I must admit that I was a bit skeptical when I was asked to take part in the blog tour and review SCOURGE as I am not a big fan of medical thrillers. I am sorry but I just find the constant use of medical terminology boring and want to skip parts of the book. However, I agreed to read the book and fortunately, I didn't encounter the same problem with SCOURGE as with other novels in that genre.

Yes, we still get the terminology required --it is a medical thriller, after all-- but it is not boring

This is a well researched and detailed medical thriller, that feels almost too real for comfort. Enjoyable, especially if you like feeling frustrated at the hubris of scientists, at plodding and gullible authorities, and at religious extremists. I know I do.

The best book of the year.

Amazing. The level of research and understanding of several areas of science is unmatched in anything I've ever read. The ethical questions are equally complex and compelling. But those impressive accomplishments would be wasted if it hadn't been so well written. I recommend this book to everyone and hope they enjoy it as much as I did.
