I was probably in the 5th grade when I read this book - 1979?? - I remember it was the first book I ever read that I could not put down. Sat in the rocking chair in my room for an entire weekend and read like crazy to see what was going to happen next.

This was the first book I truly read in my life. I was maybe 2nd grade and I sat down and finished the book. I have been an avid reader of books ever since, and if not for this book I do not think I would be the reader I am today. I highly recommend reading it!

Way way better than I remembered from grade school and I remember liking it a lot back then.

A short story about Morgan, a young boy who finds himself in the middle of a hurricane with no company other than his dog, Tater. Reminds me of Stephen King's "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon", but aimed at young readers.
