Katy Ames did it again! She wrote a beautiful story about Tessa and Tristan that was so entertaining, I could not put it down. Her writing is like a drug I’m addicted to and always searching for more.

This book is beautifully written. Everything is so vivid and beautiful and suspenseful. The storm was terrifying and the sexy time was electrifying. I loved it. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I loved how it did tie in the other two books in the series! You don’t have to read them in order but it makes more sense if you do! Katy Ames is a new one click author for me! I highly recommend this book.
Had no trouble getting hooked on this story, despite having not yet read the first two books in the series. Author has a unique style that layers emotion into practically every word, whether dialogue or narrative. Characters are relatable, flawed, and dimensional, and their story - while it follows a familiar story arc - is unlike any I've read before.

If you're looking for a romance that starts as a bit of a slow-burn, includes a little mystery, a few tugs on your heartstrings, and a whole lot o

Arc provided by author for honest review. When Tristan was first introduced in after the fall. I dont know what it was but I had this pull toward him. To know all about him. To get inside his side and find out what's really inside his heart. I was drawn to him in way that doesn't happen with most characters from book. So to say I like Tristan it putting really mildly. I'm crazy obbessed with the man with everything about him. Tristan is just everything you could want I'm a best friends, a lover, ...more

After the Storm is LIVE! For sale on Amazon and free in Kindle Unlimited.

Time to escape into an epic romance filled with secrets, surprises, moments of sweetness, one hell of a slow burn, and a blistering amount of sexiness.

After the Storm:
Tristan Hurst is tired of running. He’s spent every day since he was 16 trying to escape the consequences of one inexplicable, horrible night. So when his cousin buys a Caribbean resort and offers him a job away from the family firm, Tris

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. This book is fantastic and definitely my favorite in the series. I love to see two characters (hero and heroine) struggle with their personal issues as well as their feelings for one another. The characters are not only relatable but loveable. This is a page-turner and a must-read. Katy Ames is the next breakout author and I won't be surprised when her books make it to the big screen.

I enjoyed the suspense aspect of After the Storm, but the rest of the story, primarily the romance, just didn’t work for me. The main characters, Tristan and Tessa, were inconsistent, acting in inexplicable ways, and making bad decisions that didn’t fit their personalities, whose only purpose was to add drama. The entire story takes place over the course of approximately a week. Tristan, a man who is carrying more than his share of baggage regarding his relationship with his villainous

After the Storm can be read as a standalone, but l believe it would be better to read in order! Have read book1 kinda wish l had read book2 but that's ok l will go back and read! The story and characters were fantastic, this was a slow build/burn but when Tessa & Tristan got there WOW, both hurting from there pass! Awesome ending Tessa & Tristan are made for one another!

After the Storm was absolutely amazing and I loved it so much! It was a sweet, sexy, suspenseful, and entertaining standalone contemporary romance, and I would highly recommend it and the entire Seven Winds series! Katy Ames did a phenomenal job with the storyline and characters, and I loved her writing style. I fell head over heels in love with Tristan, Tessa, and their story, and I have a feeling you will too. The conclusion was perfect and I was ecstatic with the epilogue. So what are you wai ...more

After the Storm will overwhelm and enchant you. Full of secrets, uncertainties, deep rooted longing repressed under years of being told not to feel mixed with a sexual tension thick enough to cut with a knife and the adorably awkwardness of being forced to be social made me fall in love with Tristan and Tessa. Taking a trip to the island will leave you with a warm fuzzy feelings of love and friendship. I adored this story so much! Tristan is a prime candidate for tour next book boyfriend!

The third in the Seven Winds series does NOT disappoint. As always, Katy Ames' writing draws you right in to the characters and the setting of these books. I was particularly intrigued with how the antagonist behind the scenes was tied to all each novel in the series and yet each book had their own set of protagonists that you loved to root for. Tessa and Tristan make you love them with all their broken pieces. #brokeheartboy I love the island, the resort, and all the people that make this serie ...more

Jumping into a book three in a series, by a new author to me, didn't dim the enjoyment of this book a bit. Yes, there were moments that I wished I had read the previous books to get more background information, but this story stands on its own and stands tall.
The writing is -- I use this word too much but honestly, even thesaurus couldn't help me here -- it is amazing. Each scene and dialogue is so packed with emotion, suspense, secrets, and this sizzling energy of something sinister lurking ju
This was such an enjoyable romance! A little drama. Some suspense. A taste of mystery. And a whole lot of lovin’. I don’t know why I like romances that involve cooking or restaurants. But, for some reason it just intrigues me. So I tend to tackle reading anything I see that piques my interest with this genre’. And, this love story between the dark and broody Tristan and the feisty and compassionate Tessa does not disappoint. Ms. Ames pens a haunting but yet intensely passionate romance that just ...more

I picked up this book by an new-to-me author because I loved the cover: serious, dark, clean. Reading the blurb, I was hoping the book would be the same. And it was: The writing was great, just as serious and clean as I love it. I also loved the dark parts, though I would have loved to hear more about both of them were dealing with their pasts rather than falling over each other again and again. Don't get me wrong, the steamy scenes were really hot and well done. I would just have preferred more ...more

*This ARC was received in exchange for an honest review*

This is the story of Tristan Hurst, who decides enough is enough and he will stop running from that one horrible night in his past when he was sixteen. So when his cousin Mark invites him to his Caribbean island resort that he has just bought, he can't pass it up, this is his chance to get away from everything.

