The Marriage Bargain

Stephanie Dees

THEIR MARRIAGE BARGAIN is the fourth book in the Family Blessings series. I loved everything about this beautiful story and I'm sad that the series is over. Stephanie Dees has a way of grabbing her readers and she never lets us go. Cameron Quinn has returned home to Alabama to take care of her sister's two small children. He left away years ago when his step father kicked him out at the tender age of fifteen. Jules Sheehan is taking care of the kids since that i
I have enjoyed the entire Family Blessings series. The Marriage Bargain is book four in the series and could probably be enjoyed as a stand alone if needed. Just be aware that all of the other siblings and their families from previous books do have scenes in this novel and many interactions with the main characters.

I loved this story! It is a marriage of convenience plot, which is one of my favorites. Juliet and Cam were such likeable characters who both struggled in the way they viewed themselv

This was a great marriage of convenience story! I loved the way Jules and Quinn are working together to care for Eleanor and Emma. They get to know each other quickly in often overwhelming circumstances, and the characters from the previous books in the series play an integral role in providing support and encouragement. I thought the author skillfully handled the issue of different ethnicity with sensitivity- not ignoring it, but not letting it overshadow things. The plot conflict comes when Qu ...more

"The Marriage Bargain" by Stephanie Dees is the fourth book in the Family Blessings series. The author has crafted a beautiful and wonderful series that I'm sad to see come to an end. This time the story is about Jules Sheehan and Cameron Quinn. Cameron left Red Hill Springs two years ago when his uncle kicked him out at the age of fifteen. Now he is back to help care for his younger sisters. Jules Sheehan, on the other hand, has been caring for the kids since that is what their mother, Glory, w ...more

This is such a special story with some seriously realistic issues and experiences people deal with today. Juliet, Jules Sheehan's world is upended when her best friend Glory, and her husband tragically die in a car crash. Glory's will stipulates that her daughters are to be cared for by Jules. The perfectionist now balances life with children and her business, Take the Cake.
Cameron Quinn is a successful author and world traveler. The handsome biracial man quickly comes back to the town his step

Just Reads Tours presents The Family Blessings series by author Stephanie Dees.

When the opportunity arose to read not just Stephanie Dee’s upcoming release from Love Inspired, The Marriage Bargain, but also the previous three novels of the Family Blessings series, I excitedly signed up. It’s not often I have the chance to read an entire series, one after the other; plus, it’s Love Inspired, a line I trust to provide a good wholesome love story. The author, Stephanie Dees, seems to be a fairly n

As others have stated, this is a marriage of convenience story. You don't get many of those in a modern setting, most of them are in a historical setting! I very much enjoyed this one! I have loved all the Family Blessings books and the Sheehan family. Although Jules has been in the other books, I have been waiting for her story. She's a baker and a planner! I knew she'd have a story that upended her "planned" life and that's what happened. She suddenly had 2 young children dropped in her lap wh ...more

The Family Blessings books from Stephanie Dees contain stories of unconventional families and sweet, sweet romance. I had a lot of fun getting to know these lovable characters, their fears and dreams, their quirks and strengths, all in a small-town setting. Each one has challenges to overcome, but they never have to do so alone.

In The Marriage Bargain, Jules Sheehan is willing to do anything for two sweet girls in her care—including proposing a marriage of convenience to their uncle, Cameron Qui

My sentiments are a bit difficult to place for this one. It moved WAY too quickly and had events that would never happen as quickly or easily as they did. Having said that though, as someone who reads a lot of heart-breaker stories, this book is one of those perfect options to read afterward as a pick-me-up. The initial situation the characters find themselves in seems like an impossible mission, but everything seems to fit together for them too perfectly for them to fail.

The Marriage Bargain tells the story of Juliet “Jules” Sheehan, who becomes an instant mother when her best friend, Glory, is killed in a car accident.

Cam Quinn, the girl's uncle, returns to town with every intention of adopting his nieces, but he didn’t count on Jules being there, nor her determination to fulfill his sister’s dying wishes.

I can’t imagine what Jules and Cam went through after losing Glory. I lost my baby brother several years ago, and I’m still not fully recovered from the sudde

Jules is the sister to Joe, Ash and Wynn who are main characters in books 1-3. I love reading about the Sheehan family and I hope there are more to this series! There is so much love, fun times, and real life situations portrayed in every book.

After the death of her friend Glory; Jules is granted custody of her 2 young girls. However, Glory’s brother Cam comes back into town from traveling abroad and wants custody of the girls as well. Cam and Glory had a terrible upbringing and it’s hard for Ca

This sweet book is an awesome ending for a series. It can also be read as a stand alone. The dilemmas and drama continue as well as the baby fever! A romance that blossomed through a contract marriage to save the kids. Another heart wrenching story of adoption & foster care that this time deals with a little too close to the heart. It had me crying and begging for more at the same time.

This is the final installment in the “Family Blessings” series, and it’s by far my favorite.
I enjoy marriage of convenience stories, and I don’t often find them in contemporary stories. Dees touches on a number of difficult topics, such as abandonment, abuse, adoption, and racism. The characters demonstrate realistic growth over the course of the book, and the secondary characters are enjoyable and well-integrated. Emma and Eleanor were charming, too. It’s a quick read, as well as an emotional o

The Marriage Bargain is the final Sheehan sibling’s story and this one focuses on younger sister Jules. One of the things I really like about this series is that each time we come to a new book, some time has passed. Jules has had a really tough time as she is trying to adopt her late best friend, Glory’s two little girls. However, two family members stand in her way, the grandmother-who is not a really nice person, and Cameron Quinn, Glory’s older brother.

