Mr Vine is a great hi-story teller.

A classic, which I recommend reading. I've enjoyed reading it each time I've read it since I first read it back in 1985. Each time I read it I feel a yearning for the Wey & Arun Canal to be reopened. There does need to be an updated edition to reflect the restoration work carried out since 1985.
