“Can you tell me what happened tae her, how she ended?” — Magnus in 2381
Magnus is forced to travel to an uncertain future, to fight for a throne he doesn't want.
And he couldn't bring Kaitlyn, because it's too dangerous by far.
So Kaitlyn tries to live on without him. She's two hundred sixty-three years in the past now. Nothing but dust.
But there's a time travel vessel that's been lost. And a warrior who needs to be rescued.
And sometimes a history that 100% happened can still be changed.
Because it's not too late.
“I don’t want any help. I just want Magnus to come home.” —Kaitlyn 2018

He breathed out like a sigh. “If ye are nae strong enough, what will happen tae us?”
“I don’t know…”
He wriggled his fingers from my grasp and wiped the tears from my cheek. “Then ye need tae be strong enough, mo reul-iuil. We are countin’ on ye…”

This book was hard to read at the beginning because of the heartbreak you feel for Kaitlyn and Magus, but it's also the first time you read anything from his POV and that is amazing! This book had me reading at every possible moment and as fast as humanly possible just to get to the part where they reunite. Their reunion is bitter-sweet given what transpired with Bella. And i was partially angry that the author even put it in! really, after everything that has happened to them having to have Kaitlyn deal with betrayal - despite it being to SAVE her life, was hard for me to accept! but in the end it worked out, i think it helped bring a new intimacy level between Kaitlyn and Magus when he took control of the situation - which made things come around. Part of me wanted to shake Kaitlyn because he had to do it! i also want to say i hate Tyler, not because of anything he did, but just because in the future he is supposedly the one Kaitlyn ends up with - which cut Magus when the future computer told him. Although, i guess that doesn't really matter now right, maybe they use him as a cover in the future so the future doesn't find the paper trial - i don't know. and really, all i can do now is speculate and drive myself insane until the next edition. The writer is absolutely fabulous and this series is hands down one of the best series I've read in along time.
That’s it, I’m done with this story. I stuck with it for three books but this one is just awful. Terrible dialogue, horrible things happen and everyone is like “just get over it, it’s been 5 min”. The events in the future make zero sense because you don’t know how the world operates. The author does a lot of telling but doesn’t show any depth of feeling in the characters. It’s all superficial. Just garbage from beginning to end.
I love traveling through time with Kaitlyn and Magnus. They go through some ups and downs and I’m sure there’s more to come in the series but at least they find and keep each other in this book and I couldn’t be happier.
WARNING - if you haven't read the first 3 books do not start with this one. This book coninues the story of Kaitlyn and Magnus. Whether the past, present or future, this couple just can't catch a break. No matter what time they are in all they seem to find is pain and suffering. The reader can't help but want to see this couple finally find a happy ending - no matter what year the end up in but once again there are more tears than laughs in this book. The characters have continued to grow over the series and you can't help but hope there's a Happily Ever After in the near future.
Lady Miread takes Magnus to the future to fight for his father. He is kept a prisoner, and is only released to fight or workout. Then his father gives him a mistress, who is part of the resistance against his father. Meanwhile storms in Scotland send Kaitlyn searching for the time vessel. When she tried to use it, Magnus' father- Donnum pulls her to him in the future and rapes her. She eventually strangles and stabs him with a piece of mirror. Magnus takes her back to 1702 to hide, but they are found. So they go back to Kaitlyns time to begin again.
So thankful this one doesn’t end on a cliffhanger! Haha!! I am so enjoying these books. I really have loved seeing the progression of the characters. Watching Kaitlyn grow into her own badass self has been so good. There were many moments in this book where I had a pit in my stomach, but Ms. Knightly wrote those parts very well. They were hard to read but important to the story.
My goodness, this one was freaking jam packed with action and so many wild turns right from the start and I really was freaked out, not knowing where the story was going to take us.
In this Historical Romance/ Time Travel story, this fourth book has some really difficult times for Magnus and Kaitlyn as they are going through a grave turn and there is so much of hurt and emotional distress. And things really get darker in this one.
But Magnus this time has to go ahead in the future for a deal that he doesn't tell anyone what it is about to save Kaitlyn from harm. We go to 2381 where Magnus not only meets his father but the situation is next level dangerous and magnus has to fight, literally, for his life now.
Kaitlyn.. Oh my... I really felt for her so much.. She really faces tough time with magnus being gone and not knowing anything about him and if he would ever come back.
There's just so much happening in this one and yay... We get Magnus' narrator in this one and Shane East is the perfect magnus. Keira Stevens was amazing as always and the way she brings forth to make you feel all the emotions is crazy. Keira really went all out with the way she's enacted emotions in some scenes, just wow.
This one was definitely a roller-coaster start to end and many new things come to light and leaves more questions and problems open for the future.
But the emotional turmoil and the huge probable wall that comes between Magnus and Kaitlyn. Oh my goodness... I was so scared for them because a lot of things happen and yes, dark things, that definitely changes people and watching them both fight their demons and fight for their relationship had me so on the edge of my seat.
Zack, Emma and Quentin are freaking amazing as Magnus and Emma's family and they are the best. Hailey, Kaitlyn's bestie initially had me in doubts about her but I really like the way she's embraced Kaitlyn's secrets.
I really enjoyed reading this 4th book of the series. It had lots of intriguing adventures and excellent, twists and plots - especially in the case of his son Tyler by another woman whom Magnus was imprisioned with.
Magnus was worried about the historical records he found of Kaitlyn marrying Tyler beleiving that he was dead and had bore Tyler's child. As it turned out Tyler's birth name was the same as Magnus but he had used false documents with the name Tyler to travel to the future to rescue Kaitlyn from dying. These documents were then left with Kaitlyn for Magnus to use once he was able to return to the future to reunite with her. It was many years later after Kaitlyn went in search of Magnus in the past that Magnus found out about Tyler, and realised that the man who had haunted his dreams was actually himself. I have read the first 3 books in the series and have just started the 5th. My only negative is that Diana's books are uncecessarialy too long, with too much explicit sex scenes.
I think I am done with this series, at least for a while. This installment was darker and sadder than the previous three, and it sort of went off the rails for me around the 50% mark.
I did think the writing in this book was the best so far, and I really liked having chapters with Magnus' point of view as well and Kaitlyn's. I just don't think I can read five more books of "who's got the time-travel device?" It would be nice to have a different story with these characters.
Book 4 of the series. This will be my last. It’s an easy, romantic tale, but so much like Outlander. So many similarities. Magnus has scars across his back from being wiped and he is from the past, from Scotland. The big difference is that they have a time vessel and came move from time to time. In this book, they moved to the future, the year 2330. Magnus was brought there to fight for a kingdom by his crazy, insane mother. If he didn’t go, Kaitlyn would be in danger. Kaitlyn follows him and there is more violence and pain for both of them. There are 12 books in this series.
The things Magnus has done to make sure Kaitlyn is safe is just so wonderful, in this continuous story he goes to his mother and then vows to her he will.be the warrior she wants, if she leaves Kaitlyn alone. They go into the future to find his fathers kingdom, course its not what Magnus thought it would be. He is imprisoned and made to fight for his chance at the throne. Its well written and the characters are very different in this story. I recommend it with a 5 Stars review
OK it this was way to much back and forth - in and out of the past and future for me. And poor Kaitlyn! How many times must she be assaulted?? I did like how Magnus tried to heal the relationship after they came back from the future. Its an interesting premise if you don't think to hard on the validity of the time travel set up in the book--just concentrate on the relationship. I'm ready for story this to be over. I'm not sure it needed to be as long 3+ books.
I’m still not totally sold on this series. Though it still pushes me to find out what happens next. I thought Magnus’ departure after the loss of his child was unbelievable/unforgivable. I find Katelyn’s responses are immature at times and too much “millennial” for my taste. If I quit reading at this point, I’d always wonder how it ends. Additionally, I feel like this is a good draft, but needs polish. ( reminder- reviews are personal opinions).