Why? Why? Why? (thwacking my head on my desk until my forehead sports a goose egg size bump) And it serves me right because this is my first Stephanie Dees book!!!! How did I miss her earlier novels? What was I thinking? Oh....that's right, clearly I wasn't thinking because if I had been I would have read the other three books in this series already. Gah! I hate when I'm late to the reading party! Stephanie Dees is amazing and I'm a lifelong reading fan now.

Competent and confident Jules Sheehan has it all together. But when her best friend loses her life and Jules becomes the caregiver to two little girls, her careful control begins to shift. Then, the girls’ uncle shows up at her door and the threat of a custody battle with the girls’ grandmother drives her to desperation.

Cameron Quinn left Red Hill Springs intent on never looking back but he cannot let his sister’s children live a life like he had. When Jules proposes a marriage of convenience, h

The Marriage Bargain has humor, heart and a gentle reminder that God can bring beauty out of pain & loss.

Marriage of convenience stories are always fun, and the author does a wonderful job portraying the hero and heroine's uncertainty about marrying. Because they're determined to protect the girls, they agree to it. Jules & Cam have a lovely chemistry, and I appreciated how their relationship started as teammates then built into a tender romance. Some of the story's dialogue made me lau

Another home run from Stephanie Dees! She brings us back to the town of Red Hill Springs, this time for a marriage of convenience. When Jules' best friend Glory and her husband are killed in a car accident, Jules drops everything to be there for Glory's two little girls. Also on the scene is Glory's half-brother Cam. Immediate sparks of attraction fly, and when Glory's negligent mother tries to get custody of the girls, Jules and Cam marry to give the children a stable life.

What a sweet and compelling story! I instantly loved the characters of Juliet and Cam. They had a great love for Cam’s orphaned nieces and acted in very unselfish ways to make sure the little girls had a safe, loving home. This is the best type of a “marriage of convenience” story and you know long before the story ends that all the members of this little family will find the happiness they are seeking. But don’t think this story is all sweetness and light. The author does a great job in telling ...more

4.5 stars! Such a wonderful conclusion to the Family Blessings series! This book can definitely be read as a stand-alone, just like the other three books in the series, but reading them all is recommended since you won't want to leave Red Hill Springs and the Sheehan family once you start reading!
This book tells the heartfelt story of Jules, the youngest of the Sheehan family, and Cam, a neglected boy now turned famous author and traveler. Jules ends up getting custody of Cam's nieces and they f

This was my first book by Dees. It caught my eye on NetGalley because I love marriage of convenience stories. But this was so much more. I love how this book included so many deep and difficult themes in life including but not limited to: abandonment, racism, abuse, adoption, foster care...

I love when two people grow to love each other through challenging circumstances. And I loved all the precious moments with the kids.

I also loved the realistic difficulties and conversations in this book.

Ah, Red Hill Springs. How we have grown together. You have kept me entertained, occasionally irritated me, and always enamored me. The Sheehan family has expanded by more than double with falling in love and getting married and foster adopting a passel of Minions of twenty. Each resident has a story to tell from Joe and Claire who both know what it's like to not have family and to find family. From Jordan (Claire's twin sister) and Ash (the local doctor) and finding their own kind of love over t ...more

The Marriage Bargain
Family Blessings #4
By Stephanie Dees

Jules Sheehan opened her home to the two children of her best friend following a tragic accident that left them orphans. Providing a home for Eleanor and Emma is something she never thought would become a reality but she's determined to keep them safe from their grandmother and she'll do anything to keep that promise. She just never imagined she'd have to get married to keep it.

The final Sheehan sibling is the main character of The Marriage Bargain.   Jules took on guardianship of her best friend's two young children when the friend and her husband leave the children orphans. Their long lost uncle shows up. The grandmother who is a drug addict petitions for custody. They draw a judge who favors biological connections and married couples when awarding guardianship. In desperation, Jules asks Cam, the uncle, to marry her. Surprisingly, he agrees. Once they are married, B ...more

Marriages of convenience are one of my favorite premises, but pulling them off in a contemporary setting can be difficult. I think Ms. Dees did a good job of a plausible story line giving the reasoning and feelings of both the hero and heroine and why they decided to dive in. While I may think it a bit far fetched having experience with the custody courts, if I was in the same position as Jules, I can't say that I wouldn't come up with a similar hare brained idea. I've also seen the courts make ...more

This story pulled me right in! I'm always looking for modern day marriage of convenience books to read and this one is a winner. I loved the characters from the opening lines and the obstacles just kept dropping in their paths and they kept right on fighting for what truly mattered. This book doesn’t waste any time throwing our two main characters into a sticky situation.

Jules and Cam are attracted to each other but don’t plan on marrying each other right after they reconnect but that is just what they do and then let the romance and the fighting the romance begin.

This is a wonderful story of two people coming together with one common goal but they must overcome their own personal obstacles a long the way. I appreciated Jules struggle with wanting to be perfect but realizin

This is another great book in the Family Blessings series by Stephanie Dees. It's the fourth book in the series but can be read without having read the first three, however I highly recommend that you read the them, too, because they all are so good! From beginning to end, the character development of Jules and Cam drew me into the story. I had moments that had me laughing and others that had me feeling emotional. I really enjoyed this story and finished in hours. I loved the themes of family, faith, and love that resonated and brought warm feelings to my heart. Love is powerful.
