Jackson by Emily March

First in a new series, a spinoff from the Eternity Springs series. While it can be read as a standalone, there are many characters from the prior books that would make them more dimensional if some of the prior books were read.

Family centric, contemporary small town romance. Clean. Beautifully written with emotional high and low points.
I admire Jackson for his actions in the face of tragedy but mostly for his love of his daughter. He knows when to speak up and actually fol

I'm thinking this is a case of "it's me, not the book". I'm a first time Emily March reader and I've always wanted to give her a shot. Unfortunately, this book and the writing style in general just didn't work for me.

This reads much more like a women's fiction book than a romance and I wish I would've known that going in. Lots of talk about relatives, neighbors, their various past plights, lots of higher power, mysterious ways kind of talk. You get my drift. I kept hoping for an actual r

I got to check out a upcoming release for review and even though it is part of a series I had little difficulty following the story.

I have to say I was expecting a more from this book. Maybe from the cover I was expecting a little cowboy romance. After all Jackson was a hot number.

However, much of the book mainly revolved around Caroline and most of it was conversation. We learned about half of the people in the town; friends and relatives, and hones

Thank you to St. Martins and NetGalley for an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. I was not required to write a positive review.

Jackson is a lovely stand alone romance, and it's the first in an Eternity Springs spin-off trilogy. Being both character driven and atmospheric, this well written thoughtful story is overflowing with heart and characters you will actually care about in a place you will never want to leave. Honestly, it's been a while since I've read a book that made me w

Redemption or Ruin….

This is the start of a spin off series from Eternity Springs, which I haven’t read yet, but Caroline and Jackson’s story works well as a standalone. It was easy to get lost in their story as both were reinventing themselves with a new direction to their lives.

The story moved in days and then months as big and little changes affected their lives. The characters were very likable, the circumstances allowing them to support each other through the storms. Loss, grief, pain. All

This being the first book by Emily March that I have read was sort of interesting, because, while each of the characters were new to me it felt as if I was reunited with old familiar friends. I swear it was the strangest feeling that I actually had to go back and check to be sure that this was in fact the first book of hers I had read. This story takes place in Colorado as well as Texas and in both places we have parts of the McBride Family, Boone, Jackson, and Tucker are the three cousins this ...more

It is hard to start a series. There are so many things which need to be put forward. The backstories of the characters, the whys as to the location and all of the additional colorful secondary characters. Lots to cover as well as the main love story. Jackson (The McBrides of Texas #1; Eternity Springs #16) by Emily March had that task and it did touch all of the necessary bases.

Caroline Carruthers life has not proceeded as she thought it would.

Reading this book, I was transported to Redemption, a small town in Texas. The scenes are so vivid that I could visualise the whole thing and the history attached to it.

Jackson is one of the three McBride cousins. They have just inherited a gem of a property in a magical canyon in Redemption. They get together to explore the prospects of this property and what they come up with is astounding.

Caroline is a widow who decides to write a new chapter in Redemption. A place where she had a short visi

Jackson is a book of second chances and starting over.

Caroline moves to Redemption to make a new start on life. Her husband had serious mental issues and had to be put in full time care where he completely forgets who Caroline is and falls in love with another woman in the facility. Her dream is to open a book store and she thinks Redemption is the place to do it.

This is the start of a spinoff series and the first book in the series and I could not be happier. I have loved everything Emily March has written and I Love d getting to know the residents of Redemption, Texas.
This is Jackson and Caroline’s story and I loved these characters. This is a true second chance , next life chapter story with residents from this town and the previous Angel Falls town all making appearances !
Don’t miss this great read !

Jackson is a cute and sweet small town second chance romance. While technically this book is the first in The McBrides of Texas Series, It is the 16th book in the Eternity Springs Series. So, it is a spin-off that can be read as a stand-alone novel. The author did a good job trying to make it so that you didn’t feel like you were missing anything, but there were a few moments where I felt like I was missing something from the previous series.

