Welcome to Charm Cove, Maine – where the Good are Wicked, and the Wicked are Good… or maybe not.

Moira Wicked is back home for good, no pun intended. She’s settling in to help run Persnickety Potions & Gifts, her family’s store. Even though she’s loath to admit it, she’s a bit relieved to be home. Here in Charm Cove, there’s nothing unusual about the last name Wicked and it’s more uncommon to encounter someone who isn’t a witch, rather than the other way around.

Just when Moira thinks life might be quieting down, there’s a spate of burglaries around town. It’s no accident that the homes and businesses being targeted belong to witches. Once again, the oh-so-charming Charm Cove is all atwitter. Amidst the undercover investigation, tourists are still crowding the streets, seeking the, ahem, magic and charm of the little town.

Moira is smack in the middle of sleuthing out what happened, seeing as Persnickety Potions & Gifts was one of the burglar’s targets. As if she didn’t already have enough going on trying to hold her nosy family at bay.

There’s still that pesky destiny she’s supposed to fulfill—specifically by marrying Liam Good. She might be on the way to falling in love with Liam, but she’s not so sure about marriage yet. A Wicked is fated to fall in love with a Good once every century. No pressure or anything.

Take a visit to Charm Cove, where Wicked meets Good and where you just might find there’s almost always more than meets the eye.

Wicked Good:
Destiny's A Witch #1 - I like this book better than Witch You Wouldn't Believe and Witch is When it Gets Crazy. The witches and warlocks are likable and their dialog realistic. I'm happy to see a male is called a warlock instead of witch (PC is so stupid with the sexes). Well written, clean but with sexual attraction makes this story entertaining.

Add mischievous teenage witches, nosy friends and family on top of family pressure to do the Destiny thing, while determining if a death was an accident or a murder, leaves the main characters in all types of states. Never mind if there's a second chance for them or it is Destiny, there's a lot of happenings. Pretty good story without the usual stupid drama found in a lot of this genre. 4*

Hex Me Not #2 - Another interesting book in the Wicked Good Mystery Series. The witches and warlocks are still likable, interesting and entertaining. The background storylines continue while the main mystery keeps the reader immersed in the quickly read, well thought plot. The story moves along a steady moving pace, is clean and without the usual stupid drama found in a lot of books of this genre. There's an overview, which I appreciate knowing what a book is about before I read it. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
Wicked Good End.

Lemon Tea Cozy:
Witch You Wouldn't Believe #1 - My first book by this author and I was pleasantly surprised by this good story. Set in Louisiana (my second choice after Texas), this well written story about a witch coven is intriguing and mesmerizing. The characters range from interesting to annoying and do grow as the series goes on (I've also read Witch is When it Gets Crazy #3). I do have a problem with a character not trusting her mother and she really doesn't have a broom to ride with her suspicions. She has a good relationship with her mother, but still thinks she could be a murderer? Nope, didn't work for me, but the story held my attention to the end. There is humor, but not much about magic. This book does a good job setting up the series. It is not a cliffhanger although I assume the story continues in book 2. (There's still the background story from book 1 in book 3.) 5*

Witch is When it Gets Crazy #3 - As much as I would have enjoyed reading the second book, I didn't have it. The coven is getting more interesting, along with the characters. The story is interesting, but I still have a problem with Violet not trusting her mother, and some of the older witches, she's too strong with her suspicions and her actions. She was proven wrong in Witch You Wouldn't Believe (#1), yet she didn't learn a thing and her actions are dishonest. Why not use a "keep out" spell for the factory, like the Coven's room. Otherwise, the characters are developing into an interesting bunch and the plot keeps the reader immersed. 4*

Hex Me Not is a quick fun read about a small town called Charm Cove. Charm Cove just happens to have a LOT of witches that live there, a fact that is pretty openly and apparently calmly accepted by the non-magical residents. Hex Me Not is part of a series, but while reading it definitely inspired me to track down the first book from the series, I don't think NOT having read it hampered my enjoyment of the book at all. I do think, however, that I would have enjoyed it even more, had I read the first book first.

