A gripping thriller, I found this one hard to put down!
It starts at Seth and Charley's wedding reception, Seth goes looking for his new wife so they can cut the cake, but Charley has disappeared, seemingly vanished into thin air, and nobody has seen her go. This starts Seth asking questions. Did she run off? Or was she taken?

It is soon revealed that Charley has a tragic past. Her parents were brutally murdered when she was 13 years old, with Charley hiding in a cupboard upstairs so the intruder

Your wedding day should be the happiest day of your life right? For Seth, I’m afraid that’s just not the case, not when his wife seems to have vanished on the day of. It happens, though of course, Seth never thought it would happen to him!

Charley’s life isn’t an ordinary one. As a child, she went through something quite tragic. Something she’s hidden from her entire life. Her parents, Annie and Paul Willis were brutally murdered in their own home, with Charley hiding in a closet, mere f

It’s your wedding day! The happiest day of your life. For Seth that was certainly the case. Life is beautiful!

That is until his new bride Charley disappears from the wedding reception. How does that happen? No sign of her anywhere. Is this a bad prank? Or is she missing because of a decidedly far darker reason?

The Willis curse

Charley was the daughter of a famous couple. Fifteen years ago she survived an unthinkable night of horrors when her parents were murdered in their home. The killer… never

Can I just say I loved the first line of this book? “They say you can choose your family. That might be true, but you can certainly leave them off the guest list when you’re getting married.”

The story involves Charley, a bride who goes missing from her wedding reception. This story is interwoven with the story of Charley’s parents who were murdered in their house when Charley was just 13.

The present day story is told from Seth’s POV. In addition to his missing bride, he’s dealing with a mother

Charley was thirteen when her parents were killed, while she was upstairs hiding in the cupboard. After that horror, she went to live with her sister who was known as the wild child. The killer was never found. Now fifteen years later, it’s Charley’s wedding but after a few hours after she married to Seth, she disappeared and no one could find her! And that’s when that we find out more about the family curse!

She had plans for the future, why would you talk about all that and then disappea

What if after your bride says “I do,“ she has done disappeared???

Welcome to Seth’s life, after his bride goes missing during the reception.... turning his dream day into a nightmare... but would Charlie really run off? They were happy, weren’t they? Did somebody take her? But why? Seth knew Charlie had a bit of a past, but how well did he really know his wife?

This is a riveting thriller with short chapters that keep you glued to those pages! Told from multiple points of view, Seth in the present
It's not unheard of for a bride to get cold feet and not show up for her wedding, but when Charley Willis disappears after her wedding during the reception, no one knows what to think. Her new husband Seth Chambers can't think why she would run away - she was happy and looking forward to this day, they had not argued and as far as he knew she was not in trouble of any kind. He is sure she must have been abducted and, after fruitlessly searching the grounds and their home for her, he calls the po ...more

The Wife’s Secret by Kerry Wilkinson is a psychological thriller that is told from two timelines and different points of view. But not to worry, coming from an excellent writer the story was very easy to follow as it switches back and forth building the past and present.

Charley Willis and Seth Chambers have just gotten married and should be happily celebrating their wonderful day. However, the couple gets separated at their reception and when Seth goes to look for Charley she is no where to be f

I received a free e-copy of The Wife's Secret by Kerry Wilkinson from NetGalley for my honest review.

Loved it! Another gripping psychological thriller from Kerry Wilkinson.

Charley Willis, who at the age of thirteen, was found hiding in a cupboard in her home where her parents were murdered.

Fifteen years later, Charley is getting ready to get married to marry Seth. What should be the happiest day of their lives take a very scary twist. Charley is missing just hours after the wedding ceremony. Wh

The Wife's Secret is an interesting standalone novel and an original take on the "you don't know her as well as you think you do" trope. The story follows Charley and Seth who are newlyweds but not long after the wedding Charley disappears. I never include spoilers but let's just say that she isn't exactly who she said she was, and even though Seth is her husband, he really doesn't know the real Charley. What is this curse that has plagued her family for generations? Has it struck again, or is t ...more

A psychological thriller by author Kerry Wilkinson that for me doesn't quite hit the high standard of the other one's I have read by him. That is not to say it isn't a decent read because it is but when you set the bar so high it makes it so much more difficult. I though it was very strong at the start and I was instantly caught up in the plot but as the book went on I became less and less enthralled.

The novel is about bride Charley Willis whose parents were killed in their family home when she

Do we really know who we married? Only time will tell...

The Wife’s Secret is a compelling psychological thriller that I read in 24 hours. The first few chapters were slow to start, but then it picked up and I couldn't stop reading until I got to the end. This book does move between timelines with ease, in fact, the flashbacks make the story more intriguing. A definite winner with a great storyline, fantastic characters, and an ending you won't see coming! This was my first book by Kerry Wilkinso

Oh yes she had a BIG secret! Seth and Charley got married but Charley disappeared at the wedding reception and couldn't be found anywhere. Did someone kidnap her? Did she decide the marriage was a mistake? What happened? What wife disappears after the wedding and before the marriage even starts?