I still can't decide do I want to continue on with this series or am I done I think it was the narrator Shane East that keeps me here. His voice is so sexy good pick for Magnus. I mostly listen to the audio but usually finish in reading the book. How can such a nice strong man have such wicked parents. How did Magnus use a air machine in the past did I miss something.
One of my readers also reads your books, so I decided I would see what the common thread was…too many to count. I don’t do time travel but I LOVE yours. The forever, no matter what happens kind of love is awesome. Magnus, what can I say but wowza. Kaitlyn is very much like my Rainie and I love her functional dysfunction. Love the page turning action, the depth of your characters, and description of the settings. Already ordered the next one.
I started reading the first book not really sure if it was going to be very good. Well I was mistaken and although not my usual genre of reading- who am I kidding I’m an Outlander super fan. It’s got the time travel, love & loss in it; but also a futuristic world with brutality and a conniving mother in law. If you’re looking for a light read then this is a good series
I liked the first book and the second. The 3rd one was meh but this one with the time jumps to the future was awful. The writing style seemed to change as well. It was not at all like any time travel romance and that is not meant to be a compliment. I’m not sure I’d ever read anything else by this author after reading this book.
The past the present and the future... book 4 is full of adventures and excitement and Magnus still lives Kaitlyn... I’m really falling for this series... I’m an Outlander fan and Reign and The Tudors and White Queen and Princess and this fits right in there... They’ve got to make this a movie.... ❤️
This series is just great! I read #4 in one sitting, didn't want to put it down. The characters are interesting, the plot is so well done. I am a fan of the "Outlander" books and always wondered what would happen if the time traveling was reversed. These books answer that very nicely, and without the pages and pages of history lessons that are so boring. I am a fan! Way to go, Diana Knightley!
My heart broke for Kaitlyn and Magnus and slowly over the course of the book healed. I absolutely loved this book. Their story gets greater every chapter. I can't wait to see what book 5 brings.
If you enjoyed the other books this one won’t disappoint with much more action. I also loved this book because there was so much of Magnus’ point of view.
I am hooked on this original time travel series! BUT... this one was kind of a filler... Not a lot resolved... I feel for both characters but I think he could have held out a bit longer. There was a lot left hanging. On to book 5.
Enjoying this series immensely. This was said one, so I laughed cried and got angry with this book, I'm glad Donnan is dead. I'm also glad magnus and Katlyn are together again.
Awesome book! Heart break, pain, sorrow, joy and happiness, this book had it all! This book was definitely the best so far. I feel like each book gets better and better! I read 150 pages in one go, because I just could not put it down! Need I say more?
Now that there is regular time travel, good and evil and renewed love, these books get successively more entertaining. Sometimes the action gets confusing but it’s excusable since it’s usually happening in a different time.
I am rereading the series because I loved it the first time. It’s even better the second time through. This book had the whole gambit of emotions and many plot twists that Ms. Knightley does so well. I highly recommend it!
