3,5/5. Story of hard life and resilience. Not a big fan of the artwork style and choice, but an inspiring story and a good message. Worth it!

Disclaimer: I work for the publisher.

Such a powerful read. It's easy to not know that the kind of situation Elfina finds herself in is all too common for too many kids. This book helps bring the issue to light in an accessible way to kids and teens, and raises awareness about a epic problem.

incredible, emotional illustrations and a poignant, fearless story - an excellent look at how slavery takes many forms and faces, and how easily it is carried out and continued.
