New American Houses: Country, Sea & Cities (International Architecture & Interiors)

Rate this book
This second book in the series "International Architecture & Interiors" deals with new home designs in New York and the United States. Rather than deal merely with the house interiors, we have preferred to cover the entire building in all its constructional and design details. The nineteen house projects have been subjected to the careful scrutiny of the photographer Paul Warchol, whose exacting, objective lens documents each of these magnificent homes in a global sense, portraying their settings, their rapport with the landscape, the facade designs, and the layouts, with an eye also to the constructional details, the use of materials, and not least the lighting, one of the pivotal features of all these projects, in whatever part of the United States it is sited. Each house is documented with a set of detailed architectural plans and technical drawings to provide the reader with insights on the color photographs. Extra information on materials and technical data for each project are provided at the end of the book, together with biographies of the designers.
