By far my favorite line of study guides. This study guide was perfect. Questions, sections & overall content was very well planned and executed. It looked at Proverbs 31 and slowly worked through it so I got a very good in depth study of what it means to live as a Proverbs 31 woman. This particular study guide was easy to put down and pick up while still retaining the info (which is needed with small kids)!

I read this about 12 years ago with a group of other ladies. They all seemed to enjoy it, but I wasn't so sure, though I didn't express my feelings at the time. After thinking about the book in the following months I realised that the material in it was more of a reflection of the Protestant work ethic and American culture than the Biblical message on women. I did get something out of the book, hence the two stars, but I have avoided anything else by this author ever since.

Why I picked this up: A group of ladies from church and I chose this for our Bible Study.

It was convicting on a few points and I saw areas where I need to change some habits. We all got a lot out of this study and I would recommend it to those looking for a good study on Proverbs 31.

The woman of Proverbs 31 is a challenge for many women today. Many ask themselves how could they reach the level of excellence described in these passages. It is not an easy way to become a woman after God's own heart. But God didn't place something impossible for reaching in His Word to create a sense of inferiority to us, but rather to motivate us.
If you want to find out more about the Proverbs31 woman, this book will guide you how to study this gem of Scripture. The lessons are very simple and practical. There are questions for introspecting and study tips.
Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman is a Bible study which whorths all money, not for staying on a shelf, but rather to remind your purpose, to refresh your motivation, to increase your curiosity.

This was not my favorite study by Elizabeth George - it felt frilly and fluffy. Though I did enjoy studying through Proverbs 31 and the study of God’s Word challenged me to ponder what it means to be a woman of character, George worked really hard to squeeze much out of that passage (some of which was just not there).

A lot of her points were good and the corresponding verses listed were helpful. However, her anecdotes often felt random and awkward, and some of the points she drew were a stretch.

I’ve read more grounded studies by Elizabeth George, but I just didn’t love this one.

A study on the infamous Proverbs 31 woman, this Bible study guides readers through the characteristics of just what made this woman worthy of such high praise and regard. Throughout each chapter are review questions as well as personal application sections. This one, as well as the studies from Esther, 1 Peter, and James, have been my favorite in this Bible study series.

I’m really enjoying these Bible studies from Elizabeth George. This one is probably the best study on Proverbs 31 I’ve done...very encouraging and strategic in improving areas of our life without making us feel like failures for not already being the Proverbs 31 woman.

Enjoyed the study and felt inspired toward action in my life as a godly woman. You don't have to be married or a mom to enjoy the study, but it is tailored that way. It was a little repetitive and sometimes hard to push through but I did enjoy the little stories before the study. A good complement.

I am more than thrilled to be done with this book. I debated about giving it two stars, but there is some good content, which is why I assigned three. I have read quite a few Elizabeth George books and they were ALL excellent. When I got together a group of women for a Bible study, I decided to use this without reading it first. Big mistake I will not make again. I feel like we have been on this book forever. Although there are many good points, they are made so often that they become redundant instead of valuable. While I highly recommend her books, this study is not one I would recommend.

This book was a much needed reminder of all I am striving for. Sometimes circumstances and the way people treat us can and will get us down or make us cruel. This book reminded me that I must look at them with the eyes of God, showing them mercy and kindness even when I don't think they deserve it because that is what God did. I hope one day to be a living example to those around me of the Proverbs 31 woman but I sure have a long way to go, and am grateful that God is with me every step of the way.

The study was good. It did seem repetitive and less interesting toward the end. Also even though I am a woman who stays at home even I found some of this book to be a little too traditional at times. But overall you take what you want from the book and I enjoyed it.

This book should have been much shorter. We were miserable in the study group until it was finally over.

very well written... the only thing I didn't like was how short of time it took to do each lesson...
