This novella was previously part of The Tempting Luck Anthology. I wasn't having much of it the day my flight plan was changed at a moment's notice from one small country to another. Still it was a minor inconvenience. There were only a couple of roads and a hundred miles between my diversion and my destination. The transition would be easy... or so I had thought. At first, when my onward journey appeared thwarted at every turn, I thought my luck had run out. However, by the time the day was over, I had begun to wonder if the incumbent weather diverting my plane may have been due to divine intervention. Saints Days, snow, and holidays had left me stranded in Dublin alone. I had needed the luck of the Irish that day, and the Irish believed nothing was luckier than a rare four-leaf clover. Yet it turned out nothing was as rare or as lucky as the Daisy I found in the Lucky Shamrock public house. Lucky Me.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

We all know this story.

Guy is famous. Gets stuck somewhere unknown. Falls for the girl who first cares for him. The end.

Sounds like the terminal - Tom hanks movie - but less painful probably. And someone’s wedding is in it?

I enjoyed these two. Their banter, the wowza steam, the confessions, the Irish setting (even though I can’t for the life of me understand Irish people or their words), and just the fun quickness of this novel. I just rooted so hard for these two. Aaah also reminded me of another novel I should buy with those wench comments. Heheh.

But..I enjoyed my very first novel by K.L.

And I cannot wait to read more by K.L.

Until the next read,

This is a very sweet and quick read of Daisy and Jamie, he is a rockstar and a pub manager who had a crush for years. The chemistry between these two is hot, they are two sides of the coin and they both work, opposites attract and all that. Great novella that will have you entertained for a bit and put a smile on your face.

Lucky Break is book one of KL shandwicks new series. I've come to enjoy the words written by this Author. This story was short, simple, and full of fun and frolics. Jamie, a big rockstar, is stranded in Dublin due to adverse weather. When he lands himself the only digs Dublin has to offer he comes face to face with a fan that has had a crush on him for years. The heat flows, the tension mounts, and both characters find that their connection is more than a one night stand. It is a short story and you do need to go onto book 2 to find out what happens next.

Rockstar / St Patrick's Day / insta love / romance

⭐⭐⭐/5 🌶️/5

It was cute. Too unbelievable, but cute. A rockstar on his way to a wedding in Belfast gets diverted to Dublin on St Patrick's Day due to snow, where he instantly falls in love with the bar manager, his biggest fan.

Fate and a whole lot of luck.

Jamie's day goes from bad to worse when the weather gods just aren't on his side. He winds up stuck in Ireland, now, I can think of a lot of worse things than partying with the Irish on St Patrick's day but Jamie is trying to get to his bandmate's wedding on time and hits one brick wall after another in his mission to get there. With a dead phone, no hire cars and no hotels available, he finds himself being taken in by a landlady of a pub.

Daisy has loved Jamie from the world-famous rock band DisRoyaled for years so when he turns up at her pub she's floored. Daisy is a down to earth, adorable, no mouth to filter kind of woman. I loved her!

Jamie and Daisy have instant chemistry. Two great characters that have me excited to read more and wanting to know how it all turns out with them.

Fun, flirty, hot, Lucky Break is the kind of novella you will read in one sitting and will leave you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book and the continuation of their journey in Lucky Chance.

Told in first person, Jamie's pov.

i originally bought this story in the anthology, it has now released under a new name and independent. I have however re-read as its been a while, my review however still stands, i loved it just as much as the first time and have bought it again as this time we will get the rest of the series of four books.
This book was the reason I bought this anthology, even though I know it will be released on its own a bit later in the year, I was not let down in any way it was so worth it for this story alone. It made me chuckle many times during the reading. Daisy’s sass is so refreshing and she is totally honest, often saying stuff aloud that she doesn’t mean to or when she can be overheard. I look forward to reading more from this couple in Lucky Dips in a few months. The characters are down to earth and loveable, easy to like and want to know more of.
The story is easy to follow and quite believable, especially knowing how the weather can close things down both in Ireland and the UK, grinding everything to a halt and shutting it down. For a Rock Star used to fans throwing themselves at him Daisy’s upfront attitude and candor has Jamie completely at her mercy. It is nice to have characters you can relate and connect to and this book definitely has them, it’s sweet but also has its funny moments. Awesome read.

Loved Lucky Break!

Lucky Break is the first book in Author KL Shandwick’s LuvLuck novella series and it was a quick read that I absolutely loved. It is a longer length novella, and combined my absolute favourite ROCKERS with the dynamic of being able to be squeezed in during any busy period where you just want to disappear from life and read.

You’ve read the blurb, so what I’ll elaborate on is Ms Shandwick’s innate ability to capture the essence of the Jamie Fontaine shedding his rocker skin and just living ‘normally’. Written from his POV, he’s met a feisty, stunning and direct speaking, potty-mouthed Irish publican of The Lucky Shamrock, who has absolutely captured his interest. It’s every female fan’s dream, and Daisy’s place you’d be somewhat dubious and we absolutely see that.

