The premise of A STICKY SITUATION sounded pretty hot and I was excited to get my hands on this book, but I wasn’t expecting the story I ended up getting. That’s not to say that I was disappointed but I have to admit that this wasn’t my favorite in the ”Awkward Love” series. I would be lying if I said I was not entertained, because I was, but something was missing for me. I never completely felt the chemistry between Hannah and “Brix”. I don’t know that I liked the twist that the author threw into the story.

There were some very funny, extremely embarrassing moments that Hannah gets caught up in that made for some great entertainment. I just was always hoping for more development with the connection between the main characters. It felt like things were rushed and didn’t flow organically between them.

I have really enjoyed most of the books in this series. They’re quick and fun reads when you’re in the mood for something funny and steamy.

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 3.5
Heroine: 3.5
Plot: 3
Angst: 3
Steam: 4
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 4

I have to start out by saying there is a HUGE twist in the story which was strange yet interesting. I for one enjoyed it but I know some other readers didn't like it as much. I'm always up for a game changer, something that makes the story less predictable and that is exactly what Missy Johnson has done here and I applaud her for it.

A STICKY SITUATION is the seventh book in the AWKWARD LOVE series but it can be read as a standalone, as a matter of fact the entire series can be read in any order. I have been reading them as each book has been released and have seen some minor characters from previous books getting their HEAs along the line but that does not mean that they need to be read that way.

In this book we have Hannah and "Brix" and unlikely pair right from the start but their first encounter will leave you in hysterics. I swear I don't know how Hannah always found herself in the most uncompromising positions but it was hilarious.

If you're in the mood for a story that will have you laughing out loud on more than one occasion I say grab this book, heck grab any of the books in the series, you wont be disappointed! Happy Reading!!!

“Shit. I’m late. Come with me if you want? My new job starts tonight.”
“They won’t mind if I tag along?” I call out as she disappears into her bedroom. She comes back out a few minutes later and shrugs.
She shrugs. “It’s just deliveries.”
“Oh, like Uber Eats?” I ask. “Which reminds me. I had an awesome idea for a business. Uber Eats, but with sex toys.”
She gives me a sideways glance. “The random things that come to mind while whacking one out on a rock star’s bed,” she jokes.

“I'll come up,” I decide. “We can call it training for when you give me a job,” I wink. I’m only half joking, too. Knowing I have a Brix free back up plan if I need it makes me feel a whole lot better.
“Like you’d ever give up nursing,” Lou scoffs. “You probably flew out of your mom’s cooch wanting to be a nurse.”
“You’re so crude,” I groan, laughing.
We stomp through the lobby and over to the elevator. The whole ride up, Lou shifts on her feet, nervously watching as each floor lights up. What’s she so worked up over? Aside from the fact that Lou doesn’t get nervous over anything, she’s delivering a bottle of scotch, not about to perform lifesaving surgery.
“Okay, let’s do this,” she mumbles when the doors fly open.
Lou takes a deep breath as she steps out and then loosens the tie on the jacket. My eyes widen as she shrugs it off, because it appears she’s forgotten to put a top on. She tosses the jacket at me, which I somehow manage catch, amidst my shock.
“Lou,” I hiss. “Did you forget something?”
“What?” Then she looks down and giggles. “Oh, didn’t I mention the deliveries are topless?” she casually asks.
“No,” I say flatly. “You didn’t.”
And there goes my back up plan.
She shrugs. “Oh. Well, now you know.”

