We're getting closer to the Heart...

Every time I start a new instalment of the Alice Worth series, I consciously set an end to my reading time. It is very easy to get sucked into Alice’s world with all her dramas and I’m always desperate to know what will happen next. I sneak peek at what’s ahead in the next chapter even when I know I have to stop for sleep/work/life. But, how can I stop when the baddies drop a magic bomb, Jack just went douchewaffle, Charles is manipulating, Malcolm just went skew-whiff, and Sea

Well, she's done it.
Three five star ratings in a row, this entire series so far. I don't think any other author has ever accomplished that with me.

I just love this series to bits. It's all I look for in the Urban Fantasy genre:
1) A strong, bad-ass female lead who is perfect role model material. She's compassionate, resourceful, a total smart-ass who doesn't take crap from anyone.
2) An amazing love interest who worships the ground she walks on, who isn't only protective of her but of all the people in his c
I had to think before writing this review... it was such a ride. How to write a review without giving away plotpoints or spoilers.

This is the 3rd book in the Alice Worth-series and it is not a standalone. It is an ongoing series about Alice, a mage working as a PI. She has a werewolf boyfriend, Sean, and a ghost for a house-guest (Malcolm) as he is connected to her. Alice has fled her horrific past and made a new life for the last 5 years, but her past is getting near and it is unset

After a slow start this one really got going. I liked the magic system and the characters . I can’t wait for the next book. My only hope is that the author doesn’t drag out the secrets for any more books after this’s kind of walking a fine line now between building tension and being just plain aggravating.
I’d recommend this one to fans of Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs.
I had so many people around me wondering if you were strong enough to be my partner that I didn’t think to ask if I was strong enough to be yours. It’s me who needs to be stronger, not you. I’ve always told myself that I wanted a partner and a mate who would stand beside me and who would fight with and for my pack, but I don’t think I ever really understood what that meant until now. [...] You are exactly what I’d wished and waited for, and I almost blew it because I didn’t know how to deal with ...more

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series so far and this third book did not disappoint. Some seeds planted in the prior novels are taking root (figuratively and quite literally in one case ;) ). I love how in each book we learn more not only about Alice and her dark past, but also about each main character and the different supernatural factions (not in an infodump style, but in small glimpses that occur within the natural flow of the story). In this book, we finally get to meet Sean’s pack. We also ...more

This is a series that keeps getting better and better. Alice and Sean are back dealing with stolen magical items and an ex marine out to kill her. I love how much Alice is changing in each book. We get more glimpses of Alice’s past and how powerful she can be. Her relationship with Sean is changing as well as the one with Charles. This series has it all. Bada$$ heroine, sexy alpha, and lots of action. Kept me turning the pages well into the night. If you like Kim Harrison and Patricia Briggs, yo ...more

All I can say is wow! With a lot of series, as you get into further books the story begins to lose steam. With the Alice Worth series it’s the opposite. I didn’t think Lisa Edmonds could wow me anymore than she already did in Heart of Malice (book 1) and Heart of Fire (book 2), but Heart of Ice was so intense and thrilling that I was breathless (quite a feat given the sedentary nature of reading) and could not put it down.

Like the first two Alice Worth books, it’s a read-through-the-night-ignor

This book pissed me off. Well not the book but specific characters.

A LOT happens in this book. Alice has bodyguards due to a crazy person who is after her. So she hires Sean’s company. That’s cool. But then there’s some dissension in the pack with regards to Alice’s place as Sean’s potential mate. What happens during this frustrated me to no end.

I liked this installment - some character growth which is always good
My only complaint is the H - I really want to be team Sean but there's something missing for me
Looking forward to the next book

Alice's undercover job for the vampire council goes horribly wrong, and Sean and Maclin Security is protecting her like white on rice. Charles is not happy, and continues to try to worm his way in to her heart and away from her lover, the werewolf alpha, Sean. When a side job for the burglary of some magical items turns truly devastating, Alice will make a risky alliance to fix the problem. With the Murphy war with the Bell cabal brought to her front door, her chances of being found by her grand ...more

Alice Worth is back and more amazing than ever. Between working for the vampire counsel and hunting down stolen relics a girl is never out of danger. Safety is an illusion. But, with a bound ghost, hunky werewolf boyfriend, and vampires with agendas, Alice just might figure it all out.

Amazing characters with real personalities help blend fantasy with reality and make the book not only enjoyable but believable. Alice is a really strong, badass lead character. Magic and fantasy weave their way th

This is the book that I needed after the second book. Alice is becoming bigger, better, badder and stronger (both mentally and emotionally). We finally get a more intimate glimpse behind the veil and thank the universe that she shares these with the most important people in her life. You can tell I'm attached to these books because of what I'm about to say.

