Just so you know, I’m feeling especially pouty tonight. If you hang out with me, I’ll whine and be unreasonable.

“I’m the firstborn. Responsibility is my middle name.” “You’re firstborn by eight minutes.” Margot sighed. “I did love being an only child.”

From her perspective, there was only one surefire way to get him to back off. She offered a regretful smile and lightly touched his arm. “I would love to only things are a little contagious…”She waved her fingers toward her crotch.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book and after reading California Girls, I wanted more and this author delivered. I probably could have read this in one sitting had I not required sleep,,,,,,,,,,I just could not put this down.

Margot and Sunshine are sisters who have depended on eaxh other since their mother abandoned them at a young age. Margot is poised and professional and lives a very controlled lifestyle. Sunshine is the opposite.

The Summer of Sunshine & Margot by Susan Mallory

A touching novel about two sisters whose goals are to make their lives better. As they do their best at their respective jobs, each must learn to care for the new men in their lives.

It’s a beautiful and heart appealing story of the sister duo falling in love. Sunshine and Margot are so different. Their connection and support to each other is lovely and the best kind of sister relationship to have.

An excerpt that describes Alec. A sentiment I can

EXCERPT: Sunshine Baxter was done with love at first sight. D.O.N.E. More times than she could count, she'd looked into a pair of - insert any color here - eyes and immediately given her heart. The relationships had all ended in disaster and she'd hated herself for being so incredibly stupid over and over again, so she decided she was finished with the falling in love concept. Over it. Moving on.

Susan Mallery has constructed a sunny lighthearted story perfect for the summertime. Two sisters, two men,two complicated romances. Margot and Sunshine are sisters with very different personalities, but very similar dreams. Margot is the serious sister, the planner. She is working as an etiquette coach when she meets Alec, The buttoned up son of her free spirited client Bianka. Sunshine is the wild sister. Always making the wrong decisions, always falling for the wrong

Susan Mallery has done it again! To this day she is one of my favorite authors - she never dissappoints. Whenever I need a pick me up or feel good book I know exactly where to turn every time!

This is a moving novel about Sunshine and Margot Baxter, fraternal twins, who have come a long way since their mother left them when they were very young. These two sisters are so very different, but there is one thing that they are both searching for... true love! Sunshine and Margot have such a strong bo

I’m always a fan of stories about sisters and if they’re twin sisters, I’m even more interested. I’ve read quite a few books by Susan Mallery about sisters and this one may be my new favorite, she has a true gift for writing about sibling relationships in a really realistic and authentic way and the family dynamics between Sunshine and Margot were both interesting and also sweet, a perfect combination for a summer read.

Like many siblings, Sunshine and Margot are polar opposites both in their app

Please note that I received this book via NetGalley. This did not affect my rating or review.

Well that was actually a good read compared to the other two books I finished this weekend. There were some weak subplots going on, but I did love the two sisters (Sunshine and Margot) relationship. For once we didn't get very little scenes with people who are related. These two depend on each other and love each other. The romantic interests were okay, I do have to call BS on Sunshine's though, there's

The Summer of Sunshine and Margott by Susan Mallery is an ideal example of what I love in a light summer contemporary fiction – charming characters, plenty of humor, family drama, just the right amount of romance and most importantly a satisfying and happy ending. The author certainly knows how to tell a story and with easily flowing simple words she manages to keep her readers engaged, leaving them completely content towards the end.

The plot revolves around two fraternal twin sisters Sunshine a

This is the first Susan Mallery book that I have read that I think I was actually disappointed in.

I can't put my finger on exactly what it was, but I just didn't love it. I couldn't relate to any of the characters and actually feel like they were a bit one dimensional. This is who they were and that was that. The character of Margot, the more 'studious' sister didn't grow very much at all in the book. Her character remained the same throughout. Sunshine the 'fun' sister did experience c

This story was sadly a total disappointment. There were so many things I found offensive (if I had a quarter for every time I read “piece of a%^*” I could take myself to dinner!) and just wrong (I’m not going to report sexual harassment because I have other things on my mind that are more important right now). It was repetitive, demeaning, and ultimately just ridiculous. I mean who gets propositioned by just about everyone she encounters? I’ve always loved Susan Mallery’s books, but this one was ...more

Song for summary: Meant to Be by Bebe Rexha

A heartwarming read! The characters are down-to-earth, independent, kind, and relatable while the plot is a sweet and unique tale about two sisters struggling to improve their terrible track record with men. A delightful novel by Susan Mallery as her trademark warmth, humour, and cast of memorable characters transpire to create this light and fun summer story.

