Sometimes what starts out as fake can get all too real.

Things started out innocently enough. Put on the spot by my sister about going on a blind date, I mention I’m already dating someone else. But then she wants to meet him. Better yet, she wants me to bring him to our upcoming family gathering so he can meet everyone. Which would be a fantastic idea if he wasn’t a

Yep, SE Harmon is going into MF romances. And sweet Lord, how I enjoyed the female characterization : simply a woman and not that stupid cliché that made me given up years ago.

Avery is in her thirties, a business co-owner with her best friend Julian, has a nice family but dearly misses her mother, whose death a few years ago left a void for her and her siblings, and finally has been quite hurt when breaking up with Adam who cheated on her. When going to spend a few days in her family

Finally an author who does MF and MM equally well.I loved the heroine and I loved the male protagonist. Very well done!

So glad I decided to give this MF a try from a previously-loved MM author. I enjoyed it a lot. The banter was top notch!

Oh My God I have never laughed so hard in my life. This book is so funny. I love meddling family members because I have them and they make me laugh with their antics and Avery is just the same. Her family wants her to go out on dates until she finds the right one but she is content being lonely.

With her father's upcoming birthday party Avery's sister wants to set her up on a blind date but Avery tells her she has a man even though she doesn't. So she turns to her best friend Julian who hooks
With an ex who has clearly moved on and a family who thinks she hasn't, Avery Jane is in a bind. She doesn't want her ex back but she's trying so hard to prove she's happy staying single that she's not sure if she's pretending to be happy or keeping herself too busy to think of the alternative. So when her loving but incredibly pushy sister threatens her with blind dates, Avery takes the easy way out and makes up a fake boyfriend. Except by doing that and committing to come to their father's ...more

Desperate to avoid awkward set-ups, she rallies her best friend and colleague, Julian, to find her a fake date to her dad's birthday party. Well, here we have a very smart mouth woman (Avery Jane, or AJ, for short) who just got dumped by her fiancé short weeks before the wedding, but she’s not some damsel who needs rescuing. This woman has her own business, is in her mid-thirties, and for all intents and purposes, successful. But also happens to have a lot of grief inside. She also has a very meddlesome sister —I

Love Is exceeded my expectations.
Now, I was not prepared for such an "in your face" female character, but Avery's snarky and sarcastic inner voice and her unique outlook on things were surprising and refreshing. That is not to say that is was not exasperating with her inability to corral it all and make a reasonable decision about her burgeoning relationship with Jackson. But, this is no cookie cutter character. Therefore the reader should not expect a cookie cutter romance.

The blurb on this one immediately grabbed me and knowing I haven't read this author before and love finding new ones to read, decided to give this one a chance.

This one started off okay for me, being told in Avery's POV but as the story progressed her POV wasn't enough for me, I wasn't feeling the chemistry or connection between her and Jackson,. Not sure getting his POV would have changed that but I really struggled trying to stay engaged in their story

I found this one to be a bit insta love,

The pretty pink cover and the intriguing book blurb drew me into "Love Is" by new to me author S.E. Harmon. I am a huge fan of the fake romance trope, and this title executes it well. The characters are well-developed and genuine, and I could not get enough of Avery Jane, a tech guru and successful business owner, her best friend and business partner Julian, and his brother Jackson Sparks. Jackson is a hot, well-known divorce attorney and a womanizer. He agrees to be Avery's fake

I really enjoyed this book, this is a new author for me and I did enjoy her writing so I am pretty sure that I will read more from her. So we meet Avery who was dumped by her fiance who was also her best friend, he is now engaged to his TA so Avery is pretty sure that he cheated on her. She is summoned to come home for her fathers birthday and she hasn't been home for a while, her mother had died and she couldn't understand how her father could just move on. So her sister badgers her and wants ...more

This book has one of my favorite heroines ever. Avery (aka AJ) is snarky and hilarious. She is devoted to those closest to her, but she still enjoys giving them a hard time. Jackson is Avery's best friend/business partner's older brother, so they've known each other for years. When Avery needs a fake boyfriend for a family function, Jackson steps up to fill that role. As the two become closer, both physically and emotionally, Avery has to begin dealing with her complicated feelings about love. ...more

Love Is, by SE Harmon, is a fun and riveting fake boyfriend romance.

It has all the classic fake boyfriend issues, as Avery pretends to have a boyfriend, and then is in a jam when she's told to bring the boyfriend home. Enter her best friend's brother, Jackson, and now she has a fake boyfriend.