Heart of Ice is the third installment in the Alice Worth series by Lisa Edmonds.

Introducing this next foray into the second life of Alice Worth with a heavy dose of Comedy was a stroke of genius. If I could manage to tell you more without completely ruining my favorite addition to the life of our mysterious P.I. I would.

In addition, I’m reluctantly pleased by the heavier werewolf involvement in this book in comparison to its predecessors. Which tended to fo

Recommends it for: fans of the genre
Shelves: arc
The plot starts when Alice meets people who are accountable for blowing up the bar.

In the third book of the Alice Worth series readers can learn more about pack members. I like the way Alice deals with them. IMHO, the relationship between Alice & Sean is gradually developing in the right direction.
Alice has a new case. She has to recover the stolen magical items.
Moreover a war between cabals is dangerously close to "home"…

To be honest I was captivated by this story…

I received this novel from Ms. Edmonds as an ARC. Thank you!
OMG this book was amazing! I could not put it down from start to finish! There were several plot twists that I did not expect or see coming! Ms. Edmonds has outdone herself in this third novel of the Alice Worth series. Alice faces many challenges in this novel, while keeping her true identity from everyone. Alice has difficulty letting anyone close to her. She has a "ledger", hoping to remove some of those marks with the good dee

This book was one of my favorite in the series so far (and even though I just read this one I can't wait for the next one already...). Lisa Edmonds truly outdid herself. Heart of Ice has a more personal feel (somewhat ironic to the title) in that there is a ton of character development, way more than I expected, but through it all, Alice Worth is an inspirational character with flaws. She encounters many issues- personal and professional- that get in her way. I felt that the book was a great add ...more

The Alice Worth series has quickly become one of my must read series.

The characters really shine in this series. Alice gets more and more likable with each book. She is still a little closed off, but she has really grown from the loner of book one. I really enjoy learning about her past and watching her slide into a future with friends and allies at her side. Malcolm has really grown into an essential character. I have a feeling there is a lot more to his involvement with Alice, but he has grow

This is the third book in the series that continues following Private Detective Alice Worth through impending family drama and her journey to make real connections and relationships while putting down real roots in her life away from the Murphy cartel.

Private Detectives and urban fantasy go hand in hand. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 4 young adult book series that follow this trope. That being said, however, Alice Worth is a unique take on the fantasy private detect

I received this as an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love this series. The world is just close enough to our own to be believable and fun, and the characters are engaging and complex. I'm not going to try to summarize the book to avoid spoilers, but I will say that one of the things I like about this series is that each book *could* be read as an individual book, without having to read the ones which come before. The author is very good at finishing a story ar

I have loved this series so far, so I had high expectations for this new book. It totally exceeded my expectations. I read in a 24hour period because I just couldn’t put it down. Lisa draws such compelling characters. I love the dialogue between the characters at least as much as the magic and the action. Lots of unexpected surprises. I can’t say enough good things about this book!!
Just as good as the other books in this series.
If you like to read UF, don't hesitate. Just DO it.

If you are not already reading this series, FIX THAT. It's right up there with the very best in urban fantasy and paranormal romance, right up there with October Daye and Kate Daniels. I...might even like it a little bit better than Kate Daniels. Really compelling characters, lots of action, and so well-written.
This one was really really good. And now I can't wait for more!!

The Alice Worth books are the first series of books I can remember reading repeatedly in such a short period. I can't get enough of Ms Edmond's world building and excellent characterisation. I do tend to devour books rather than just read them and I've found nuances and bits that I've missed when I re-read them. These books are the difference between fast food and eating a home cooked meal cooked by a connoisseur. I'm loving these books, feel I know and love the characters.

Lisa Edmonds has quickly become my go to author when she releases books and this one did not disappoint in the slightest! We get brought back into a much loved world full of action, humor, snark and an extremely well developed plot that brings you back for more every time.

I have enjoyed a different take on the way magical can work especially as most fantastic books are we it in left field on the subject of magic. Alice Worth struggles to keep her past secret and to open herself up enough to let her hot werewolf and ghost into her home and life. This is a remarkable series by a great author. Be sure to read books 1 and 2 first because each book brings us more into Alice's life past and present.

Page turner!

This is the third book in the Alice Worth series, so don't read this without reading the others. If you haven't read the first 2 then you need to do that, and quickly, so you can read this one.
This is my absolute favorite so far, this whole series is really freaking awesome.
You are missing out on getting to know some great characters, if you haven't read them.
The MC is great, but not only that, I also love the side characters.
This series is everything I love about urban fantasy -a badass MC
