Exodus, the Second book of the Bible written by Moses as inspired by the Holy Spirit. After Joseph died and the Egyptians forgot what he did for the nation. The children of Israel became numerous and filled the land of Egypt, the King became afraid that they might join their enemies and fight against them. He enslaved the people of God and planned to kill all new born Jewish boys. Moses was put in a basket by his mother and the sister of Pharaoh and brought up has her son.
On growing up Moses empathized with his people and killed a man who was hurting one of the his people (the Jews), Moses killed him and ran away. When he ran away he met his wife and had children. God appeared to him in the burning bush and commissioned him to lead His people out of the land of Egypt.
Moses returned to Egypt, told Pharaoh that God said to let His people go. Pharaoh relented and his heart was hardened and he would not let the people go and repeatedly plagues rained down on the land of Egypt. After he lost his son, he finally relented and told Moses to go.
The people of Egypt saw several signs and wonders including the red sea parted for them to cross over, to be delivered form the Egyptian army. They however frequently grumble and complain against God. This culminated in their asking Aaron to make a golden calf for them to worship when Moses was on the mountain with God.
God gave them commandments. Moses walked with God. The relationship Moses had with God was inspirational. God called him his friend.

The account of the children of Israel. Their sojourn in Egypt, that lead to their bond age in the same. Moses telling Pharaoh, God said left my people to. their journey in the wilderness. The building of the tabernacle. A wonderful book. An excellent read.

I have read the Book of Exodus several times. It is a wonderful account of the Children of Israel in Egypt in bondage and how God uses Moses to bring them out. It tells of the crossing of the Red Sea on dry ground and so much more. It is a wonderful book to read and to study.

One of the best narratives in the entire Bible, but PHEW all that law. Can't wait for Leviticus. God's dialogues with Moses are top-notch.
