I have been reading a lot of art tutorial books lately, including books that teach you to draw. This one from Barnes and Noble publishing is surprisingly good. Instead of wasting a lot of time explaining technical details, it just jumps right in with a lot of step-by-step tutorials of things you might actually want to draw. Some are pretty pedestrian, like citrus fruits, others are tricky, like a jumble of bar stools, but in the end you’ll end up with some pieces that are worthy of your fridge. It’s a good gift for the new artist who might struggle to fill a blank page.
