This collection of comic strips from George McManus shows the beginnings and development of his famous strip, Bringing Up Father. It also includes other strips he toyed with before finally devoting himself solely to Bringing Up Father. The strip follows the social aspirations of a newly wealthy Irish family. Maggie craves social acceptance while her husband, Jiggs, longs for the life and friends left behind. Very entertaining but also a nice historical and social commentary.
