Dead Lawyer’s Body an Instrument of Terror

Michael St. John never lost a criminal case. He wasn’t a nice guy. He cheated his clients, destroyed criminal evidence, paid off judges, and ran around on his wife. He was an albatross around the neck of the Richmond Police Department. The District Attorney’s office loathed him until they found his mutilated corpse – one lovely f

The Case of the Very Dead Lawyer is the fourth book in Judith Lucci’s Michaela McPherson Mystery series. This page-turner is an intricately woven tale with lots of action and suspense. The talented Ms. Lucci uses her written words to give readers a story filled with suspense and tension. This fast-paced page-turner kept me engaged from beginning to end. The story switches back and forth, providing the reader with the points of view of the good guys, as well as the bad ones. I recommend this book ...more

“The Case of the Very Dead Lawyer”, the fourth crime thriller in author Judith Lucci’s Michaela McPherson Mysteries, brings back ex-Richmond cop Mic, her faithful retired police dog, Angel, and the amazing Countess Dottie, her investigative partner, in a taut, fast-paced and scary novel that will keep readers up late as it races towards its climax. An old and very deadly enemy resurfaces as Dottie and Mic are hired to investigate the death of the book’s title by one of Dottie’s friends. Matters ...more

A good mystery

I have read other stories by this author and liked those books and this one as well.

Michela and her K-9 partner, Angel, are retired police officers. Michela , Angel and their other crime solving partner, Countess Dorothy are asked to solve the murder of Dotties friend, Evelyn's, nephew, Michael. He's a shyster lawyer who manages to get criminals he defends off on a technicality. No one one the police force is sad that he is dead, but the way that he died has the police worried for

Talk about drawn into a book. I couldn't put this down! After a rich criminal lawyer dies from choking and prion disease, Mic and Dottie are on the case along with Mic's boyfriend Slade. Soon enough, every important agency in the government is also called in. Prion disease presents as something between Alzheimer's and zombies. Everyone knows zombies aren't real but they must get to the bottom of this case before even more people die to terrorism. I loved every bit of this suspenseful thriller! O ...more

Chemical Warfare

A sleazy lawyer who got many criminals released was involved in a car crash in his maserati. A "paramedic" injected him with an unknown protein virus to incubate it in his body for over four years. His murder was to take plugs of live tissue to spread the virus to induce mass destruction and panic. Mic (with Dottie), was inspired to pretend to be meat inspectors. The story ended too abruptly not tying up loose ends.

Interesting but easy

The Countess, attitude was irritating to me. She was so self centered that it was a drain on the story line. Other than that I enjoyed meeting and reading about all of the characters. I was left a bit adrift for the elder St. John. aunt. Seems as if her interest got lost, with very little offerrd information about her and how she dealt with the situation. The plot was well developed . and I look forward to more of the story.

This was a very good book. It was full of suspense. It was even a little frightening at times. Could something like this really happen? It had great character development and keep me reading several nights until early morning. I would recommend this book to any mystery lover.

Complex Case With Insightful Solution

Someone always seems to have a good guess that leads to the solution, and here it happens again. A good read, but a quicker solution than most.

Great thriller theory

Falls short with too much retoric and repetitive wording. I felt I was turning pages and reading the same old stuff . I thought Mic was supposed to be a tough cop but there is so much anxiety , angst and dizziness going on with her I am not so sure . As usual lots of words and a few pages of actual action .