This book feels much longer than it actually was. Somehow, despite having a decent amount of plot, the story was repetitive. It felt like the characters were always in the exact same place they started.

Also the romances were fails. Alec is too uptight and the author does nothing to soften him. His relationship with Margot is never built up to and why they’re attracted to each other is never really believable to me. Sunshine apparently has met every asshole on the west coast, and it’s frankly ex

Usually love books by Susan Mallery but I have to honestly say, I did not care much for this one. It does not normally take me three days to finish a book but this one was a plodder for me. Have to confess I scanned over a few erotic sections, not my cup of tea. Don't need explicit descriptions. I cannot personally recommend it but if you like Susan Mallery you may like it.

This is my favorite Susan Mallery book so far. What I liked about this one is they gave us some POVs for the men and not just the women. I realize that this is chick lit. But I do love some POV for the men.

The women were interesting. They had goals and desires, but they also wouldn't break their principles. I also liked that they didn't just have the one character as acing her classes when she went back to college. They showed her struggling and dealing with real life problems in returning to sc

There’s a reason why Susan Mallery, till this day, remains one of my favorite author.

Her story is never complicated but full of goodness like a good, home cook meal. Her characters are never over the top. They are always relatable. In my head, her characters are real. Their problems are real. Their issues and insecurity are real. I think that, more than anything else, is what makes me love her stories.

I love Sunshine and Margot. I could relate to Margot more, compared to Sunshine simply becaus

Susan Mallery has written a delightful story in The Summer of Sunshine and Margot. She has written a story about starting over, romance, finding yourself, overcoming bad decisions and wrapped it all up with wonderful characters. (free review copy) Ahhhh, a super sweet and satisfying story that I just devoured in one day. Susan Mallery has been hit or miss for me lately but this one of of my favorites of hers! It actually has some pretty steamy romance scenes and the sister protagonists are just so original and empowered - I loved them. I also loved how original the entire storyline was - sometimes I feel like I’ve read every story on earth already, but this one was refreshingly different in the world of gentle romance ❤ ...more

I've read all of Susan Mallery's Mischief Bay novels, as well as California Girls and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. So I knew that I had nothing to lose from reading The Summer of Sunshine and Margot, even though the synopsis didn't initially grab me. However, the story itself grabbed me right away and held my attention the entire time.

I really liked all four main characters, as well as Bianca and Connor. I found myself smiling often, as well as worrying for the characters when something

This is such a fun and light-hearted story of two sisters, Sunshine and Margot! Sunshine is a Thirty-something nanny who is going back to school while nannying full-time. She is nannying for a sweet boy and his newly widowed father, Declan, whom she also happens to think is gorgeous, but vows to not fall for. Margot is an etiquette coach. Her client Bianca is a handful and Margot decides living full-time in her mansion is the only option. She meets Bianca’s son Alex, who is insanely private and ...more

After reading California Girls, I put The Summer of Sunshine and Margot on my TBR list. It’s a perfect beach read. Twins Sunshine and Margot couldn’t be more different but are close and support one another as they were abandoned by their mother and raised by their now deceased great grandmother. Looking for charming characters with a backstory that's a little different? I read for character first. If I don't like the characters, I don't go on with the book. That's why I'm not a fan of some of the biggest crime novels of the last couple years. I started them, but couldn't stand the characters. However, Susan Mallery's The Summer of Sunshine & Margot introduces two sisters I loved from the very beginning, an enchanting young boy, and two men who struggled while remaining good, kind men. Features two sisters. One, Margot (the eldest by 8 minutes) is a sort of protocol experts who is hired to help an outrageous 70s era Hollywood star with a colorful reputation to become a little more staid since she is going to marry a diplomat from some fictional European principality. In the course of this Margot comes into the orbit of the star's scholarly, yet very handsome son.

The other sister is Sunshine who is a nanny to a very cute young boy. Sunshine is a bit flaky since her mo
