Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.
I like that Andy is starting to come to terms with being gay. I think Liz is fair to be upset about Connor and tia kissing, but she seems to have forgotten she did the exact same thing to her best friend only a few weeks ago. Like, literally. And she lied to Maria’s face, whereas at least both Connor and Tia confessed to what they did and apologised (whereas Liz kept lying, even after her best friend confronted her). I’m really enjoying this series and it actually seems more relatable than any of the others (though part of why I like them is simply cause they’re ridiculous). I also like that there’s more than one token person of colour in every book, and I feel like the author is trying to address more serious problems.
