Free download from Amazon Kindle. The cover and plot seemed promising but I lost interest pretty soon. I couldn't like any of the characters and I stopped reading. ...more

I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't. I really liked who the characters were in the beginning, but as the story progressed they both changed without any character growth to show that it was happening.

Rosalind was a childhood sweetheart to Donnan, and she seemed to know everything about him: all of his quirks, his mannerisms, when he was lying, and I absolutely adored that. It was super cute! And Donnan was a man's man who spoke his mind and was sweet on Rose too, but wanted no

I enjoyed reading Rose and Donnan’s story. I like the steamy scenes although I would have liked the scenes with more details and a bit longer. Let the readers imagination the love and romance that the lovers have for one another as the play out from the words of the writer. I liked that the writer focused more of the story on the main couple. Bringing a little mystery and suspense to the story was good. Probably sharing a few story lines from the villains side would be a different idea to bring ...more

This book was a waste of time. A highland book with only a few Gaelic words and a party that lasted for a!most a whole chapter. A highlander who kept calling his wife, as if he did not know her name. A scene in the cottage that made no sense. A ship sitting in a bay being destroyed, when the famous privateer is on board. The story jumped too many times but held no connection.

Donnan is able to travel and do all the things his siblings can't due to their responsibilities. He has always been in love with fiery and sassy Rosalind. Things get really interesting when Rosalind stows away in Donnan's coach. She knows he's hiding something from her, she ends up on an adventure she never expected. ...more

This book did not know what it wanted to be. It started out reminiscent of Georgette Heyer's The Devil's Cub. Then it became a pirate story, and finally they got to Scotland. Rosalind was basically a stalker and Donnan ended up as a file clerk. The steaminess was ever present, and not for me. ...more

Book 1

A bit predictable, and an abrupt ending. Otherwise a five star read. Enjoyed the main characters though some more development would have been nice. A good plot.

4.5 One determined lady and a very secretive man make a great deal of difficulty where there need not be any. It makes an interesting read.

Loved this story of a love between Donnan and Rose that began in their childhood and became full blown as adults.
