Ansel: My cousin, Aaron, helped to rescue a damsel in distress from her cartel family, and of all people, he left her under my protection. Regina didn’t know it, but I’d claimed every part of her the day I’d set eyes on her. When a faction showed up and made the fatal mistake of touching her, they had no idea they were unleashing a monster willing to destroy hell and set fire to the high waters to protect her.
Regina: How could I not fall for a man who was the walking definition of sexy and was willing to risk his life to protect mine? I’d agreed to be his submissive in a lifestyle I didn’t understand and ended up uncovering a few of my own hidden desires. Our relationship defied logic, but I believed that Ansel would bring the fires of hell down on anyone that attempted to touch me.

You need something to read that will entertain, titillate and engross you in the story?! Start with Twisted Series featuring Aaron & Megan! We met Aaron's cousin Ansel in that series and Megan's friends as well.
Keta Kendric came out of nowhere and blindsided us with Twisted! This author has spoiled me for future heroines in her series because there is NO ONE LIKE Megan! I liked Regina -- but, I love Megan (forever and always), Aaron AND Ansel.
OMG ... Ansel is a straight up NUTCASE -- much like Megan, he isn't wrapped too tight! So much to love about him and it's actually a toss up between Aaron and Ansel. So, for now, they are tied. But ... it is OH SO CLOSE!
For writers that want to add sizzling sex to their books but don't know where to begin. Use any of Keta's books as a blueprint.
DNF @ 39%. Yeahhh, issa no for me. I absolutely loved this author's first book; Aaron and Megan were hot! Also, to be clear, I am no stranger to dark, depraved romance, Neanderthal MCs, or BDSM that's not always completely safe, sane and consensual (I actually just five-starred a BDSM book that made me question my whole life lol) but, on some level, the book has to make sense. A character can be possessive, rough and demanding but he has to be sexy, not creepy. And when it comes to BDSM, a Dom can be hardcore but I have to be able to take him seriously. I cannot do that with Doms that take complete novices, throw them in the deep end and start talking about obedience, trust, and completely owning their body and mind without doing anything to establish said trust by walking the walk (meaning specifically BDSM-wise, not just him protecting her). It takes more than words, people. Listen, I know it's fiction, and we all like an alpha male who isn't shy about what he wants but this book suffers in a few ways:
1) 1st Person Narrative. I always say this about 'bad boy' books written in first person. The characters always think more highly of themselves than I do. It just feels like a whole bunch of bragging about their a-hole traits and a lot of telling, and I'm like yeah, yeah uh huh, ok.
2) The BDSM - epic fail. There are as many ways to live the BDSM lifestyle as there are people but, at only 39%, I was not surprised that all Ansel's subs eventually leave him. He is written as the quintessential Dom that's all bluster and no substance, the kind you laugh at when they try to dominate people after knowing them for all of 5 seconds. When you read a book with questionable practices, you might know it's not really above board but dammit, it's hot, and so you're willing to overlook it. Here, there was absolutely nothing sexy about what Ansel was describing to Regina, a complete novice, with zero interest in the lifestyle. There was zilch, zip, zero that would make her say, "Yes, I want to be your sub." She already wasn't interested in the lifestyle. With him saying you won't be my girlfriend, you'll just pretty much be there for me to use, what would make her say, "Yes, please??" It was totally unrealistic. He keeps pushing her to be his submissive, she says no, so he promises to punish her until he gets what he wants. Huh? He then takes her over his lap and spanks her, with a paddle mind you, with her protesting all the while and yelling at him to stop. Sooo are we working on trust now, or nah? What part of this is sexy? He sounded like a creepy sociopath. Walking into the room sniffing the panties she just discarded while she's sitting reading?? I would have been like, "Taxi!!" Eff the protection, I'll take my chances on the streets! Just like Book 1, we're told the character is 'crazzzy', which to me just feels like a cop out so they can do outlandish things sans consequence.
So, we have a crazy person, who isn't a Dom really, taking someone who knows nothing about BDSM (i.e untrained) to a club, deliberately trapping said novice into situations just so she can be punished ("Look around, they're all looking at you....."Did you just make eye contact with that Dom? Just add it to your list of punishments.") How else would she see that people are looking at her if she doesn't look directly at them, jackass? I hate weak stuff like that. Then he throws everything but the kitchen sink at her - bondage, suspension, a room with moving platforms, CHOKING...are we serious right now? This is Day 1! The whole thing just read so ridiculous I was torn between rolling my eyes and being pissed off. And, of course, she's creaming her undies from the whole experience. Yeah, ok.
