I thoroughly enjoyed looking through this book and I hope many other people discover it as well. Great tips, photos, and plans. However I don’t see myself actually using many of the recipes in the near or semi-near future for a variety of reasons...mainly I find that it’s hard to gather together the people I know. Quite a few recipes don’t exactly work if you’re on a budget or don’t have certain items in your kitchen. Quite a few spicy sounding dishes as well, which doesn’t bode well for my body :(
The recipes seemed fine, and I like that there were pictures of every recipe. But the cookbook seemed really large without containing a lot of recipes. Personally, I could have done without all their talking.
enjoyed the look at cooking in the context of hosting friends. not only the recipes were interesting but also brought up many other great ideas and thoughts for entertaining including preparation, types of events, atmosphere and conversation.
I liked that they outlined ways for people to participate as a group, with different skill levels, as well as planning on how long dishes would take. Not all of the recipes were to my taste, but the way they laid them out was very cool.
I always read a new cookbook and cook one recipe out of it before review and this one gets 5 stars! Let me just say try the Green Bean Poutine, page 170, awesome.