Well, the hotel was your idea, as was that fricking dildo—”
“Lucky?” she asks, shocked. “Wait, I got that for you on your eighteenth birthday.” She giggles. “What are you doing with that?”
“I use it to swordfight with my imaginary friends,” I snap. “What do you think I do with it?”
“No, I mean I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to replace them after a year,” she gasps through her laughter. “But thanks. Now I have this image of you fighting off a home invader with your big, purple dildo.”

giphy

How about I drive?” he suggests, swooping in and grabbing my keys from me.
“How about no?” I retort. I try to snatch them back off him, ignoring the tingle of my skin when our hands touch. He holds them just out of my reach until I give up.
“I’m not trying to be an ass,” he explains. “You just look like you’re about to fall asleep.” He glances at me again. “You’re in a position most girls would kill for,” he adds.
“You mean driving a Camry?” I say sweetly.
“I meant driving me,” he replies.
I push myself close enough against him so I can position my knee between his legs. I smile as his smirk begins to falter.
“Now you’re in a position most guys would hate,” I tease. “Keys, please?”
He hands them to me without a word.

“You got here awfully fast for someone who had to stop and buy wine,” I say suspiciously.
She rolls her eyes. “Fine, I brought a bottle from home.”
“I paid you eighty dollars for that?” I laugh. I grab it off her. “Lou, it’s open.”
“What?” she protests. “There’s only a little bit gone. Besides, you weren’t paying for the alcohol. You were paying for this.”
With the Macarena blaring from her phone, she flings off her jacket and shakes her breasts in my face, complete with bright pink nipple tassels swinging around in perfect circles. Sasha gapes at her in shock, her expression so alarmed, I can’t help laughing.

This is my first book of this series. I know... It's the last book of said series, but they are all stand alone's though so no biggie!

Its a really cute read! I was honestly very surprised by a little twist in the beginning there and was not sure if I was 100% excited about it, but I hung in there and turned out to be pretty happy with the result.

The story is pretty hilarious with many awkward situations and stumbling moments that are sure to have you cracking up. The MC's, Nate and Hannah, are funny and endearing with lots of chemistry to make the story steamy.

A little Spoiler here people! -

So you find out near the beginning that Brix is an Identical Twin and Hannah is actually spending time with Nate instead. I was kind of hoping for Brix's "issue" to be something a little more interesting than being gay... But, to be 100% honest, I was really only bummed because I really wanted there to be a book for him coming up, but I am not really into MM... so bummer for me I guess!!

Can I just say how perfect this title is? I mean it explains this book perfectly. This is book is full of snarky comments, a rock star who's hiding something and can't stop doing stupid things, a nurse who has her hands full wit family issues. I mean it has a very uncomfortable meet cute, which was majorly awkward if I do say so myself. It doesn't get much better then that. This has a slow burn to it. It takes a while before the relationship even happens. It was a lot of fun to read! I loved Hannah and her friends alot. Brix was a jerk at first but he changes over time.

When you live with flat mates, privacy is not always guaranteed, especially when the bedroom walls feel like they are paper thin. Hannah can’t remember the last time she had a satisfying orgasm and it’s getting to the point of desperation. Her best friend takes pity on her, booking her into a nice hotel for the night where she can enjoy some self love.

Armed with every vibrator she owns, Hannah checks in and cannot believe how palatial her new digs are. Finally alone, she sinks into the ultra comfy bed and just as she is getting in the moment, on the cusp of what she has been chasing, she is once again interrupted. A man is in her hotel room watching the show. OMFG, yes she is humiliated but also, why does it feel like the universe is against her getting some satisfaction?!

Turns out the hotel messed up and the room she is in was already occupied. Not only that he is a VIP rock star. As Hannah flees the room with her dignity barely in tact she can only take comfort in the fact that she will never see him again. She had no idea how wrong that assumption was.

Brix Wilson is the new inpatient at the rehab facility Hannah works at. As luck would have it, she has been assigned as his caregiver. This means she has to practically shadow him and take him anywhere he needs to go, also ensuring he stays on the straight and narrow. The universe is really messing with her right now.

Brix has this larger than life personality and he really enjoys winding Hannah up, after all he does know her more intimately now, he reminds her of that often. She can’t deny that the man is attractive and the tension between them is getting a little bit too intense to ignore. She finds herself wanting to break every rule when it comes to her job and Brix is more than willing to help her do it.