3) Lack of control - We all love a man being so turned on by us that he can't think straight, but there is a difference between a highly aroused man and a rabid animal that needs to be put down. Some guy telling you that you WILL get f*cked whether you like it or not, because he is swelling and leaking and just, in general, sounding like he needs a shot of penicillin is NOT sexy! I LOVE a dominant man, even a rough one, but goodness, Ansel was just a jerk. The scene at the restaurant at 39% was the final straw. I had to exit stage left. There was really no reason for that situation to come to blows, except for the fact that Ansel is an a$$hole. Again, I lovvve a possessive man (in books) but he did not come off as dangerous; he came off as over the top, immature and an all around douchenozzle.
I tend to gravitate to the darker end of the genre so I've read lots of books with dysfunctional MCs. It takes A LOT for me to say 'no, gracias' but I can't do books where it feels like the author is trying too hard, and is attempting to blatantly dress dysfunction up as sexy. A hardcore Dom just IS, an alpha male just IS. He doesn't have to try to wax poetic about himself for us to figure it out. It all feels too fabricated and cartoonish. Aaron was a much better character. Ansel might have worked without the BDSM angle. That needed to be killed with fire, twice.
I'm leaving this unrated as I didn't even make it halfway, and I DO think this author is talented so I don't want to skew the ratings.
This series has been one heck of a ride and it ends with a crash into full on crazy love in a, I accept and love your psychopathic tendencies just as long as you don’t use them on me, sort of crazy love. I loved Ansel when I met him in the previous books in the series, but I have to admit in Twisted Obsession I kept teetering back between loving him and fearing him and had a hard time choosing which emotion to choose up until the very end. This story is not your run of the mill love story and sweet romance is not a part of Ansel and Regina’s journey. But if you’re looking for a hard fought for and won love that can and did stand the test of time, then you are going to love Twisted Obsession.
This book right here! Oh my. First of all, I hate that it had to end. Don't get me wrong, it told a complete story and I was happy with the ending, but I didn't want to put it down.
In the three book series that preceded this book, things we're all about Aaron and Megan. Ansel made himself known and wouldn't be quiet. I think that is what sparked the author to give him his own story. Aaron and Ansel are cousins and are alike physically since their mothers were twins and their fathers were brothers. That is where the similarities end.
Ansel takes dark and twisted to a whole other level. Did I say there were levels to this? Well, Ansel takes us to the lowest level of hell. This man has zero F's to give for anyone except maybe three people; Aaron, Megan and Doc.
As ruthless as he is, he is just as cocky. This is usually an annoying trait, but it looks good on Ansel. Doc's family is still after her, so Ansel and the boys are charged to protect her. He is head over heels for Doc, but refuses to acknowledge it. He chooses to turn to sex. Everybody knows Ansel doesn't do vanilla. He is all about the BDSM life and he ends up turning poor Doc out.
Baby, he gives it to her so good the woman cant speak, move her legs or even think. I think she passed out one time. I know I did. Old girl got hooked on his play. That's not to say she didn't give it right back. Ansel was weak for her. So much so that he eventually allowed them to do it like 'normal people'. They were so cute with that.
Then things change quickly. After Doc confesses that she loves him, Ansel doesn't know what to do with the feelings her words evoke. Instead of dealing with them, he heads out to work out his aggression on one of his targets. Only when Doc is taken away and he fears he will never see her again does he come to his senses. He walks through the fires of hell to get her back and faces the devil himself.
Ansel is the hero for saving her, but just like with Megan, Doc gets her revenge. And oh baby how cold that revenge was!
THIS IS NOT BDSM. I’m not sure what happened to Ansel, but in this installment he us a total Neanderthal that lives by the tenant, “HULK SMASH!” The lack of consent, during and after care, and overall basics of the lifestyle will drive you crazy. It’s 50 Shades of Nay. Also, the sex scenes are kinda boring. It only got good when they had “normal people sex”. The action in this book is over the top, but is fun. I also liked their backstories and demons. This installment was saved by the action alone because the caveman love proclamations weren’t doing it for me. #HULKSMASH can be read in so many ways now.