Jackson is my first book by this author and it follows

I wanted to love this book. I enjoyed it but it didn't have my heart pumping.
Caroline is currently married at the beginning of the story. I won't go into specifics on that. I thought she was a lovely character and deserved to be happy. Unfortunately, life happens and well...things become complicated... and very sad.

Jackson has his own demons in the way of cruel ex-wife. She takes something from him he cannot bare to lose. And so because of that, Jackson has sworn off women. When he a

This is a new series by Emily March but there are ties to her Eternity Springs series with character crossover.  It is set in Texas, so you know it is going to be good...or at least I do!

I had a hard time putting this book down, so enjoyable and it kept me engaged from the first page to the end.  I loved Caroline and couldn't imagine what she went through when her husband was diagnosed with early onset Alzeheimers.  She had a tough time being his caregiver but also dealing with his sister who fo

"Redemption"--an essential concept meaning recover, regain, reclaim. "Redemption, Texas"--a small town destination for a man and woman each seeking a new beginning. In "Jackson", by appealing storyteller Emily March, Jackson McBride and Caroline Carruthers have a brief first meeting in Redemption when he is there to check out a property that he and his two cousins have inherited, and she is there to fulfill a promise to an acquaintance. Later, they will both return to the little town to overcome ...more

5+ Stars! Great start to a new series- The McBrides of Texas.

Those of you that loved the Eternity Springs series will be thrilled with this spinoff in Redemption, Texas with the famous McBrides. While Boone makes such an impression in the Eternity Springs series, I have a feeling that Emily March is leaving the best for last with him as she gives us Boone's cousin, Jackson. Just as the many find healing in Eternity Springs, redemption is found in Texas.

4.5 stars raised to 5 stars. This both book 16 in the Eternity Springs series and the first book in The McBride's of Texas series. Even if you have never read a book in the Eternity Springs series, you can still read this its more a 1st book in a new series than one of a continuing series. Plus the Eternity Springs series books can all pretty much be stand alone books. The book may have some of the characters appear from the past books, but not in a way that makes you unsure of what is going on. ...more

What a wonderful story, Emily March tells through her awesome pen and characters. Jackson is part of an established series drawing me to read those released books that introduced his cousins and family.. Each character in small town Texas are uniquely named and are key to this next stage in Carolyn's life.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the Eternity Springs series, I was happy to see Emily March starting a spin-off series. This story is set in Redemption, Texas and has many connections to the characters in Eternity Springs that we've all come to love, including Celeste Blessing. Although, Celeste has some stiff competition with her cousin Angelica who I think will feature prominently in Redemption and in future books.
Once again, Emily March has brought two wounded characters together that need to rebu

I had such a hard time relating to the protagonists in this story.
Maybe it's me and my personality, but there's no way in hell I'd be the least bit comfortable or accepting of the circumstances that happened at the end of the book.

WELL Apparently I have just stumbled on a popular series! This is about Jackson McBride and the heartbreak he suffers from loosing his daughter. Even though Jackson is a song writer with a dry spell going on; God sends him an inheritance and a feisty widow named Caroline. Smooth moving and light hearted story. This is my first in either of these two series - but it stood alone just fine for me. "A copy of this book was provided by St. Martin's Press via Netgalley with no requirements for a revie ...more

This new series is set in in Redemption, Texas but has the same small home town feeling as her other series. I really like the characters and the emotion in the story. I have loved every one of the Eternity Springs books. This is a sort of spin off and it's just as good as the others. I was a little confused when it started out with Caroline, one of the main characters in the romance, married and in love with her husband. However, as time passes and events unfold, she is in the place in her life to be available to love again.

Emily March is so good at people, love and life stories. This one started in Texas with the McBride cousins. Luke is freshly divorced and just lost partial custody of his young daughter. Tucker and Boone are still mysteries.
His healing and turn around is beautiful and I loved the story. We are reconnected with Eternity Springs and I can't think of a more perfect ending.

I've been a fan of Emily March's Eternity Springs series since book one. The characteristics that have sent those books straight to my keeper shelf - complex, endearing characters, heart-tugging story lines, redemption, healing, starting over, and happy-ever-afters - are all on display in this first book of March's new spin-off series, along with a fair amount of humor.