This was another fun instalment in the Awkward Love series by Missy Johnson with a fantastic little twist to keep things interesting. Plenty of laugh out loud moments too.

A Sticky Situation is the seventh installment of the Awkward Love series by Missy Johnson.

Brix Wilson has experiences both pleasure and the horrors of being a rockstar. His life is hectic and full of loving fans. So, when he enters his room finding a beautiful woman self-pleasuring, he did what any man would do, enjoyed the show. Meanwhile, Hannah only wanted a slice of privacy from her sister and niece who are currently living with her. What was supposed to be a nice relaxing vacation, turned into a full gossip column of her pleasuring herself in rockstar, Brix Wilson’s hotel room! Yikes! Thankfully, she’ll remain the mystery women…

Though Hannah’s hope of never facing Brix won’t be as easy.

Oh my god! This book is ridiculous in the best possible way. Sometimes we have to throw our inhibition out the window. Throughout this series, I always find myself laughing, cringing and being thankful my attempts at dating — warranted or not — have not been as bad as her heroines. Though, I can’t say I would mind happy ever after portion. *wink wink* I don't usually enjoy dual point of views, but Missy Johnson has me invested. I enjoy seeing both viewpoints of the characters and the initial reactions as they come to the realization they are in love with each other.

Here is the thing. I am in a huge book funk and no book has managed to completely pull me out. Then A Sticky Situation arrived in my kindle and I honestly thought that this could be the one. The Awkward Love series has been a hit for me and I love these over the top situations. The book started on the right note and everything went well until I completed 1/3 of the book. Up to that point, I was wonder why Hannah was the only one telling the story. Her name was at the beginning of each chapter, so I thought that Brix would also grace us with his point of view. Long story short, Brix is not the hero of the story. Nate, his twin, is. I got to 40% before I decided to stop reading the book and that's why I didn't rate the book with 1-star. The whole premise of the book is a lie. We were promised Brix and we got Nate. If Nate had been pretending to be Brix since page one I would have been 1000% ok with the book, but he wasn't. And it felt weird having Brix be the one who caught her masturbating and then writing on social media about her with a tone that suggested a lot. I am sorry, but I just felt cheated and a little disappointed because this is the lowest rating I have given to the author.

This is the seventh book in this awesome series, but can be read as a standalone. Hannah is caught in an embarrassing situation by rock star Brix. No spoilers; this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written story which is humorous, witty and a sexy read. I was intrigued and hooked throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.

Sticky Situation is book 7 in the Awkward Love series and like always I couldn’t put this book down. Johnson has delivered another jaw hanging tale.

When all you want is some alone time to reach your ultimate goal you find yourself in a fancy hotel room trying to finish what you started; being walked in on by a high-profile celebrity offering to give you a hand is not how Hannah wanted her night to go. Nate was always fixing problems, he didn’t expect this time he would meet Hannah someone who he clicks with and also, he can’t lie to.
Will Nate’s deceit catch up to him and ruin everything?

I highly recommend this book and all of the previous books in the Award Love series, while they are all standalone stories each one is a fantastic read and leave you wanting more when you have turned the last page.

I cannot wait to get my hands on more of Johnson’s work in the future, she has certainly cemented her spot as a fantastic rom-com author.

I swear Missy Johnson writes rom com like nobody! Poor Hannah has so many embarrassing moments I didn't think I could cringe as much as I did. If you need hilarity mixed with some sexy romance, look no further. A Sticky Situation delivers both in the highest degree!

Hannah needs space, specifically her space back. Poor girl is so sexually frustrated having her niece and sister living with her with no privacy she decides she needs a break. That break leads to celebrity headlines and the beginning of the worst job she's ever had. Hannah is witty, and pretty relaxed. I loved everything about her. Nate is a huge sweetheart and a witty match for Hannah. These two have so much chemistry. I loved it!

A Sticky Situation delivers everything you need for a good time. Including dildo mishaps and steamy sex!

