Span-Jesus First, Jesus Always: La Vida Que Se Supone Que Debes Vivir
No importa lo que hayas oído de él, te ofrece algo que nada ni nadie más puede.
Si nuestro mundo tuviera un lema, sería "Yo primero, yo siempre" y cuando piensas en la vida que deberías vivir, ¿por qué no te colocarías en el centro de tu propio universo? Tiene sentido y parece mucho más natural.
Pero Jesús Primero, Jesús Siempre se trata de ver la vida a través de una nueva perspectiva. Se trata de vivir la vida no por el concepto de Jesús, sino por la realidad de él como persona. Se trata de dar forma a tu mundo en torno a esa realidad. Se trata de reconocer que él afirma ser el punto alfa del universo, el comienzo de todas las cosas y el punto Omega, hacia el cual toda la historia se precipita. Si él es el primero y el último, entonces ciertamente es todo lo que está en el medio.
Jesús Primero, Jesús Siempre es más que un lema, es una revelación del corazón que se convierte en una revolución del alma. Vamos a ser diferentes que antes. ¿Por qué? Porque él te da la habilidad de mirar más allá de ti mismo y convertirte en un ícono de esperanza para que otros puedan encontrar la gracia al conocerte.

Jesus First Jesus Always. Yes. God's desire for us all and the yearning that He has planted in all of our hearts. But why oh why is it firstly so hard for us to realise it and then secondly once we have, to implement it?
Smith does a good job helping explain the answers to both of those questions. In fact, the answer to the first one really helps make the second one easier to do. There were definitely some of the 10 chapters that I found more useful than others but the ones that grabbed me the most was the discussion on "Purpose" - Chapters 7 & 8 and Smith's little bible study on Romans 8:28-29 was superb. I also liked how he separated 'vocation' and 'purpose' which is something that confuses many of us.
In a church world that is too quick to recruit volunteers for service Smith's book outlines the importance of firstly knowing God and we got to spend the time doing that before diving hands and feet first into service otherwise we really are ill-equipped to do the work.
An important addition to the "discipleship/spiritual formation' library of resources which is getting a lot of focus now (and rightly so)
