Full of useful insights

I read this book after my Dr. Informed me that my A1C measurement at my last physical indicated I was pre diabetic. He lays out all the information one needs to combat Type2 diabetes with diet and exercise.

I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars because part one of the book dragged on a little too long. The science could have been explained more succinctly. His chronology of "who's/who" in the high-fat/low-carb world at the end of this section starting with William Banting who popularized the movement with his diet in the 19th century was very informative. The best part of the book is his personal journey with discovering his own type 2 diabetes. He didn't sugar-coat anything and admitted some mistakes on the way to reversing his diabetes. The third part of the book contain recipes and sample days of eating high fat/low carb. Overall, I am very happy that I read this book and recommend it others who want to get rid of the pills and the needles.