I also have to mention that I adore the subtle and understated humour that is laced throughout. There is everything packed into this powerhouse of words to keep you hooked.

Join them, the barflies and those in The Lucky Shamrock in the city of Dublin as they celebrate St. Patricks day, the busiest day of the year where no man will find a hotel room for love nor money; unless the hotel clerk has a relative with a pub looking for extra help, and where budding romance might bloom after all. I loved it.

Jamie Fontaine, lead singer of DestRoyed did not expect to be stranded in a strange city in the middle of a snow storm. Luck of the Irish? Whats that?
This novella captures the whimsical side and the fun of a St Patricks day celebrations that he never would have thought to have witnessed. When he could not find a ride to Belfast, no train, cab or plane was going anywhere near Belfast and being the St Paddy day celebrations, he found he was stranded without accommodation too! Phone battery flat and the charger went with his PA to New York. No need to remember phone numbers or passwords either right! That was what he had a PA for!
As Irish luck would have it, he was offered a bed at a local pub that was hosting celebrations for St Paddy's day, all he had to do was wash glasses and clear tables! Easy, right?
That was until he set eyes on Daisy! Nobody knew who he was, but Daisy did, she had been fangirling about Jamie for years and could not believe her luck when he walked through her pub door.
She hit on him, as that is what every Rock stars expects, right? Trouble was, Jamie felt more and it was hard to convince Daisy he was not going to have a one night stand with her and leave.
A beautiful start to Jamie and Daisy's story and I am very interested in where it leads!

This is the first book I have read by K.L. Shandwick. I have several on the TBR list and finally dived in. It was a great read. Jamie is a member of the DistRoyed band. He has just finished a tour and is on his way to a bandmates wedding. When the weather interferes. He is stranded in Dublin on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. There are no cars to rent or hire and no where to stay. Then someone takes pity on him. His only luck is that no one seems to recognize him. A pub owner allows him to stay in her spare room as long as he helps out. Daisy can’t believe who is standing before her and she isn’t going to let the chance pass her by. She has had a crush on Jamie since forever. She takes her shot. She never thought that Jamie would like her in return and not just as a one-night thing. Jamie is completely taken with Daisy. She makes him feel something that he hasn’t felt in a long time. Peace. I loved this read. Jamie and Daisy have instant chemistry. They flirt so much and just click. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Great job K.L. Shandwick.

Fast paced rockstar romance, novella. Jaime, our Rockstar gets stranded in Dublin, which was where his private plane was diverted to due to a snow storm.

Because he has basically no other choice, for a bed to crash in for the night he agrees to help out at a bar on the weekend of St. Patrick’s day. He’s hoping that he will not be recognized but Daisy, the bar owner knows exactly who he is, her rockstar crush!

Because it’s a novella, things move quicker than I normally like. Jaime and Daisy have undeniable chemistry, and share some steamy, spicy moments together, but she can’t believe that he’s interested in more than a typical rockstar one night fling. He’s intrigued because he is. The story ends with them seemingly embarking on the possibility of a relationship.

Jamie was down on his Luck and he meets Daisy, and everything changed. Daisy is instantly attracted to Jamie knowing who he is. Jamie finds Daisy sassy and cute, and surprised him, and couldn’t believe how quickly his luck had changed. Daisy’s friend had told her he looked like Jamie Fontaine, but she knew exactly who he was.
They are instantly attracted to each other, and they have a fun friendly banter between them.
Jamie still has a wedding to go to no matter how much he wants to stay with Daisy he can’t, but somehow, he has to convince her that seeing where they go is what he really wants.
Can’t wait to read the rest in the series.

This short story comes with all the feels...
A beautiful background of an Irish town, locked up with snow , in a pub no less !
A feisty, strong landlady called Daisy, and her lifelong crush Jamie the rockstar.
This is a very well written story that brings to life the frustrations of a rockstar without his entourage, gasp ! Jamie finds himself stranded , in all senses of the word, no place to go and no way of calling anyone for help. Never having been to Ireland he doesn't know how friendly the locals are. So when pretty Daisy comes to his rescue, Jamie finds himself in a special place , at a special time, where drinks flow and hearts bloom.... Beautiful.

I loved this sweet, fun, sexy novella, it made me smile and swoon and left me wanting more from these two fabulous characters.......seemingly out of luck and stuck in a snowstorm in the wrong city without a room or a phone rockstar Jamie and sassy, kind, caring Dublin pub manager Daisy, who's had a crush on said rockstar for years. What a lucky break for me too, there is more yay!

I loved their initial meeting, their interactions and their insta but smoking hot chemistry. They were both very likeable and despite their very different circumstances they seemed so well suited. I'm looking forward to finding out how and if they can make it work.

