This book tells the story of the process of moving to Bournemouth to set up a new church from scratch, on the back of numerous similar failed attempts in London, and the bumpy and scary journey to success St Swithun's has travelled since. Tim demonstrates, through his story, how he has pushed through failure and disappointment with tenacity to trust in God and his plan and timing - and how hundreds of people are discovering faith in Jesus Christ as a result.
What sounded like a boring title and a chore book to read turned out to be a thrilling story. The waiting, the setbacks, Tim embarrassing honesty (I went red faced for him) of his stories, apparent stumbling blocks became onward steps on the journey nearer the goal and to an achievement of planting a six hundred strong church. A must read for every would be pastor, especially Church of England ordinand or would be ordinand.
Amazing book recounting the journey of planting two churches on the south coast of England. Tim is humble, wise and thoughtful fella and it is inspiring to hear him narrate not only his experience but the disposition that has carried and carries him still through all the challenges.
I lived this book. It inspires me to be a better leader, to want more of God in my life and in Gods church. A bit rambling at times but the story is good.