Tess Armstrong has moved to the Caribbean island and taken on the job of a head pastry chef, to start a fresh new life away from her

The blurb for After the Storm by author Katy Ames really drew me in and I was looking forward to reading this book. However, it just wasn't for me. I didn't hate it, but it wasn't my favorite. This is the 3rd book in the Seven Winds series and can be read as a standalone (which I can attest to as I haven't read the first 2 in this series).

First off, I don't care for 3rd person narrative. I don't like when the character refers to themselves by their names it drives me crazy (that is just a perso

This book is the third book in the Seven Winds Series. I haven’t read the first two books and could dive easily into Tristan’s story. However, I would recommend reading the first two books, because you understand the overall plot better that way. After the storm can be read as a standalone, though. It’s just nicer to get the overall plot from the beginning.
That being said, Tristan is a very tortured character. We get glimpses from his past, from the

5 Stormy Suspenseful Stars!

When Tristan was 16 something horrendous happened and he lost everything and 20 years later, his soul is still tortured. He believes that he is incapable of love and that no one will ever love him ... that is until Tessa. Tessa has her own secrets and that is why she ran to the island and took a job at the resort her friends own. When Tessa meets Tristan she can feel the powerful pull between them and does everything in her power to bring him out of his shell. I don't

If you enjoy feeling a million different emotions while reading a book, After the Storm is definitely for you. I always love a book that allows me to feel like I'm living in the story, and this book accomplishes that as well. Packed full of detail and emotion, After the Storm is beautifully written.

From the first page, After the Storm drew me in with how mysterious one of the main characters was. Their backstory is sad yet admirable, and the character they become by the end of the story surprise

Steam, intrigue, and safe harbor for two souls escaping dark pasts is what you will find at the Seven Winds Resort in After the Storm by author Katy Ames. The third in a trilogy, I found no trouble diving in to the secretly interwoven lives of Tessa and Tristan. Tessa shows true grit as small but mighty heroine and master pastry chef at Seven Winds Resort on St Kitts. Fate draws broken, black sheep heir of the Hurst dynasty, Tristan Hurst, to the island seeking to bury his demons in the solitude ...more

After the Storm by Katy Ames is the third book in the Seven Winds Series. I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are After the Island and After the Fall.
After the Storm picks up where After the Fall left off.
Mark and Grace are leaving Seven Wind Resort. Tessa Armstrong is the new executive pastry chef at the resort. When she stumbles over a hunk of a stranger shes not amused.

I must admit, I was a bit apprehensive about reading this book "After the Storm by Katy Ames". The cover intrigued me and reading the description, I was even more intrigued. Though a part of me was thinking 'this is going to be like any other supernatural love story.' I couldn't have been more wrong... this book was a fantastic read! The suspense is what really kept me going. I didn't expect to love the book as much as I did. I am so happy to have run across it.

This book was great. You don't need to have read the prior two books to understand everything that's going on, so it's a standalone as well as part of a series. Although the book still follows all of the expected romance plot points, it adds so much more. There is more character development than you typically see in romance novels. Also, there are TWO mysteries that help push the plot forward. Tristan and Tessa face more than one problem to ensure that they persevere and end up together, and tha ...more

This was a great contemporary romance. This author was unknown to me, but the writing was beautiful. Tristan was such an emotionally damaged character, my heart was breaking for him and all he had to go through. At the same time, his relationship and love for Tessa really redeemed and saved him from himself. Tessa was a great characters, an emotionally resilient woman who went into a baking career so she could provide happiness to other- happiness she was deprived of as a child.

After the Storm has everything you could want in an epic romance! Tristan and Tessa's relationship builds with such a fantastic slow burn and you want them to get together so, so badly. And when they do it's just fantastic (OMG the bread scene!!). The journey they go on together to face the trouble and secrets from their pasts is intense, healing, and ultimately beautiful. So much emotion packed into this story (and a ton of super steamy scenes). Loved it from start to finish. You do NOT need to ...more

This is the first book by this author I've read which obviously means I haven't read the other books in this series. While this book can be read as a standalone I think it would have been better had I read the other two.

That said, I enjoyed this book. Tristan has the most heartbreaking story I think I've ever read; I'm glad that Mark was there for him and was able to provide some constant in his life during his hellish childhood. I felt for Tessa who was dealing with her own issues with having h

There's something about this book that grabs you from the very beginning and doesn't let go. The relationship between Tessa and Tristan builds slowly and beautifully (and, wow, the sexual tension keeps ratcheting higher and higher). And just when their relationship goes exactly where you want it to, they have to weather a series of new challenges together. The sex is hot, Tessa and Tristan's romance goes from sweet one second to so damn steamy the next, and the strength that they find in themsel ...more

I read this as a standalone but I think it would have been a bit better if I'd had more background about the other characters. I did enjoy this though regardless. I liked the two main characters and the way their relationship built. Both characters have their own secrets and pasts and there's a bit of mystery as well which is always good. Once they both gave in to the strong connection between them there was no holding back. The sex scenes were well written and steamy. I lie how the whole story ...more

I liked the first two books of the series and was looking forward to this one. And while I liked the characters and the overall plot I kind of stopped caring towards the end. The last 50 or so pages took me almost a week to get through. The story just turned meh. The big resolution of all the issues was somewhat anticlimactic and the characters ended up repeating themselves. Yeah, you're in love. I got it the first 10 times. It just turned sooooo cheesy, which I did not expect and didn't much ca ...more

Katy Ames has spent most of her life on the East Coast and hopes to spend more of it in the UK. In part, so she can indulge in her serious plaid obsession. There isn’t a teenage drama on the CW or a period British TV show she hasn’t binge-watched at least twice. And she can be persuaded to do most things with the promise of bourbon, coffee, chocolate, or a nap, not necessarily in that order. Katy ...more
