In this first solo project by the founder of Mexico City's TEN Arquitectos and BGP Arquitectura, Gomez-Pimienta undertakes the complete design of a single audacious residential project--from the architectural concept to the objects contained within. In Casa GDL, Minimalist rigor finds expression in the superimposition of prisms, while Gomez-Pimienta's exquisite sense of design comes through in details like the railings, steps and glass floor. With texts by Yoshio Futagawa, Dominique Perrault and Miquel Adria, this volume presents a house where, in Adria's words, "the most obvious column is the one that isn't there, the central space is the one that is emptied out, and the most spectacular place is the one that can't be traversed."
