I so fell in love with this book! We get an impressive back story explaining where shifters come from and how they fit in the world today. Anika does not know what she is just that she can change into any shape that she wants which is a big no-no. Hiding as best she can her life is interrupted by a mate she does not want and some secrets about her past that come to light. I have to say there are quite a few twists along the way and the development had me completely hooked as it all unfolded. Bes ...more

Sassy, classy and a little....

Anika is the definition of survivor. Quick to run, almost impossible to trust in others, sarcasm and snark very thick. But, then she quite literally fights for her life and runs from her first mate. In her safety she gets some answers, but mostly an adventure and riddles she doesnt understand. This brings her to her second mate whom she cant help but trust quicker than she was expecting. They get even more riddle and continue on their journey where she meets her thi

This was not the book for me. I loved the cover and the book blurb seemed like something I'd be interested in. The book was edited well but that's as far as I can go with enjoyment. The main character was immature and annoying. Even the mates/men seemed juvenile and appeared to pop up randomly. I feel like the "chosen one with a quest" story line is just played out and while I appreciate the authors originality with bringing in snake and owl shifters it didn't work for me. Being from NC, I was e ...more

I received a free ARC copy, and this is my honest review

So we have a girl who doesn't know what she is. She grew up in an orphanage unwanted and never adopted. An outcast by all rights. Wolves want to kill her, and take her skin, and wouldn't you know it, the wolf who got the closest to doing so is a fated mate. Wow, what a twist! Now they are on a journey (think Lord of the Rings crossed with Indiana Jones) to stop Artemis from waking and destroying the shifters she created, and the morphlings

I fucking loved this book. I will say, one of the authors, not mentioning which one, is an evil little bitch (but I still love her and her twisted ways).

You get sucked in right away. It's fast paced and action packed. (Also, BTdubs, RIAH IS MINE, I LICKED HIM FIRST). There's just something about a loveable asshole that I'm drawn to.

So, long story short - the girl is weird, finds out more about herself and meets some hotties along the way. Oh, and there's a save the world prophecy, no pressure.

The tale that has been woven here in Of Blood and Twisted Roots is an unbelievable beginning to the Rise of the Morphlings. Book one sets up an exciting world that involves many types of shifters and one very special Morphling. Together they have to learn the strengths that each one of them can bring to their group in order to keep their worlds safe.

This is not the typical shifter meets girl and falls in love. The relationships are not all instant and they have to learn to live with each other,

I absolutely loved everything about this book from the amazing storyline to the kick-ass FMC and everything in get plenty of hotness and there is more to come....but what I truly love the most is the storyline it is so different and unique the FMC has awesome powers and you don't even get to know the full extent of what she can do yet which makes me need the next book lol you get an interesting background story and then you have the guys and man oh man there's alo

I really liked this story. It has an interesting plot and sets up nicely for what will be a very intruiging book 2. The female main character has a powerful, quirky ability, and I enjoyed watching her struggle with her identity, which felt very realistic considering her abilities. She is put into some unique situations, and then meets her mates pretty quickly, all while on the run from hunters, and while trying to save the world. A lot happens in a short span of time in this book, and I am defin ...more

This books is a really great start to a new series. I thought it was very different to a lot of the paranormal stories out there. Anika has been alone most of her life not really understanding who or what she is. She know the wolves are chasing her and she must hide from them. Suddenly she is given information from the head mistress of the orphanage she grew up. She learns she has mates who she needs to find. There is so much action and intrigue in this book. Anika doesn't give up even when some ...more

Fantastic read, a must!

Fantastic story. This book will keep you enthralled. A unique look on shifters. The story focuses on a feisty heroine who knows nothing about her past or her kind. In a journey to find the missing pieces and to save the world she starts to come across her mates. With help from them and anikas abilities they must battle to defeat mother panther.
A great start to the series can’t wait to see what happens next and find out who anikas other mates are and to see the full extent

This was a fantastic start to the series!
The story is a different take on shifter society and with a feisty mc and her diverse guys.
Loved the mythological roots of the shifter and morphling origin stories and how these have shaped their current society.
I feel like the action is only just getting started and that the main focus of this book was character development and world building.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to book 2.

Some sexual content.
Anika was an orphan, a nobody, a freak, she was always on the run and tried to stay hidden at night.
I like the little explaining part at the beginning, it makes the story more understandable. The story has a lot going on, so you won't get bored.
The one thing I didn't care for was the mate thing with Anika, it just seems stretched out and forced. For the most part it was a great book. I'll be watching for book 2.

This erm... had a brill concept a mate from different species serpents, wolf and an owl Anika has to kill Artemis by putting a moon stone on her forehead before she rises even though the wolves are hunting her (for her changeling status) for 2 authors of this Caliber it was rushed not fast paced, there was plot holes everything was just kind of swept under the rug I don’t know it just didn’t sit right with me which is a shame.

I loved everything about this book!! The story is unique and fresh, with an interesting spin on shifter society. Anika is strong and sassy and her men are sexy and sweet (well except for Riah, he doesn't do sweet but he's still my favorite). I love how each guy is something different and how protective they all are. I'm dying to know who else is going to join the harem! That ending has me on pins and needles! Can't wait to see where they go next!!

Its good

I like the book and will probably read the next one. However I don't like reading series that are not done. So I maybe won't remember to get the next one. I don't like no patience. It was really good though and I like the characters also its going in a good direction I think.

I enjoyed the hell out of this book. I wasn't ready for it to end. I will be eagerly awaiting book 2. If you like shifters and kick ass heroines that can take care of themselves then this book is for you.

This was an amazing read! Anika is a strong BAMF who can still portray insecurities without it seeming out of character. Mekhi and Shane are easy to love, and Riah grows on you. The plot was well written and well placed, and the ending was well done. I cannot wait for the next book!
