3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because this one worked a bit better for me than the first one.

Well this one was a little more complex but every bit as good as the first one...

Ethan Stone and Ben Cronin are two of the body guards that we met in 'Shipped' the first book in this series and we met this pair when the security company that they worked for assigned them to protect Lucas and Ryan.

'Sentinel' for all intents and purposes picks up where 'Shipped' left off with the focus shifting from but not

A Joyfully Jay review.

It took me several weeks to read Sentinel. I kept picking it up and setting it down after reading a chapter or two. There’s nothing intrinsically wrong with it save for the fact it’s boring. And it really shouldn’t have been. Sentinel is the second in the Until You series and follows Shipped. This book isn’t a sequel, but it does reference events from Shipped and has characters that carry over from that novel. So while you can easily enjoy Sentinel as a standalone,

While I think book was intended to be a stand alone in the series, I feel like I missed a lot by not reading the first book. The blurb indicated these were emotionally distant men but they were anything but that in this book. Additionally, the prior 2 year work relationship between Ben and Ethan was very confusing and maybe I would have understood it better from the first book.

For instance, what kind of work partners were they? Ben says he was in love with Ethan practically the minute he met hi

Sentinel is a gripping, emotional story by Karrie Roman.

Ethan is reunited with Ben, after leaving without a word years ago. Together they go on a mission to find Ethan's sister's twin daughters who were being held by a cult. The girls are just 2 years old.

The whole story is compelling, with a plot that's intriguing, and a wonderful flow. This is a complex story involving some tough issues.

Ethan's running from his past, and has been hiding for a while. His story is difficult to deal with, as he i

much better than the first one, loved the story and the mc`s.
only the rescue took a bit too long in pagetime.
but a good story, only the instalove/lust between the mc`s is
somewhat strange when you are in the bush, bush in the middle
of a rescue mission and have only minutes to get going.
but it is a novel, not real life.

it is a fun and fast reading book, about second chances

Now I need to pick up Shipped before the next book is released ;) Nothing like back-tracking...

Confession time... I've done it again. I picked up the second book in a series before reading the first. Even though I didn't feel lost at all while reading Sentinel, I still want to go back and read Shipped, the first book in the Until You series. Not just because I want to get to know Ryan and Lucas better, but because I want to see where it all began, especially for Ethan and Ben.

There was so much

Although you could read this as a stand alone I really think you will enjoy it a lot more if you read book 1. The two MC's from book one play a fairly substantial role in this book and both the MCs of this book are introduced in book one. A lot of the events from book one are also mentioned in this book and I believe you may feel just a little lost or at least as if you were missing something if you haven't read the first book. Eventually, the author lets you know everything from book one but it ...more

At almost 40, Ethan, now a bodyguard after leaving his career in law enforcement, has had a long road as he tried to come back from the horror he had discovered too late that was being perpetrated by his own flesh and blood, his older brother Stewart, who was also a policeman. The knowledge of his brother's heinous actions had required Ethan to turn Stewart in to face prosecution and prison. Ethan's actions had caused a permanent rift between him and his parents, who had turned ther back on Etha ...more

This was an awesome follow up to Shipped (book 1). We met Ethan and Ben as part of Lucas and Ryan's security team, and Ben got seriously hurt at the end. There was a reveal of information about Ethan's past which made him fear the reaction of Ben (whom he was having some feelings for) and he ran.

This starts off pretty much right where the last book ended--with Ethan running. A couple of weeks later, he gets a call from his sister who needs help, and Ben happens to be around for this. The two guy

This is the first book I have read by this author and it definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed this story and I love the characters. It is well-written, fast-paced, has lots of action, is full of hot men and has an intriguing storyline. Ethan and Ben have been hiding their attraction from each other ever since they met and Ben is hurt and angry when Ethan leaves town without seeing him after he is shot. When they meet up again they are finally ready to admit their feelings for each other ...more

Wow. I really enjoyed this a lot. I received an ARC copy and this was honestly one of the best books I’ve read in a while. (First five star review in recent memory.) Memorable plot and characters.
This is apparently the second book in a series but it isn’t necessary to have read the first one to enjoy this one still (now I need to go back and read the first one while waiting for #3!).
Ben and Ethan have backgrounds working in the military and police respectively. In the previous book Ben had been

Ethan couldn’t face Ben when his secrets were revealed and Ben was hurt because of it. He has wanted Ben for a long time. He ran as far as he could and only came back because his sister needed him. When he discovered that Ben was there too the confrontation wasn’t pleasant.

Ben had been in love with Ethan for two years. When Ethan left without a word, Ben was crushed. When they meet again it’s to find Ethan’s kidnapped nieces. They go into danger together. Learning along the way that they love ea

Great add to the series. Ethan and Ben's story is full of action and a intense connection you'll not want to put this one down. Each of these guys have a different side, they are different with makes them mix well. There is action, romance and some emotional moments that made the story flow. I loved this story and it had me guessing what would happen next, add in some great side characters and I can't wait for the next. I recieved an ARC from the publishers through Netgalley. Thank you, guys.
I have again not done my research right and started to read the second book of the series without reading the first one first...Nevertheless, I quite enjoyed this book. I got to know the characters as the book proceeded and they managed to win a spot in my cold heart. This is a great m/m read and I quite recommend it to everyone who wants to read a story about two cinna rolls falling in love. I can't wait to reread it after

I was given this ARC by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Ethan Stone and Ben Cronin are private security guards for actors Lucas and Kyle (from Book 1-Shipped). After saving them from a burning building, Ethan passes out from smoke inhalation and Ben is shot, recovering in the hospital. When the paparazzi dig up dirt on Ethan's past, he's too worried about Ben's disappointment to see him and he takes off for another job.

Later when Ethan's sister calls needing help, he

In Shipped (Book#1) Ben gets shot and Ethan abandons him, but it plagues him for his reasons why. Ben is a fun loving guy but Ethan leaving gutted him. Now all he has to do is get Ethan to see things a different light.

It takes the kidnapping of Ethan's nieces for Ethan to truly get his head out of his ass. Thankfully with the help of Lucas and Ryan (book 1) and Ben's brother Cameron and FBI agent, Alec things are able to work things out.

This is a romantic suspense with stubborn heroes. How can

I read this as standalone but I'd recommend to start with the first book. Maybe then it works better for you.
There is nothing really wrong with the book, the characters are interesting, the plot good, the writing is fine. Yet, after a promising start, it was too long drawn-out, somehow, or maybe I wasn't in the right mood for this book when I read it, I can't say.
Thanks to publisher and author for providing a copy!