This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. In fact, I read it in one sitting because it was so entertaining. As you can tell from the blurb, there is a lot of humor, but there are also some more serious parts interspersed throughout the book. The main characters were likable (okay, Brix appeared to be an arrogant, conceited jerk in the beginning, but I did end up liking him) and I loved the secondary characters of Lou and Sasha. It wasn't a typical rock star romance and I was definitely surprised by the twists. A Sticky Situation is a fun, fast-paced book with great characters and I definitely plan to read more of this author's works. I received this book for free.

Not even gonna lie.... I was a little confused at first with this book. But by the end I had it figured out. Super twisty. Lots of laughs. Lots of ups and downs and to be honest some parts that were just plain sad. But I liked it a lot. The characters although one was really damaged found humor in life and it really brightened the story up for me. I enjoyed it a lot and the end really brought it all home for me.

The storyline was intriguing, yet at the end of this book I’m sitting here wondering why, how, what!?!?! It was a good read, but it was so back & forth with such strange things happening I was constantly confused. The best parts of the this story that was the best were the crazy awkward mishaps that kept happening to Hannah. The twists within the first half were shocking & yet so great! I recommend this book. Told in dual POV.

Brix loves to remind his woman of the *inserts sarcasm* good times, “okay, but if you change your mind, you know where to find me.” I stiffen as his gaze sweeps over me. “Or should I say I know where to find you. Somewhere in the vicinity of my bed.” The man loves to try and tempt his woman, “what if I promise to let you sleep?” I ask. “Well, after I’m done pleasuring you in sixteen different ways. Then I’ll let you sleep,” I concede." I liked rhis book.

DNF at 35%

I appreciate it when an author takes a chance and tells a different story. Part of going out on a limb is discovering the branch isn't strong enough to hold you.

This book had potential but I think the focus was so strongly placed on being clever and different that the author stopped telling a real story about real people.

When I discovered that, at 35%, I hadn't even met the hero...well, that seemed like a good place to stop.

I received a review copy of the book before release for an honest review.

This is an amusing story that is really about how far you will go for the family that you love. Both main characters in this romance have ISSUES with their siblings and families and it takes them into some wild and wacky situations.

The female main character in this story is Hannah and she just wants some alone time and to escape her mother, sister and 16 year old niece when she meet Rockstar Brix. That is the VERY sticky situation she gets into.

Hannah is a nurse and the next day she finds out that Brix is now part of her nursing duties and that's where things come to ahead. This was a fascinating storyline that just kept getting better and better and I could not put it down.

It is not a straight forward plot and the cast of characters changes a lot but it was a lot of fun and I absolutely enjoyed this wonderful journey the author took me on. If you love this series, this is a very fun one and extremely original as I cannot remember a similar storyline before.

If you have never read this series before it easily stands alone and its definitely a fun trip and adventure with this storyline.

It ends pretty abruptly though everything is all tied up nicely. It should have another chapter where we see the characters a year later but I have not read that yet as I was told it would be sent to me at a later date but I cannot wait to read it.

Edit: I now have read the last chapter and it was wonderful loved the ending.

I am willing to suspend belief in certain instances, but somethings, considering the times we live in, just can't be believed.

So the things associated with that opening are the reasons this was a 3 star instead of 4.

First of all when hotel reservations are booked you do get details about your room, there is no way you should be so horny that you don't pay attention to your surroundings to the point you don't realize something is not right with the space you are going to be staying in. Plus who stays in a hotel room and doesn't use that extra door latch thingy to make sure they are secure in their space????

Secondly, with all of the technology and paparazzi no one found out any personal details about Brix to post on google? I'm not even talking about the reason for him being sent rehab, but family, friends, lovers....

Lastly, if you have guest staying in your house wouldn't you lock the door if you wanted to satisfy yourself. If it was this hard to do it at home those of us with kids, parents, sibling, or roommates living with us would be screwed or broke renting rooms just to have an orgasm.