Twisted Obsession covered every base for me. I had no questions left to ponder. Ansel was crazy as hell. I loved how Gina just loved him down. Ansel is the man and Gina with that 1st kiss???? Ooooowee!!💗 This couple are imperfectly perfect. Both are so strong and loyal, sexy and loving. I loved the action, the story's flow...the characters chemistry ,..everything. From start to finish Twisted Obsession had me on lockdown..Thank you Keta, you killed it💗
Wasn't too bad, but all of this 50 shades was too much and not as well written!!!
I wasn't too fond of Regina originally and loved me some Ansel, but combining this with so much of Christian Grey was a little bit too much, not very well written as the original Christian Grey and not as research also. Made it a little bit too long, too lame, too boring and just plain down unreadable. Didn't like that much and if it wasn't for Ansel, don't think I would have finished it. Regina was introduced at the end of Aaron and Megan's story (which by the way, I think I am going to reread it after the last book). She was portrayed as a smart, tough cookie but in this book, she became this young gullible childish teenager and very kiddish. I can understand not being knowledge in sex but here Regina was not knowledge in almost everything, even though it was said how she was independent and all before she was captured. Why the drastic change to her? Her character? And her overall presence? Regina was also portrayed as a door mat who does what his master has said to do. They didn't have dates or whatnot and no outings and that's why it was not the same as the Greys but as lame as possible. Why embark in an area if you don't know how to get out? Ansel, man just like Aaron, he is bae all the way. I was hoping I would found the type of relationship where it's the white male with nazi tendencies falling for the black chick and then came all of the racialism coming their way, but it was more like a kid playing at being a nazi and playing at the role of being with a black person. This story had lack a real of reality check with these two and not until we reached the 80% mark did I see big time actions worthy to consider giving it a some what good score. The appearance of Megan was also a good touch and that's what made me want to reread their story again. In any case it's still was good and was nice to hear from Ansel. How come his first name never made knowledge within the book? How about his past? Did hid mom abused him physically as well? Or was it only mentally? Some of the vast questionnaire that I had for this story which stopped me from enjoying it to the fullest.
On hearing what Sorio did to his cousin Regina, I knew that Tyler Ansel Knox wanted to raise him from the dead to kill him again. Ansel's childhood abuse from his mother caused him to need the ultimate control in his life. He grew up thinking he was not deserving of love from anyone, thus his fascination with BDSM. Even this was not satisfying to him because all of his sub-missives left him, that is until he met Dr. Regina Delgado. He knew he was in trouble when he first met her. They were of similar tortured souls. He had two weeks to persuade her to be his sub before Aaron and Megan returned from their honeymoon. Regina was very hesitant citing her lack of experience and her cousin destroying all of her desires for her not being a good candidate. Aaron would not give up and Regina became HIS GINA, giving her the safety, control and strength that she lost with the abuse of her DG6 family. Aaron was in love and did not admit it to himself but he would do anything he could to keep Gina in his life. If she left him, he vowed to track her down. That as what he had to do.
Keta wrote a very intriguing story about the different affects abuse has on adults and those adults finding what they needed and desired the most, true love. I'll have to admit the reading about BDSM is not my cup of tea and I found the set up in discussing the background, necessary but a bit boring. The plot definitely made up for it in the end with the unexpected twist. The Knox cousins both finally get what they needed, craved and desired with very special women.
Yes! Another amazing book by Keta Kendric. This is the long awaited follow-up to her Twisted Minds series with the story of Aaron's cousin, Ansel and boy oh boy, it did not disappoint! Ansel is another intense, dominant, crazy AF Knox man. He might even be a bit crazier than Aaron actually, but that will not stop you for falling head over heels for this character. He's dark and super intense but he's met his match in Regina. I really really loved that character, btw. She was written with such care as a woman who has suffered unimaginable emotional and physical trauma, but still able to maintain her innocence and strength at the same time. She has insecurities most women have about their appearance, bodies and desirability, but when you have suffered emotional trauma, to the point of PTSD, it's 10X worse. Ansel had the ability to peel those layers and help her discover the amazing woman she is within. They are both really flawed people and at the same time, are absolutely perfect for each other. Are they ready for love? Well, this isn't your run-of-the-mill romance novel, folks. This is really wild, but oh so enjoyable. Ms. Kendric has a unique talent for writing sex scenes and she totally does not disappoint with the further inclusion of D/s relationships and BDSM lifestyles. This was a thoroughly enjoyable novel. I really couldn't put it down. You get so invested in these characters, you won't want to either.