Our main character is Moira, a witch who has recently returned to Charm Cove, and having settled back in to her home town, is running a small shop that sells potions, jewelry and knickknacks--some magical and some not. Soon the quirky little town is unsettled by a rash of burglaries that seem to have focused on magical families and business--and some very old, very valuable magical and potentially dangerous items have been stolen. The mystery itself, was, for me, far less interesting than all the characters in the town, and watching them as they worked to figure out what items were missing and why...and potentially who could have stolen the items. I really enjoyed the interplay between Moira and her various family members, friends, neighbors...and cat. There is also a minor element of romance in this story--which is a big part of why I want to go find book 1, haha. The history, the families, the way they work together (or don't), the way they keep records (or don't), and the way this is still a small town story--with it's gossips and nosy neighbors... For me that was the heart of the story, and I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed Moira using her magical gifts to help resolve the mystery, but for me, the mystery wasn't that important. The characters, the town, Moira and her boyfriend...the mysterious cat...These all captured my interest and has me looking for more books in this series, and more by this author, in general. If you like small towns full of fun characters, a dash of the supernatural, an ounce of mystery and maybe a tablespoon of romance, this one is for you!

This is the first book by Lucy May that I have read. I liked the mystery aspect of the book but I didn't feel that spark between Moira Wicked and Liam Good I got it on Moira's perspective but not so much Liam maybe if I had read the first book I would understand there relationship better. The only thing that I found to be repetitive was the constant reiteration of how it was okay for Moira and Liam to be together and they weren't that closely related maybe the first to chapters could have covered this and the rest could have been more about the mystery and how Moira and Liam ended up apart in the first place. This book is about solving a mystery as well as Moira deciding her future with Liam and weather she's willing to let fate play out with them since it's always been fated that they should be together.

I liked the interaction between the different people in this town and the extended family members that being said there are some extra characters that I felt were just window dressing and I would have liked to see more from them.

Moira is a bit of a witchy sleuth but the the rest of her family seem to like solving a mystery too. Moira also seems to be in a bit of a conflict about her future with Liam. So with the help of her family she will need to get to the bottom of all the robberies in town and make some romantic choices were Liam is concerned. I would read another book by this Author because there is plenty of potential with these stories.

Moira Wicked has returned home to Charm Cove, Maine, to help run Persnickety Potions & Gifts, her family’s store. This morning, standing in line for coffee, Opal Good told her someone had broken into their home and stolen several objects. She also mentioned Moira’s mother said their home had also been burglarized, as well as a break-in at the lighthouse! When Moira opened Persnickety Potions, she found the backroom had been broken into! It seemed that Charm Cove had a burglar to deal with!

The five families who had been burglarized met at the lighthouse to discuss it. So far, it looked like wands, spell books, and potions had been taken. Who is stealing the magical items? What is the thief planning on doing with the stolen items? Will Moira and Liam find their love strong enough to want to finally marry and complete their long-awaited destiny?

This was a fun, well written story that I thoroughly enjoyed. The pacing was a bit slow, but the ample descriptions painted a nice visual picture of the town and environment. The reader knows some of the characters from previous stories, and new ones are introduced to keep things interesting. Add a little mystery and romance, and you have the perfect book to keep you reading! This one has both of those things, so don’t miss out!

Moira Wicked is starting to accept her destiny of marrying Liam Good, as she realizes she is falling in love with him. But marriage can wait along with the wishes of the Good and Wicked families. All that has to take a back seat when the town of Charm Cove is hit by a number of burglaries.

Moira finds herself in the middle of things when her shop Persnickety Potions & Gifts along with a few other Good and Wicked family businesses and homes are also burglarized. She soon discovers that all the missing items have one thing in common; if used correctly they can help a witch re-establish his/her powers. Is the person stealing these items wanting the powers for good or bad?

This book is a great combination of charming and quirky characters, a hint of romance, lots of mystery and suspense, plus a good dash of humor. It is the second book in the Wicked Good mystery series but can easily be read as a stand-alone.

I am absolutely loving this series. After reading the 1st book in the series I couldn't wait till this one came out because I wanted to see where the story headed for the main character, Moira. I love the town the story is based in, all the wonderful supporting characters, the mystery and of course the romance. I think the author could ease up on the main characters whining and questioning of her pre planned life. It begins to annoy me that it is brought up over and over in the story although it is obvious the main character is choosing to be with the man she loves. Hopefully the next book will lay off of this and focus more on the progression of the characters love life and the mystery because that is what is making me come back to read more. It really is a great read and I highly recommend both books in this series. Now I can't wait for the next!

Welcome to Charm Cove, Maine. A quaint little town populated by witches and others all unbeknownst to the tourists. We have two families--the Goods and the Wickeds. There is a prophecy that a Good and a Wicked are destined to marry. Unfortunately that means poor Moira Wicked is one part of that destiny and the other is Liam Good. Although Moira likes Liam she is so not into letting a prophecy or destiny dictate who she will or won;t marry. She has an aunt who is having health issues so has come home to help run the family store. Then there is a series of robberies and all the important families are targeted. The items that have been taken specifically from her shop are items that are used in finding and restoring power. Now Moira needs to juggle her relationship with Liam. the family dynamics with health issues and an unknown seeking to reabsorb power.
Fantatic story and read!