If we were in a different time this would have been easier to overlook. Besides that though I have come to like Missy Johnson's books, and will continue on reading her work in the future.

4.5 sticky stars 🌟

Hannah is just about to do her nut in....she has her sister and niece staying with her...and getting off is harder than she ever imagined! When her bestie Lou decides to treat her to a stay in a hotel for a night so she can have some privacy.....it all goes wrong🤪 Suffice to say she ends up in the wrong room and has an audience of one....who is none other than the rock star Brix Wilson. Hannah leaves mortified that he saw her trying to get her rocks off❣️But she will never see him again, or so she thinks. Next time she sees him will be at her place of work.

Brix has been ordered to a rehab facility after he was caught with drugs. But he asks his brother Nate to help him out....boy could it go more wrong.....but then Nate meets Hannah😍

Hannah and Nate get caught in a very sticky situation and watching them get out of it while trying to get ahold of Brix is worth all the anxiety to read the ending❣️ Great awkward series and look forward to more.

Funny! I love sarcasm and this book is filled with it.
Hannah can't find time to "take care of herself" while her sister and niece are living in her apartment. When Hannah takes a night off for herself and checks into a hotel, the last thing she expects is for someone to walk in on her. AND that person is a famous singer. Can we say MORTIFIED???
But it gets better! Said singer shows up at where she works the very next day.
There is a plot twist very early on. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not. It ended up growing on me and I think worked out well for the main characters.
The only reason this book didn't get 4 stars was because it felt rushed at the end. It had a great start - a buildup in the middle that kept me turning pages - then it seemed like everything was on fast forward.

This series isn't called Awkward Love by mistake. I have picked up a couple (totally not in order, and quite randomly, so be assured these can be read as standalones) and their cringe-tastic moments are just fantastic. They make you want to die of secondhand embarrassment and are just so well done!
Hannah is a very relatable girl just trying to get some personal satisfaction - in every way. A snafu at a hotel lands her accidentally in Rockstar Brix's hotel room instead of her own, and he walks in when she's having some serious personal time. The twists and turns that bring this pair back together are hilarious and awkward and just really fun. I didn't anticipate any of the curveballs thrown at me and the side characters are just as entertaining as the main ones.
I recommend this one if you need a fast and dirty read with some laughs!

This story is perfect for this series of standalones as the situations Hannah finds herself in are about as awkward as it gets. I won't go into details about the who's who of this one because that would totally give spoilers, but true to form, the romance is low on angst and sexy. Our couple gives good banter and has even better chemistry. The story is full of wit and humor, and of course, crazy situations that are sure to tickle the funny bone. The epilogue is a lot sexy and also full of sweetness for this couple's happy ending, but I felt like the last line of the last chapter was just about perfect for this pair, and I would've been just as satisfied with the story. All in all, another winner in a series of fun.

Great story about a girl, Hannah, a nurse who works at a rehab hospital, who's just trying to get some alone time, to take care of some things, yet is constantly getting interrupted! When her best friend gets her a hotel room for a night, she ends up in the wrong room and let's just say, puts on a show unbeknownst to her to the person who's room it actually is! None other than rock superstar Brix Wilson.
Brix is dealing with his own demons, and when he's mandated to go to rehab after being caught with drugs while in a compromising position, he runs into his mysterious hotel mate Hannah.
Follow their story, as they get to know each other or so you think! Holy plot twist! Didn't see this coming at all! Great story, grab this today!

Hannah loves her sister and her niece but having them live with her can be a little restrictive. All she wants is a little alone time and some privacy so renting a hotel room for an evening seemed like the perfect getaway. Ending up in the wrong room and having rock superstar, Brix, walk in on her pleasuring herself was not how she wanted her evening to go.

Hannah hoped to never see him again and leave the embarrassing situation in her past but when she and Brix are reunited for professional reasons the fun begins and things are about to get very complicated.

Hot chemistry, humorous banter and plot twists that leave you guessing all add up to an enjoyable story.
