...I'm a sucker for the enemies-to-lovers trope, but the possessive, asshole thing is getting old real quick. The cute better come soon.

Review to come. Wooooow. So I knew there would be a love triangle shaping up from the first volume, but this installment added a +1 and then some. Yu is definitely an MC I like following so far, though I feel bad for her since she has a lot of conflicting feelings coming into and going out of this volume. Solid 4 stars still.

The battle between Yu and Kurosaki continued in this vol and things certainly heated all the way up.

There were even more unfavourable things that Kurosaki did in this vol that, at this point, really couldn’t be overlooked. Yet, whilst Yu continued to state that she didn’t like his pushy attitude, her actions sometimes suggested otherwise and it made for a confusing narrative.

Kurosaki brought to light genuine questions regarding Yu’s personality that the manga is yet to dive into and until it is explored further it can’t be stated that all of Kurosaki’s actions were fundamentally wrong. Despite what some would have you believe, there’s nothing wrong with being submissive to someone if it’s what you personally enjoy and if there is that level of trust between you and your counterpart that they wouldn’t abuse that position given to them which allows them power over you.

The end was surprisingly left field and perhaps the most daring move made by this manga yet. Bringing in new elements in Defying Kurosaki-kun, Vol. 3 is sure to stir up trouble!

So unbelievably tropey. I bet pretty much every rom com scenario will be in this series. But, for some reason, I’m interested!

Man får lära känna The White Prince mer också.

This was ...interesting to say the least. A guy shouldn't behave like that towards a girl, a human shouldn't behave like that towards another human, PERIOD. However this is super addicting, although I thought the behavior was bad, I couldn't stop reading...

"You're so quick to wag your tail for anyone."

I have no intention of continuing this series at this point.

I am on a quest to find a sweet, wholesome romance manga a la My Sweet Girl, but this isn't it.

In Defying Kurosaki-kun, we follow 16-year-old Akanabe as she lives in the school dorms and finds herself entangled in a love triangle between the cold-hearted Kurosaki and the angelic ... Shirokawa? I don't even remember homeboy's name, but I'm talking about the blonde one.

This had the potential to be a sweet and wholesome high school romance, but the author chose to take it in the opposite direction. These relationships are toxic. Akanabe is struggling. Shirokawa is more sinister than he seems. Kurosaki is a predator. More than once, we see Akanabe face sexual abuse at Kurosaki's hands as a form of punishment - forced kisses, being trapped against walls and between his legs, hickeys she neither wants nor consents to.

And, based on the synopses of the rest of the series, it doesn't look like it will be getting any better going forward, so I'll just save myself the annoyance and move on in my quest. What a waste.

I devoured all 19 volumes of Defying Kurosaki-kun over the last week. This is a beautiful story of Yu and Haruto's relationship as it grows from nothing to sweet romance. Haruto's always been a loner except for Takumi who's been his only friend until Yu comes into his life. The story is about the relationship between Yu and Haruto but Takumi is such a intricate part of the story.

I really loved Yu as a character she's this bright ball of sunshine who's reinvented herself now that she's in high school and growing so much into this character you just cheer on. Haruto is cold and demanding in the beginning but we get to see him slowly start to grow as the series progresses. He builds friendships, reconnects to his family and he learns so show Yu how much she means to him.

I truly enjoyed the series even if I had a few moments where I wanted to reach through the book and stab Haruto for being stupid. it's a whirlwind sweet love story that I'm so sad to see ending. I wish that this series wouldn't have ended because I wanted more of Yu and Haruto's story. I wanted Takumi to find his happy ever after too. I do hope maybe one day we will get more. This is one of my top favorite series. Highly recommend if you are a fan of the grumpy/sunshine trope it fits really well. The artwork is beautifully done. I loved it so much the whole story.

I thought this was an overall good volume. I can see the love triangle start to form. However, I can't help but feel Shirakawa is up to something and is really just jealous of Kurosaki or something. IDK THO.

For the cons, I just don't like it every time Kurosaki forces himself onto Yuu and Yuu being helpless and sometimes liking it. I just feel like it doesn't set a good example to the younger kids reading this.

For the pros, I really like the art here, and there is a side character here named Kaji, and ngl he makes me lol all the time. I also like how this volume ended, with Yuu's friend having a crush on Kurosaki, I think it'll make a good and interesting storyline somewhere in the future especially since Yuu is having some conflicting feelings with Kurosaki.

I think this volume left a lot of openings for the future and indeed, I am excited to continue reading the next volume. :)

the male lead is kinda off

Like how is girly okay with the man sexually assaulting her? Like she isn’t even like mad or scared or anything. Like bro is enjoying this!? How are we supposed to support a guy who is a walking red flag. Man is literally making me curse at my phone. Pls tell me I’m not the only one who is pressed cause of this?

Do I mind? Not at all.

Good Story Still

The pacing in this volume is the same as the first, which was good. I'm hooked now so I'm just going to keep reading on.

Enjoyed.

I enjoyed it but wish they were longer. Especially for that price. I know it’s because of the art but still. I’m enjoying the story line though!

Okay

I don’t like the white prince. He’s definitely sketchy. Kurosaki and Yu have great chemistry. I’ll read volume 3. 3 stars.

This story has only gotten better. I still don't trust "white prince". I am aways a sucker for bad boy or dark nights hehe. Tho the dark prince should slow his crap but I feel like he is growing.