Avery and Jackson are so sweet together. I love seeing their romance develop slowly as they get to know each other. And they are so damn hot together.

Avery has a lot of self discovery to do. She has to

S.E. Harmon is one of my people. We've never met. I know nothing about them/her/him/it. Like nothing, except that our sense of humor were created for each other so clearly...S.E. Harmon is my person. All of my snark loving, inappropriate comments prepared me for this read. I am in my happy place.

This was my first experience reading this author's work and I'm already looking forward to reading more. This is so much more than just a "fake boyfriend" or best friend's brother romance -- I loved the journey that Avery goes through in realizing what Love is. Her character is snarky and funny, sexy and confused and everything in between and Jackson complements her perfectly. The family dynamic was hysterical with some real heartbreaking and heartwarming moments thrown in. This is not your run ...more

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is my first book by this author and definitely will not be my last.
Avery is headed home for her dad's birthday but she is dreading it because her ex-fiances parents live next door and she knows he will be there. What better way than to prove to your family and his that you have moved on than to bring a fake boyfriend home with you. Now to find the prefect guy.
Jackson owes his brother a few favors and needs some time away from work. Avery

I received a copy of Love Is by S.E. Harmon from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Even with a predictable plot, this was a very entertaining read and the pages flew by until the end. I liked the main characters, Avery and Jackson, even with their flaws (made them more interesting, to be honest). Their banter and chemistry seemed realistic (not contrived) and really made me root for them.

It was a fun book to curl up by the fire on a cold winter day. I would read a

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for my review. I have never read anything by S.E.Harmon, but I can't wait to get my hands on more books by this author! This book is laugh-out-loud-funny! The characters-especially AJ-Avery Jane, speak my love language of sarcasm. The plot? Not original, but I didn't care a bit, because of how it was told. This story is one of the funniest I have read in a long time, as well as romantic and steamy-all the reasons we read-am I right? ...more

Love Is is a single title novel by S.E. Harmon. It has the author's signature hijinks, mayhem, and humor, and it was a bundle of fun to read!

AJ discovers her ex is moving on, and she is not happy to hear it. On top of that, she needs a fake date and fast! Enter her best friend's brother, Jackson. What starts out as a fake relationship becomes much too real.

I adored AJ! She's snarky and a bit grumpy, and I just loved seeing this in a heroine! Her and Jackson were a good match right from the

I honestly struggled through the first 10% of this book and actually considered giving it up but I didn’t and omg am I glad that I didn’t! Jackson and Avery’s chemistry were OFF THE CHARTS! She was a snarky, sassy heroine that you just fall in love with while Jackson was calm, collected and not phased by her attitude. Fake relationship is always going to be one of my favourite tropes and Harmon delivered it perfectly in love is! This was my first

This love story was incredible. I loved the storyline and the characters. AJ drove me crazy sometimes with her way of thinking, but she always made up for it with her humor.

Jackson was a dream and so thoughtful. The tender way he handles AJ, made my heart melt. I’m so glad he was a passionate man.

The humor in this book was great. One line in particular made me laugh cry (hung the moon and farted out the stars), OMG so funny.

I highly recommended this book.

Love Is was a fun and flirty fake boyfriend romance that kept me smiling and entertained! Avery and her fake boyfriend Jackson are sweet, hot and funny! They were very real and likable characters, actually all the characters were well written and made me want to know them! A great story that I enjoyed and would reread when I want a feel-good romance with a side of laughter! Highly recommend!

The heroine is a forever-type of woman; the hero is handsome, and of course, a player. Typical.
It's a fake relationship romance. I knew that but I expected something a little bit more creative if you know what I mean. The reason behind this fake relationship, cliche. The spontaneous PDA, cliche. The let's have casual sex, cliche. And so on.

The cover and title caught my attention. The blurb made me beyond excited. The actaul book itself, left me rather disappointed. I must say, this is a very well written book, and I think many may love this book. However, this one was not my absolute favorite. I just wasn't a fan of our heroine, Avery.

However, I do think that you should give this book a try.

Love it

Harmon has become one of my favorite authors to date. Her humor just kills me with every single book she writes. The level of angst, imperfections and wit is just awesome. I'm constantly scouring the interwebs for any new material. I'm so greedy I want more all the time!

S.E. Harmon has had a lifelong love affair with writing. It’s been both wonderful and rocky (they've divorced several times), but they always manage to come back together.
