lying blood tests, and tightly kept secrets, and barely escaping kidnappers. oh my!

its always an experience to read debut novels by up-and-coming authors, and this was no exception. samantha martin was able to create an intriguing plot set in a dangerous world at war, and this is one of those books where you are thrown right into the middle of it all. its a bit of a slow burn, in that not much is explained right away. you kind of just have to go along with the flow and discover everything along

This book had me hooked from the very beginning. The way it dives immediately into the plot had me asking questions from page one. The character development and voice is well written and thought out. The cliffhanger was we done where I have a good amount of questions but still felt satisfied at the end of the book... cant wait for the second one!
