Already a huge fan of Jennifer Murgia's debut novel, Angel Star, I was really looking forward to getting back in to her angel world in the much anticipated sequel, Lemniscate!
Just like the first book, Jennifer doesn't disappoint. This sequel had everything I was hoping for in an escape! I think it's safe to say I wasn't actually sure where Jennifer would take these amazing characters next, but once again she has successfully created such an outstanding scary-believable angel concept with the mo

Lemniscate is a great sequel and unlike Angel Star were I was definitely more team Garreth, this time around I ended up being a lot more drawn to Hadrian. It wasn't hard to see why Teagen felt so torn between the two, not only does she have the ability to see the good in everyone, but she finally understands what her important rule is between good vs evil, light vs darkness, Garreth vs Hadrian. She learns more about herself and her purpose in everything.

The characters were more in-depth, the myt

The second installment to Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia was as wonderfully written as the original Angel Star. Murgia has the uncanny ability to not only suck you in from the first page, but to paint a beautifully detailed image of a world where guardian angels are not only possible but highly believeable. Through Garreth and Hadrian we receive an education of life on the other side; the light and the dark and why the two are constantly at war, struggling for domination, both knowing that one ca ...more

I'm not even sure if I want to read this or not- the last one wasn't anything spectacular. I'm going to give this series one last chance and hope this gets better. The only way that I think this could happen however is if there's a plane crash or a deadly disease outbreak and all the characters die so that the authour can start again and write a better plot.

First thoughts:

Photobucket

Alright, first things first. You must realize that I have absolutely fallen in love with Garreth and when I saw a different side of him in here I was like what?! But he is exactly how he should be and I have come to terms with that. I loved the darker side to the characters, I was absolutely sucked into a deep vortex where at times I literally wanted to kick some butt for Teagan but I soon realized that it was only a book and no one was around to express my rage for certain peopl

Angel Star captivated me with elegance and the substance in which Tegan and her beautiful guardian angel Garret’s story is narrated; Lemniscate enchanted me in the world painted by Murgia’s words. Lemniscate continues Tegan’s story with knowledge on the truth of the spiritual world around her and its consequences. What really makes the story shine is its base, angelology is an active part where it has some strong base in terms of world building and continuity, but its major attractive is that in ...more

The story of Teagan, Garreth, Brynn, Ryan and a few new characters continues. What a story it is! Once again Mrs Murgaia weaves an amazing and thought provoking tale, of relationships and how each touches an others life. The balance of light and darkness, what control one has over how much light and darkness one allows to exists within ones self are at the heart of this story for these characters. There where several times I thought I saw what was coming only to have it turn out totally differen ...more

WARNING: I have had to include some spoilers in this review, in order to properly evaluate this novel.

The sequel to Angel Star starts off with an earthbound Garreth, who continues to stay with Teagan in her bedroom at night, again, just as Edward Cullen does in The Twilight Saga. I was prepared to "grin and bear it", and just forge ahead, hoping that this book would turn out to be better than its predecessor. My hopes were dashed, however, when, quite suddenly, Garreth began avoiding Teagan. So

Lemniscate is the sequel to Angel Star (review here) which I loved, so I was very excited to dive back into this world again. We pick up pretty much right where Angel Star left off with Teagan and Garreth trying to adjust to everyday life together. Now that Garreth is on Earth full time Teagan is soaking up every moment with him. That time does get interrupted quite frequently with her mom’s new love interest and his step daughter, Brynn, who’s goal in life seems to be ruining Teagan’s. Teagan i ...more

This was definitely a worthy sequel to Angel Star! There were some parts of it that had me very frustrated, and a couple things that made me go "Um, but..." BUT...all in all, it was a very good story that entertained me and kept me very interested.

Teagan, once again, proved to be an intriguing and strong character. She has to deal with quite a few unexpected things in this story, not least of which is how her angel, now boyfriend, Garreth, is becoming more human. And it's not always a good thing

Lemniscate is a very good sequel to Angel Star. It had the same beauty, and allure of darkness and light interwoven together. But I liked Angel Star better. I guess I liked the characters better in the first book. In Lemniscate, Garreth becomes pretty much polar opposite of his usual light goodness and stalwart, glorious protector of Teagan. And Hadrian was more good than bad. They kind of seemed to change places. Which I didn’t necessarily like. I really missed Garreth, he wasn’t in Lemniscate ...more

My thoughts... Lemniscate, the second book in the Angel Star series, took an interesting turn. In the first book, I felt very devoted to Garreth. His strength and goodness was like a beacon to Teagan. This book definitely left me second guessing my judgement of his character. He is faced with tough decisions and makes some poor choices that effect the lives of all the characters. Many of the same people play an important role, including the evil Brynn. Teagan discovers more about her fate, as it ...more

It had been a little bit since I had the pleasure of reading Angel Star. While I have been eagerly anticipating this next book; I found myself struggling to remember everything from the first heart stopping book. Luckily, Murgia created Lemniscate as an easy crossover that offers reflections on the first book that will allow readers an extra hand in remembering things from the first book. Teagan is still an incredible strong young woman that has found herself in the grips of a war that has been ...more

I absolutely loved Angel Star, and was completely blown away by it when I read it. I think it was actually the first novel that left me stunned for a few days afterwards as it emotionally got to me. I cant say I was stunned this time around, however, I have a love hate relathionship with the book now.. In the first novel I was die hard Garreth, an amazing guardian who just made me fall head over heels for him immediately with his gentle way. In this book, I was a bit shocked to not only miss him ...more

Lemniscate is a wonderful second book in the Angel Star series. The characters have depth, are well developed, and the suspense keeps me turning the pages.
Teagan learns more about herself, and her purpose, some of which from very unexpected sources. She realizes more about the people she loves and gives voice to some surpressed feelings. That is about all I can say without spoiling anything.
Garreth is hard to read about in this book. It all ends up having purpose of course, but he made me w

"We have the power to entertain any thought we wish. To fully embrace them is another matter. Sometimes we get lost along the way, and sometimes we get lucky and find the answers. "

I’m at a loss on how I will review Lemniscate because it brought out mixed emotions within me. As much as I am for Garreth, and trying this to be spoiler-free, I now had high admiration for Hadrian. Though the element of romance was still there, for me especially with the quote stated above, Lemniscate is more of a

Amazing! Jennifer's attention to detail truly brings the storyline together from the beginning to end. I felt like I was living the story along with the characters, and didn't want it to end. So good. Even though I thought I knew where the book was going, I was way off, and I couldn't have guessed the ending and was so happy with it. Well crafted, well written, and amazing!

Loved it loved it loved it! Ive had a rough week as I just lost a really close friend of mine to cancer on Monday. But this book helped me move through it. Teagan was that beacon of light for me that she is for those in her world. I loved this book better than the last and can't wait for more!

While Angel Star captivated me when I've read it, Lemniscate just left me mesmerized, with mixed emotions even.

Lemniscate took a very interesting turn, something far more better than Angel Star. Plot wise, I think Lemniscate was a step much better than Angel Star.

I love how everything seems to be unraveling neatly in this book. I've always been a bit thrown off with books wanting to hold out everything and stretching out the plot far more than wh

I went into reading Lemniscate with a little trepidation. After loving Angel Star, both the Teagan/Garreth dynamic and how relatable Teagan was , I was worried that the sequel wouldn't hold up. There were parts of Lemniscate I loved even more than Angel Star- the developing friendship between Teagan and Ryan, Hadrian and how he became an integral part of Teagan's fight against the darkness, and the fact that Teagan's understanding of who she really was and her role she was meant to fulfill incre ...more
