Ummm well!
I know it's erotica, and different strokes and all but...
It left me sad more than anything else and I didn't get the hea promised (or what a hea means to me). Hell, they don't even share their names with her. It's Blue, Black and Red even in the one year later epilogue. I am trying to be as non-judgmental as Astrid but but reading about a bunch of self-serving and shallow people churned my insides.
No one cares about Astrid, not even Astrid herself. :(

3 stars, after much debate in my head.

I've enjoy this author's work in the past. I love her dark edgy twist with elements of innocent h and dominant H. It's like a nice mix of Alexa Riley & K. Webster. However, this book. A disappointment. It's not the sharing. I've read ménage books, though I'd prefer a permanent ménage. But it's the ending I suppose. I kinda wanted all the men to whisk Astrid away. From the wives and their crazy setup. Didn't turn out that way. The wives are still in the picture. It's one big happy family. Per Astrid below

"I'm in love with love, even more than I always was, because I'm now in deep, enduring love with six individuals. The wives, the husbands. And they love me back."

Yea. Let that sink in for a bit.

Anyways. I'm sorry I didn't like it as I was hoping. It was hot and steamy enough when Astrid has her scenes with the H's. But as it's a very short book, don't go expecting too much. I did, but totally my fault. I'm owning that shit. I blame my damn head for picturing a different outcome. Even with the author's warning it's an unconventional HEA. I still wanted Astrid as the main woman. Dammit--I don't want my heroines sharing her H! Even if she is the "husband sitter/other woman". Ugh. My head is just fucked up right now. Read at your own risk, I would say.

Now... couple book friends said read Jessa Kane sitter book its pretty taboo. So I was okay ill go in with a open mind. I hate some of my book friends who gave me the green light. This book was so crigny and yeah a book I dislike from Ms. Kane.

Just that it was really unconventional and utterly smutty. It’s not for everybody but I still enjoyed it. ☺️

Don’t think too hard about why you love Jessa Kane

Let’s not overthink the absolutely smut that Jessa Kane lays down on the page for us. I don’t know exactly how the writing can still be SO GOOD while she packs novellas with well-developed characters.

I loved the characters in this book even though we only get one real name. The plot is a very thin cotton, but it is — with all her novellas — held together by absolute passion.

This is pure fantasy, a very adult fairy-tale if you will. Despite her sheltered upbringing, Astrid thrives on the unusual situation she finds herself in. The wives are happy, their husbands are very happy and everyone comes together at the end.

Okay I went on a full Jessa Kane binge over the past few days. Her bite sized books are just so easy to read, and fun, and steamy - though they can definitely feel similar (older male hero obsessed with virgin). I didn't add all the ones by her I read, but after reading The Husband Sitter I knew I wanted to record it on Goodreads just because I want to tell people: READ THIS IF YOU NEED SMUT.

This ultra short book (I think it's less than 50 pages) features a young woman named Astrid who was raised in a hippie commune and has the gift of empathy - she can feel others emotions and project emotions onto them. She travels to Los Angeles to spread love (instructions her mother gave her) and comes across an advertisement for an unusual job posting: three rich wives are looking for a woman to entertain their husbands.

Mrs. Black wants Astrid for her younger, French, former escort husband because she's busy and constantly traveling and he's faithful but unsatisfied and constantly on edge.
Mrs. Blue wants to "catch" Astrid with her former NFL player husband, and to help him get his groove back.
Mrs. Red wants Astrid to help soothe her husbands... desires. (Daddy kink. DADDY KINK.)

This novella felt so fresh because this is super rare for an erotica - to have the younger woman invited into the relationship by the wife... and I think that made it more hot. Astrid becomes something between a sex worker and a girlfriend and the story has an unconventional HEA. I only wish it was longer because we get one encounter per couple and DANG.

i enjoyed some parts of this book. other parts i didn't as much.
i didn't exactly love the way astrid was portrayed or her way of thinking. her "powers" were a bit weird to me, especially when they were used during steamy scenes. it just wasn't for me.
i liked the spice for the most part but not as much as i have with other jessa kane books.
one of the husbands called astrid "young lady" and i just wanted to throw up. lol. personal preference, of course.
not my favorite jessa kane book tbh. but it might be an acquired taste???
not sure, this one was hard to rate for me.

I have read every bug that Jessa Kane has ever written and I love her books. She is definitely an author that pushes the boundaries, while giving you a healthy dose of steam and fire, and this story was no different. I have never read a story like this one. I found the premise of it to be so unique, and the story itself was executed so incredibly. The story was hot, it was different, yet it had the voice of this offer and these characters in a way that was truly phenomenal.

Honestly the more that I read the story, the more that I wanted more of it. I really enjoyed it these characters and the story and how it was all told, and I’ve seriously got my fingers crossed that this author will write something else in this world, will continue this story, or will give us something else like this because it was truly fantastic!!!!
