some humor sprinkled in. I liked the way they did it from everyone's perspectives while Claire was suffering from memory loss. Plus, I didn't guess who was ultimately responsible until the reveal! BEST BOOK EVER.

This is book eighteen in the Coffeehouse Mystery series by Cleo Coyle.

This series just rings all the bells for me. Murder by Mocha was my first introduction into the cozy mystery world and I have been hooked ever since. Stepping back into this series is like coming home. So, when Clare Cosi loses her memory we are transported back to a time just after her separation with Matt and her daughter, Joy is still a kid.

It was fascinating to watch the fallout from Clare’s memory loss and how it

Thank you to Net Galley and Berkley Publishing Group for sending me an eARC of this in return for an honest review.

This story is the perfect amount of coziness and suspense! I absolutely loved it. I was anxious for Clare to get her memory back and I loved seeing her open up to Mike. I am a fellow coffee drinker, so the coffee aspect was interesting to read about. It was nice to learn how much Clare loved coffee and the way she would make new blends. The Village Blend seems like a wonderful

It's nice when a long-running series changes things up a little. Brewed Awakening is the 18th coffee house mystery, and I enjoyed it as much as any previous installment and definitely more than the one where we were inside the killer's head. This time, Clare wakes up in Washington Square Park with no memory of the past 15 years, including the past few days after she was snatched up along with a hotel heiress.

No spoilers, but we get a lot more Matteo and lot less Mike than usual, which I

There was something different in the writing style of this book. An almost push and pull between the styles of the writing team of Marc Cerasini and Alice Alfonsi.

What begins with Clare Cosi, manager of the Village Blend waking up on a park bench with no knowledge of how she got there, to recalling the area looked familiar and hopeful she might be able to get help at a coffeehouse where she once worked with her ex-husband, to realizing she has somehow lost about 10+ years of her memories.

This mystery is so compelling I could not put it down!
This book is very tense yet tempered with hilarity!
At the beginning of the book I was worried that the author had jumped ahead and that we were going to be missing out on YEARS of enjoying this series and the wonderful characters.
As it turns out, the one missing years of great memories is Clare. When she awakens, she turns to the safest place she DOES remember, only to have to go on the run with the one man she doesn't remember being her

This new addition to the Clare Cozi Coffeehouse Mystery series is wonderful. It is a top notch book in the cozy mystery genre.

It is a well-written novel that is not a formula type. Yes, you can predict what the outcome will likely be but getting there is an entertaining ride.

The series shows the author's love and knowledge of New York City. The descriptions, particularly of lesser known areas, make you feel like you are there. The characters in the series are as diverse as is the city. They are

I absolutely LOVED this cozy. I cannot believe this is number 18 in the series! I've been reading this series since I was in college.

This book is perfect as a stand-alone or to read in the series. But ---I can't skip! The set up of this book is extremely unique and a exciting change of pace for a long-lasting series.

Clare wakes up unsure of where she is, no keys, no purse and everything looks so different. Once arriving to the Village Blend, she finds out she has been missing for days when

"Brewed Awakening" is a cozy mystery. This novel is the 18th in the series. You don't need to read the previous novels to understand this one, and this story didn't spoil the whodunit of the previous books.

This is yet another mystery where someone with amnesia is a witness and needs to remember what happened. However, the authors focused on how this affected her relationships with the people she still knew and the people she ought to know, including her fiancé. I enjoyed this character

I loved this entry in the coffeehouse series. This one is a bit of a departure from the normal storytelling because it starts with the main character, Clare Cosi, loosing all of her recent memories. Clare and a friend recently went missing and then Clare woke up in a park with no recent memories of why or how she came to be there. As far as she remembers, she is still recently divorced, her daughter is still a little girl and she's never even met her fiancé! She has to get to know her new life ...more

I love this series and the closeness of The Village Blend employees. They are like family and will do everything in their power to help each other out. Clare has gone missing and when she finally reappears days later, she has no memory of the past 15 years or so. This was a refreshing book, and I loved the way the author broached the subject of memory loss. This book was jam packed with suspense, humor, and sprinkled with the delectable explanations of coffee and food. The descriptions of the ...more

This series never lets me down!
Great characters. Enticing story lines. Complex mysteries.
Leading off with the main character having a memory loss of many years is a heck of a start to a story.
Cleo Coyle deftly handles the myriad pieces that go with that start.
Who can she trust? Her ex-husband (who as far as she can remember is recently divorced from her due to his repeated infidelities)? Her ex-mother in law? This police officer who she doesn't recognize at all (but eventually finds out is her

Clare Cosi wakes up on a park bench not remembering the last 15 years of her life including who she is engaged to now. What happened during the last 2 weeks, and who should she trust?
Fun read with awesome recipes at the end.
