Having learned to climb in North Conway, New Hampshire, I had to pick up Chip Lee’s fairly obscure biography of the infamous Henry Barber.

I’ve spent a good deal of time at the Barber Wall getting humbled by the classics, and for good reason! Mr. Barber was an extraordinary climber, of unequaled skill on the smooth granite of New Hampshire.

The book is not especially well written, but still worth a read if you’re a New England climber.

A gem that I picked up on consignment at IME. I love New England climbing history. Definitely a good & adventurous read.

PS - Henry Barber climbs continuously humble me!