This was a great mystery filled with tension and intrigue. Charley had quite a past that Seth didn't know about and it was fun discovering what actually happened. I liked both Seth and Charley and kind of

The happiest day of Seth’s life turns into a miserable one when his bride Charley disappears on their wedding night. With no one knowing and no clues about her whereabouts the police get involved.Charley is well known to the police as she survived a vicious attack in her home when she was 13 years old that ended in both her parents getting killed. Charley along with her sister Martha tried moving on and she built a life for herself but maybe her past and the killer finally caught up on her.

Usually, when I read a book like this, I know exactly what’s going on way too early in the book. In this one, Wilkinson kept surprising me.

While I’m not the biggest fan of books with flashbacks, Wilkinson uses them well here, slowly building a picture that leads to a horrifying truth.

The book is highly suspenseful definitely kept me guessing.

As for the end? There’s a surprising darkness there that was very satisfying.

An excellent read!

Kerry Wilkinson is an author that never disappoints me! I tend to scoop up his books as soon as they are available request and read. Often times, I don't even read the synopsis because I know I'll like whatever he writes. After Seth and Charlie get married, Charlie goes missing from their reception. Seth knows of Charlie's past: her parents were killed in a horrific murder and Charlie was the only survivor. The murderer was never caught. But Seth doesn't know everything about Charlie.

Domestic suspense thriller. What if the woman you've married turns out to be someone you didn't know at all?

The Willis family seems to be followed by a curse of tragedy. Parents Annie and Paul, "Everyone's mum and dad" are famous for their books and television presence. When they are murdered one night, their 13-year-old daughter, Charley, is found by her sister Martha hiding in the wardrobe upstairs. The killer was never found. Fifteen years later, Charley marries vet Seth Chambers -- and goes

I loved the book. Wife, Charley, disappeared one hour after the wedding ceremony, and Seth was left alone amidst the police investigation and media frenzy. This was not the first time that such a thing has happened to Charley, 15 years ago, her parents were brutally murdered at their family home, with Charley hidden inside the wardrobe.

The story was well written by Kerry Wilkinson, this was the first time when I hadn't minded the wavering timelines back and forth, multiple pasts and present. Mo

I am a massive fan of this author's books and his stand alone psychological thrillers that have been released have been brilliant - and having read this one for me it is possibly his best yet!

I loved the plot for this story, the suspense that is created is great. I did guess quite a bit of the plot but there were twists still that I didn't see coming and it was a completely additive read that I read from start to finish the day it landed on my Kindle.

She didn't see what happened downstairs and couldn't describe the murderer. In spite of top priority the murder case has never been solved and the murderer never has never been caught.

The Wife’s Secret by Kerry Wilkinson is a psychological thriller.

First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Seth Chambers marries the love of his life. At his wedding reception, his new wife disappears. Although they had known each other for a few years, Seth discovers he doesn’t know her very well. Yes, he knows her tragic past involve

This was an immediately intriguing suspense thriller by an author who is new to me, but has an impressive back catalogue, that I look forward to sampling in future. While I’ve read a lot in this genre this year, I still didn’t guess what was going on, and I also liked the main story being told from a male perspective for a change. Despite the fact that my husband is also called Kerry, I had assumed that the author was female!

Seth Chambers is trying to find his wife, Charley - not so unusual, but

This was a great book to read. The wife has a secret and boy is it a big one!!!!! There was great build up through out the book to keep you guessing what this secret is and to keep you fully interested in the story. The author does a great job of weaving characters in and out so you never truly know what this big secret is until the very end.

It's suspenseful, it's intriguing, it's riveting, it's gripping, it's mysterious and while this is a thriller, it was fun to read. I thoroughly enjoyed thi

The Wife’s Secret is the second book I’ve read written by Kerry Wilkinson and I’m fast becoming a fan. OMG, what an excellent story. It made chills running down my spine throughout the whole book. There was constantly an atmosphere of suspense, secrecy and anticipation.

The author puts you on a time machine and zaps you frequently to and from the past.

The story is heartbreaking and although I had figured it out towards the end, it did not reduce the reading pleasure in the least.

Oh yes, speaking about the end ..., but I will leave that for you to discover when you devour the book and believe me, y

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this arc.

I requested this arc because it was written by Kerry Wilkinson and I've very much enjoyed his Jessica Daniels stories. This is not a procedural but a stand alone "psychological suspense thriller." This sub-genre is not my favorite these days as most seem to be fairly predictable stories and include the requisite irritating "clueless" main character / victim. Based on the characterizations I found in his Jessica Daniels stories, I requested this one

Wow this was an amazing book that gripped me from fist page to last. Still thinking about it! This author is one of my favourites and he just keeps getting better with every book. This book was a fast paced roller coaster and I loved it so much, even more so as it made me question everything I thought I knew multiple times. Still thinking about the characters. Stunning and absolutely brilliant! One of my favourite books of the year!