“Lucky Break” Book 1 of the LuvLuck Novellas by K.L. Shandwick is a spirited short read filled with humour, sass and a whole lotta on fire chemistry. Jamie Fontaine meets Daisy O’Donnell quite by chance, like fate intervened, and you could just imagine the sparks flying! Daisy is this cute n sassy barmaid (manager) who’s head over heels crazy for lead singer of the ever famous band DistRoyed, Jamie Fontaine. And said famous rock star happens across Daisy’s doorstep on the busiest time at the bar…St. Patrick’s Day weekend. I loved Daisy’s character and the banter between the two is comical. I can’t wait to read what comes next for these two! ~Angie❤️

not too bad, but wasnt really anything i cared for either. it had relatively good smut, but it was really short, and i think it could have definitely been a bit longer with a more substantial plot. the plot was pretty fun, i just wish it had of gone for a little while longer, you know? the characters were also pretty good, and the setting of it being in ireland for most of it was actually pretty impressive, and made the book that much more fun. i love books set in places other then america, especially as a non american, it probably one of my favorite things. check this out if you like smutty little novellas.

5-star review of Lucky Break (Luvluck Novellas #1) by K L Shandwick
Having read numerous books by K.L. Shandwick, I was excited to start the Luvluck series. This is rock star Jamie Fontaine and Daisy’s story and although a quick read, it packed a punch.
When Jamie finds himself stranded in Dublin without means to contact anyone, meeting Daisy, the manager of a pub, she offers him help, but not in the way he expected.
From the moment they met they had a connection. The banter was witty, the chemistry sizzled, the characters engaging and all in all made for an entertaining, quick read.

Lucky Break is book 1 in the Luvluck Novellas written by the talented author K.L. Shandwick. This story was previously named Lucky Me and was part of the Tempting Luck anthology 2018. This is rock star Jamie Fontaine and Daisy’s fun and charming story. He's the lead singer of DestRoyed a famous rock band and she's the bar manager of The Lucky Shamrock, a pub in Dublin. He got stranded in Dublin do to a snow storm with no place to go and no way of calling for help. The story is fast pace, very well written and with lots of humor, banter, hot chemistry, and romance. I first read this story back in 2018 when it was released in an anthology. I have to say I'm totally in love with both this cover and story so enjoyed the chance for a re-read. Jamie and Daisy are total opposites but I think that's what makes them perfect for each other.

Jamie is a rockstar who finds himself stranded in Dublin on St Patrick's weekend, with no hopes of a hotel room for the evening he finds himself saved by sassy pub landlady Daisy.

A fab story and I cannot wait to read more of the story soon.

If you are looking for a fun, steamy read look no further than Lucky Break ( Luvluck Novellas #1). I was excited to see what direction Ms Shandwick was going to go with this series and I wasn’t disappointed because I loved everything about rock star Jamie Fontaine and Daisy’s story. This may be a quick read but it still packs a mighty punch.
Jamie is stranded in Dublin when bar manager Daisy comes to his rescue and what follows is an entertaining read that’s full of sizzling chemistry and witty banter. Great start to the Luvluck Novellas.

Pleasant wee read, and my first by K.L.
I did think, "Wow, she moves fast," with Daisy basically jumping Jamie before names were even exchanged but then thought it has to be quick with it being a novella. However, that's not the case, and I feel there was character depth shown in such a short read.
I'm going to my very first book festival soon & K.L. and many other authors who I haven't read are attending, so I'm trying to get a taste/read on as many new authors as possible. I'm glad I picked K.L. as one, I'll be continuing with this series.

OMG loved this story. Jamie finds himself stranded in Dublin on St. Patrick's Day. No rooms available but he's lucky enough to find a room in a bar, but he has to work for his room and board. The bar maid Daisy can't believe Jamie "rock star" is in her bar. She has always swooned over him and when he's in front of her she can't believe her dreams coming true. I so enjoy their flirting and pull towards each other. I can't wait to read more on where they are going!

Sometimes life throws you a curve that you don't expect. One that really gets you going.

Imagine being a rockstar and flying out of the country for a wedding and everything going wrong.

Imagine all the fun that can be had when you meet someone who when you least expect it, lights that fire for you.

Jamie and Daisy are really cute together and they are a steamy couple. This story was a quick read and left me wanting more!

I can't wait to read KL's next book!

I'm not generally a fan of an instalove story, so that put me off, as did the consistent slut shaming throughout the novella. For such a short read, it sure managed to make Shandwick's feelings on women who have casual, consensual sex really clear. The writing is stiff and the MC is really aggressively negative about Irish people, which is a weird choice for a novella set in Dublin. I didn't feel there was much substance here, sorry to say.

When this dropped into my library, my first thought was YES! A new series to dig my teeth into, then I realised it is a novella that introduces us to Jamie & Daisy, who meet in circumstances that fate must have had a hand in.
We are left desperate for more, but so thankful that’s it’s not too long to wait to see what lies in the future for them both