Oh me, oh my do I love crazy cousin Ansel!! Keta has done it again and gave us all what we were craving. And the chemistry between the good doctor Regina and Ansel is five alarm fire hot. We find out more how deeply Regina's captivity affected her, and small bits about Ansel's past that made him the way he is. But when he convinces her to get down and dirty in his play room, they both realize this relationship is something that can thrive outside the bedroom. And boy does Ansel bring the crazy just in case you forget exactly who he is. But still the threat of DG6 coming to take Regina is ever present. They both are comfortable in who they have become through tragedy, but are uncertain on what they could be for each other. This is definitely a must read. So Keta Kendric, please keep giving us more of your delightfully twisted stories!
No long writing... this is hands down another great read by Keta Kendric. Omg Aaron and Ansel....lawdddd lol I love you both. I like Regina's easy nature. She's the balance for crazy Ansel but Megan will be my all time favorite crazy heroine foe Keta's books. I highly recommend this book. In fact i might just read it a second time lol.
This was one of the best dark romance books I've read in a long time. It was dark & classy with just enough nasty to make you.......Meow. I loved the chemistry between Aaron & Megan, but the flames between Ansel & Gina was enough to engulf anyone brave enough to read this story. Keta held nothing back with Ansel & Regina. While Ansel was obsessed with Gina, I was obsessing over him. Amazing work Keta, looking forward to more of your amazing writing!!!Knox Men..... Forever
I'm obsessed with this series. Author Keta Kendric takes being Twisted to a whole new level. She make you embrace it, need it and yes fall head over heels in love with it. I need more of it. Lol You must read the first three books in this series to get the full impact behind Twisted Obsession. Ansel and Regina take you on a ride so Twisted that they find it hard to understand. With Revenge, Murder and Mayhem lurking in the background and around every corner. Author Keta Kendric gives you a book you can really talk about long after your done reading it. She adds a Sweet touch of BDSM to get your juices flowing and keeps you intrigued.
After finishing Megan and Aaron's story I was hoping to find out about Ansel and Regina. Let me tell you I was not disappointed. Ansel is a crazy SOB who was attracted almost instantly to Regina. Regina is a doctor who had suffered horribly at the hands of her "family." It seems like they are meant to be. She helps calm his dark side and he helps her see how strong she really is. This is a great story. There are quite a few BDSM scenes so be prepared. They aren't raunchy it over the top though so I think everyone will like them. Please please read this story.
Ansel.....what can I say????? Wowll!!🔥🔥🔥but crazy as shite!!!. Regina been through although a lot but still remain gentle and sweet with a little crazy herself. Perfect match. Regina was able to calm him down and make him see that he is can still be loved even with all the crazy things he has done in the past. Good to see Aaron and Megan again.
Keta Kendric has done it again! Twisted Obsession brought the Twisted Series all together in a sexy, sensual and mind blowing way. Ansel and Regina were definitely meant to be. They both come from pasts that only the two of them can understand. Ansel, the protector and Regina, the redeemer; both finding love neither thought they deserved or ever would find.
Ansel is so like his cousin Aaron. They will do anything to protect the women they love. Regina has had so much tragedy happened to her. Ansel is just the man she needs. I love them together. I am so glad she got her revenge on her cousin. Can't wait to read your next book.
I really enjoyed Ansel and Regina’s story, although it would have been nice to know more about Ansel and what made him who he is. We receive a tiny glimpse of his childhood. My heart broke for Regina finding out what really happened to her parents. Aaron and Megan sighting.
Ansel and Regina were two damaged souls that clicked so well together. There was so much action and angst involved. I deducted a star because having Regina magically produce a syringe while captured and tied down was really beyond believable. It moved the story along but robbed the scene of the before felt intensity.
Took me a while to finish this book but it was so good!! Great read. These men don’t play when it comes to their women. Can’t wait to see what we get next from Keta.
5 Stars for this IRR BDSM Suspense Romance. You have serious Super Alpha male that although he is “broken” from past trauma still is able to express his feelings. Regina our heroine although quiet and damaged from what life has thrown her way is strong and can be defiant. The chemistry is off the charts . You won’t be disappointed if you read this book!
I have been waiting for this book. Loved every minute of it. Loved the story and the twist ,never saw that coming, I hope there are more of the series and couple. Great work Keta! Bravo!
This was the 2nd book of this series that I have read, and it was just as AWESOME as the 1st book! Yet, it was different enough that it didn't feel like I was reading the same book.
I am glad this final chapter was written. Ansel and Regina so belonged together. The passion, chemistry and love. I enjoyed how Ansel brought out the freak in Regina and her bringing out his emotions.
