DNF

Yucky, yucky, yucky.

Immediately when I started reading it I knew that I wasn't going to last long, but I pressed forward anyways because I hate DNF-ing books just out of plain bordem. The book however contained things I didn't like and I knew I didn't want this trashy story running through my mind. I made it to chapter two, skimming already by this time.

Content ~ Use of bad language ( which I loathe ) Already talk of sexual stuff AND FOR PETE'S SAKES PEOPLE ITS O

This is not a series I would suggest picking up in the middle or even choosing random books to start. Each book takes you a little bit closer to a huge battle I expect is to come. There are multiple enemies of the Dragon Kings and some who we thought were enemies, may not be. This series has been like putting a puzzle together. Each step reveals a piece to the overall bigger picture and yet still leaves you guessing.

Ignite is Claire and Vlad's story. V has been an unstable Dragon King for many y

This is the first one I want to give a three star rating to and not for the story itself. V(lad) and Claire (Sophie's BFF) and absolutely perfect for each other. I loved their romance as it grows and blossoms. Ulrik is now firmly in the like column. Plus both of her secrets....jaw drop on the second. All the other Kings and their mates are around to help and even push, so great. Then add in what UB!tch does - unbelievable.

So, why do I want to give it three stars....a @#$%

With help from friends V finally has his magical sword back but sadly for some reason he just can't access it's abilities. So very tired of letting his fellow Dragon Kings down V thinks the best thing he can do is return to his mountain to sleep. Well luckily for V he has friends who just love to meddle and it hasn't gone unnoticed that Claire the local nurse has caught his attention so what can possibly go wrong if they get pushed together ?
This series seems to finally be giving up its secrets

As a long-time follower of this series, I feel like there is something comforting about reading this series. I enjoy the world and mythology, as well as the Scottish brogue that many of the heroes have. However, as of late, I have been beginning to wonder if it’s starting to lose its luster.

IGNITE is book fifteen in the Dark Kings series, so there have been a lot of stories and HEAs already. This book is dedicated to V and Claire and although I liked them, they haven’t truly shone to me. I’

I learned about this book via email. Someone from St. Martin's would send me an email once in a while giving me a Netgalley link of a book I can just download without requesting. I actually don't know why I'm suddenly in their list to notify about their books in Netgalley BUT I AM NOT COMPLAINING. That said, this is the second book by this author that I've got from them. I really liked the first one so when I got an email, I didn't think twice to download it, because I thought, even though this ...more

I really want to read this whole series. This is the 15th book of a series and I really enjoyed it and was able to understand what was going on but I know it would help if I read the other books.
V had been in a deep sleep and just woke up. He is a dragon king and must find a way to win back his sword. He meets Claire and the sparks between them starts. He had vowed never to have a mate but he can't seem to get enough of Claire and she is human. He feels that she is The One though. There is a fo

I loved Claire and Vlad! They were...well, adorably cute is the best description I can think of! Claire has had the worst dating luck while Vlad has been in literal hibernation. I loved how open they were with one another because they took a huge plunge baring themselves and their vulnerabilities. In doing so, they also cemented a tangible emotional bond developing between them.

Battle-wise, things are heating up and leading to war between the Dragon Kings, Rhi, Balladyn and the Dark Dae against

This book is hard for me to rate. The book is written very, very well, the story easily drew me in and the world building in this book is amazing. The hero and heroine were a great couple who I rooted for and loved learning more about, and the funny little twist(that isn't hard to guess but still fun) was a cute little bonus. Now after all that why am I having such a difficult time rating this book. Well like many other times before I read this book because it sounded very interesting and someth ...more

When I read Ulrik's book in this series, it felt like an ending. Ulrik had been the bad guy for so long in this series that I was unsure how I felt about it. The author did a great job redirecting things and I totally loved Ulrik. As much as Torched was an ending, Dragonfire (the book before this one) was a beginning. The world is expanded and the past is seen through new eyes. It was a great way to kick off the next set of books. But Ignite wasn't what I expected after that. I did enjoy it a lo ...more

Let's start off by saying we really loved this story and we are really enjoying this ongoing series with these amazing characters that we could not help but, fall in love with and that we just love Donna Grant and her amazing books !

We love Claire and Vlad aka V's story from beginning to end.We found the story to be hilarious also that it had fun characters who had a sense of humor, was intriguing, and was suspenseful and had a story that had tons of twists and turns and a lot of the unknown.Thi

In Ignite, I enjoyed reading about how Claire and V’s relationship grows in closeness and intensity. V is very worried about the fact that his sword is not working as it should be and also that he has missed out on so much over the years while he was asleep in his mountain. Claire has her own concerns. They find that once they start sharing their thoughts, their romance takes off.

