The new edition of the Staudinger is completely up to date in regard to care and guardianship issues. It considers the second Change of Care Law of 21.4.2005, which came into force on 1.7.2005. The regulations concerning conferment of authority for care as a private-autonomous regulation for the (mostly aged-dependent) case of loss of psychological independence have considerable practical significance. For issues which may occur in the various types of guardianship, approaches to solutions are effectively developed with incorporation of new jurisdiction and literature.
