Looking for a book to read for a Challenge I came across this and then found out it is book five in a series. I am quite sure I missed out on character development from the previous books but I can still give this one four stars for readability, a great mystery, an excellent MC, and a very unexpected ending.

The story is very much a police procedural revolving around Sheriff Cammie Farnsworth. She is whip smart and very good at her job but this time around she makes a mistake she should not have made and finds it hard to forgive herself. For readers of the whole series so far, the final page must be a big shock!

As always B. T. Lord gives you enough twists and turns to keep you guessing

Twin Ponds may be a bucolic little town with the usual number of characters found in any town. But there are secrets kept that Sheriff Cammie Farnsworth must uncover to solve a murder. The victim, a birdwatcher, is found shot in the back near a white crow in the local woods with only a murder of crows as witnesses. Did one of her birdwatching group do it or did her past catch up to her? And how will the secrets uncovered affect the Sheriff and her future? B. T. Lord doesn't disappoint in this latest installment of her Twin Ponds series.

‘Murder Among Crows’ is an excellent goodreads because BT Lord’s beautiful writing style has Sheriff, Cammie facing doubt, regret, guilt and loss. Her armor, the invincible way she cracks cases, takes a big dent. The ‘whodunit’ person is total shock reading. How she copes is compelling reading with tears not held back. ‘Rick and Emmy? Will they ever get together. A Perfect Murder’ has been my fav, but this book is even better! It’s #5 in a series and it’s the best. I recommend this book as the best, but all the books are great goodreads.

Entertaining

This series of books were new to me 2 weeks ago. Since then I've devoured each installment. It's a mix of police procedural with cozy muster built in. This series should be read in order as every book further explains the main characters. My only disappointment is I just purchased the last book and now must wait.

Another great book by B. T. Lord

The characters are developed well and you feel as though you enter their world. The book is well written and continuing with basically the same characters makes this book very readable.

What an incredible story

This was the most intense story I've read recently. Suspenseful and mysterious that appeared to be ending anticlimacticly then blowing my socks off. This is a must read for lovers of mysteries.

Wow!

Very suspenseful and thrilling! This is a darker book than the earlier ones but is excellent and exciting. Cammie faces situations from her past while solving the murder. The ending is a shock and a real cliff hanger!! Excellent reading experience.

Pretty Good, Lightweight

This is a pretty good, easy read, lightweight book. Part of a similar weight series. Some romance, mostly about a small town female sheriff

Low 3

Parts were okay but overall it didn't fully work for me. I'm not really sure why. The ending is hooky also, which I'm not a fan of.