There are many issues that are rising to a boiling point in the lives of Con, the Kings, Rhi, Balladyn, Usaeil and t

I found "Ignite" by Donna Grant to be an interesting read. The story has a nice mix of action, adventure and the love story that propels it forward. Vlad and Clair are strong characters and well rounded inside of a well crafted world.
The only thing about the story that kept me from truly enjoying it is in all likely hood my own fault. I couldn't help but feel that I was missing out on the full picture of the story because I hadn't read any of the other books. Having read quite a few novel series

I felt this book was a solid 3 stars for me. I want to start off by saying this book does not work very well as a stand alone it is number #15 in a series and so has 14 books worth of back story and experiences that the characters have gone through, as well as 14 books worth of buildup of an ongoing secondary plot line.

In all honesty one of the things that kept me from jus

V is the dragon king the others worry about because his grip on reality is not solid. They think it is because his sword has been stolen from him and he can't remember how. With this new story featuring what happened to V, it becomes more alarming. There are enemies the Dragon King does not even know about.

I loved learning about V. He is a dragon who is confused and is not seeing any meaning to life. When he chances upon Claire, it is as if he suddenly awakens. He knows something about her is s

IGNITE is the fifteenth full-length instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary, adult DARK KINGS paranormal, fantasy romance series focusing on the Dragon Kings and the women they love. This is copper dragon V aka Vlad, and registered nurse Claire. IGNITE should not be read as a stand alone as the current story lines continue to follow an ongoing series arc.

I really enjoyed this book; I couldn't stop reading. You can read my full review on my WordPress blog, Flora's Musings...

So, what did I like about it?
I enjoy the way that Ms Grant tells her stories; the pace her plots develop, the characters she introduces us to and the fantasy world she creates. I’ve only read two books in this series (Heat Dark Kings #12 and Dragonfire – Dark Kings #14) but I have quickly become captivated.

I enjoyed the mystery aspect of this story and the way that all of the

Sissy's Romance Book Review
Ignite by Donna Grant is book 15 in the Dark Kings Series. This is the story of Claire and Vlad 'V'. I have been jumping in and out of this series which haven't been to much of an issue but there is a underlining story that I think would have helped me along the way.
V is attracted to Claire from the start but she is human and he of course is not, so that puts doubts in him. They end up helping each other while their feelings start growing into more that neither can walk away from. Of course the

If you are looking for a hot and steamy paranormal romance that has just a dash of humor and mystery, then Ignite will be a perfect read for you. Be warned, though, that this book is the fifteenth in a series that must be read in series order to have a true understanding of the overarching storyline as well as the characters that the main characters of this story interact with or reference. At the very least I would recommend that you read book fourteen as this is where Vlad’s background is expl ...more

Ignite by Donna Grant
Dark Kings #15

Donna Grant has created a world that makes her readers want to return, find out what is happening next and then they eagerly await the next book in the series. The only series I have read all of, so far, is The Reapers and having read each and every one of those books I KNOW it well. Sure, some of the other worlds/series/groups might have been mentioned and have impacted The Reapers but it was a group that was easy to follow beginning to end. That said...I did

Disclaimer: I received an advance reader copy of this book via a giveaway. A review was requested, but not required.

I was extremely disappointed with this book. I had high hopes that Grant would be another paranormal romance author that I enjoyed, especially since Ignite is book 15 in the series and I love long running series. Unfortunately, this was a generic paranormal romance that focused on the romance to the exclusion of other story elements (plot, character development, setting, etc). The

Another Dragon Kings book bites the dust and now it’s just a waiting game for the next one. I do think it was great that we were left wondering about Con and whether or not he let Usaeil kidnap him or if she really snuck up on him. Can’t wait for the next book.

I also liked the love story between Claire and V. There was so much going on that the two didn’t spend the entire book having sex. AND I liked the (Mis) Adventures of a Dating Failure Blog. I thought it was pretty sad and funny at the sam

Another Dragon King meets and falls for his mate, though unwillingly to begin with. Claire had been around them for years now, though on the perifere, so she knows how formidable and outrageously alpha they can be. Especially V. The attraction that sizzles between them, the looks, the perfect date that takes her breathe away, it all makes her nervous. Relationships are not something she does. Or knows how to do. Especially when she has secrets. Obesity she should have divulged years ago. Atleast ...more

If you don't like Insta love, paranormal, sex, or magic this book is not for you. If you haven't read any of the previous 14 books, I would not start here. This book deals with a lot of backstoy stuff and readers will be lost otherwise. Truthfully, when I started reading this series I almost gave up because in the earlier books there were some plot inconsistencies; however, I think a lot of the books have been updated. I am now fully invested and need to find out so many things like:

This novel is #15 in the series, "Dark Kings" by author; Donna Grant. I LOVED this story about the HOT Scottish alpha male that's able to shift into his natural form as a dragon.
