After Jack Slade's twin brother is murdered by a ruthless cattle baron, he becomes a U.S. Marshall in order to bring the killer to justice. But Jack's thirst for revenge may take precedence over the law.
You can't go wrong with this first book in Lyle Brandt's Western series! The Lawman hooked me from the start with its great prose and easy-to-read style. The characters are enjoyable and easy to keep track of, and the story is packed with just enough action and emotion to keep you turning the pages. I'm a big fan and will definitely be reading more from Brandt.
The book was very good, but I didn't like how it ended. The man risks his life to avenge his fiances attack and near death and then she leaves him because she's scared she could be attacked again. I think if she wanted to leave she should have gone with him not leave him after how he was so brave for her sake.
This is the 1st western I have read and I found it to be very predictable. I enjoyed the story about twins and redemption but it couldn't hold my attention very well. I will try another book and a different author before I determine if this genre is for me or not.