In the second book of the series, Moira Wicked and Liam Good are progressing their relationship - maybe even in spite of their relatives' good intentions! There are break-ins at some of the oldest families' homes and businesses and it appears that a stranger is 'researching' methods to regain powers - maybe someone with ties to old Salem? In this case, Moira works with the local Charm Cove police to narrow down the suspects. Not a single murder to be solved, so the Chief seems to be ok with Moira (who happens to be his wife Zoe's best friend) doing some research into who could be behind the burglaries. Moira's teenage cousins (and employees at Persnickety Potions and Gifts - their family's store) seem to enjoy taking notes and sleuthing as well, leading them into a potentially dangerous situation.
I've really enjoyed the storylines and writing in the first 2 Wicked Good Mysteries and I look forward to reading the next one.

An absolutely delightful tale yet again by Ms. May. Well done story that flowed effortlessly. A lot of attention to detail with this plot. The characterizations were all wonderfully done and there were many of them. They were all well developed and believable within the sphere of the tale. The bantering dialogue was hilarious as was the inner dialogue of the main female character. One thought she had that I found particularly hilarious yet so true was, "I was deep in my thoughts ... I could run laps in there and get caught up in all kinds of worry." Excellent reading! Excellent enjoyment factor! Just plain time well spent. Here is to hearing more from Ms. May!

A highly recommended novel.

Book two in a series that i have started from book one.

Author does a wonderful job at the beginning of the book that is a very good synopsis of book one. Yo can read this book without having read the first one as a result or being lost.

I love how they have to figure out what was taken to figure out who did it and why. One complaint is that that in My copy , the author does say what went missing from the lighthouse. If all stolen things very necessary for the end then what was it. Next book maybe?

This my honest and freely given review. I received an ARC book.
Note: That I am hopeful that author will address some of the issues we have brought to her attention. If she does I would love to reread it and reevaluate my stars.

On the surface of it this seemed to be the perfect read for my current reading mood - some romance, some paranormal folk and a cozy mystery. And while this read has those elements the read just didn't deliver. The continuous repetition of information that should have just been mentioned once - family names, history, that the town has witches, the mischievous cousins, destiny etc - made the read a lot longer than it needed to be. The name of the family store and the coffee shop give me a smile, but there was just too much unnecessary detail spoiling what could have been an light and easy read.

New England Witch Story
This is a fun, cozy, paranormal witch mystery. There is mild and unnecessary cussing. This book is the second in a series. It stands alone well. I did get very tired of the author repeating things over and over and over again, as if the reader was 5 years old. The layout and history of the plot are very intriguing. The characters are life-like with understandable emotion and motivation. I think that I will read the other 2 books in the series in the hopes that the author quits over-explaining everything. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest review.

This is the second book in the series and while it can be read as a standalone, it’s a good idea to read the first book so you have the backstory concerning the characters. This is a fun cozy mystery and I particularly enjoyed the interplay within Moira’s family. I did find it to be repetitive at times, but it was still a pretty good story. If you enjoy a witchy cozy mystery with a touch of romance, try this one out.

a thief comes to Charm Cove - and he is taking particular items.

Putting it all together, it seems he may be trying to gain something bigger

but why, if he needed help, why did he not come to the elders or other families?

With main characters called Moira Wicked and Liam Good, and set in a magical spot like Charm Cove, the scene is set for a beautiful magical mystery. Who is stealing the magical items? And will Moira and Liam find love, as has been predicted by their families? I really enjoyed the light heartedness of this story as well as the mystery and romance :-)

I enjoyed this one even more than I did the first one. A town full of quirky characters, a fated marriage between a Good and a Wicked, and an exciting mystery make this one story that shouldn't be missed. There are many humorous moments and they blend perfectly with the suspense of the light-hearted mystery. I loved the fact that it isn't a mystery I had figured out until the end, too.

This is book number 2 in the series. Its a continuation of Moira Wicked and Liam Good fate too. There is a lot of break in's around town and Moria Wicked's business she is running, Persnickety Potions & Gifts , is one that is broken into. Lots of action, some fun spots and Moira seems to be coming to the conclusion that just maybe there is fate between her and Liam. Recommend.
