The Shifters of Distance #1
The Omega's Wolf Protector
Back in Distance, Russell pleads for sanctuary and finds himself under the direct supervision of his childhood friend, Jameson. They grow closer as Russell adjusts to life back in his traditional pack with his son—a son whose biological father has decided he finally wants to stake claim to—a claim he would likely win against the unmated omega, Russell.Jameson has a solution, one that includes their mating. Russell agrees ,and the family of three finds itself growing into a family of four when Russell becomes pregnant with his mate’s baby. Love, his mate’s pregnancy, and the tricky balancing act of becoming the third father to a four year old son become Jameson’s norm and he couldn’t be happier. The Wolf Protector’s Omega is a super sweet with knotty heat second chance male pregnancy shifter romance with an adorable four year old shifter, an omega with a traditional and uptight pack alpha for a brother, and an alpha who would do anything for his one that got away.

This was sweet for the most part. It was however, confusing at times. Russell's brother came across as a total asshole but I felt like the authors tried to redeem him or make it seem he did what he did to protect Russell but I didn't buy it. Same with his family. They were all stuck on "tradition" but yet they just accept Russell back easily enough?? I wanted them to grovel more. I mean they sent away a young and pregnant omega out into the world on his own with basically nothing to try to survive. They should have been kissing his ass!
Then the same with Kyle, Ollie's sperm donor. He came across as conniving and shady but then all of a sudden he's good? And wants to be a part of Ollie's life? I don't know...it was just all weird to me.
I loved Russell and Jameson though. They got their second chance at happiness and a wonderful little family.
I'm going to try Travis' book but I really did not like him in this one. Let's see if he redeems himself or is a total asshat.

After reading and loving the first two books of the "Unicorn Omegas" by these authors I was looking forward to this book. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed by the lack of imagination that went into the plot. There was virtually no conflict, everything solved so quickly that you barely noticed something was wrong. The entire story read more like an epilogue without a beginning, middle or end... just the "happily ever after." The characters were annoyingly flat and undefined. I struggled not to give up on the book halfway through and forced myself to finish it just to get it over and done with. I doubt I'll read anymore from this series.

In a shifter world where pack law and obedience are considered essential, an omega shifter who made a mistake faces an uphill battle when forced to return to his birth pack in a town called Distance after years of banishment. As dire as Russell’s circumstances are, and as much suspense as there is around his acceptance or potential renewed banishment, there is also a lot of hope. This is mainly because Jameson, the pack beta, is about as supportive as he can be without upsetting their alpha. It is one of many nice surprises and adds a lot to the cuteness factor of this novella.

Liked it
Short, sweet, and sexy. I really liked it. They were perfect together and the forgiveness and love in the family heart warming. Can't wait to find out who is the Alpha brother's mate, hoping it's the bear midhusband.

Banished Baby
Getting kicked out of your pack is bad enough, but to get kicked out of your family & also allowed no contact with anyone: family & friends included. With a baby on the way and no visible means of support is terrible, then to add insult to injury - the baby's father from another pack says, It's your problem! If your pack doesn't want you why would mine? Why would I?
Russell was in a predicament he'd never imagined, but a testament to his strength of character is he survived five years in the City working minimum wage jobs to support himself with his advancing pregnancy, then growing child. His child gave him the will to continue when life became too overwhelming. Friendless, no family, potential target for predators, and he had a little pup to protect - that he'd die protecting.
Returning home was difficult. If he had any other options he would have taken one of them. But fear is a strong propelling force - compelling Russell to flee with little Oliver to the very people / Wolves that three him away. Fortunately his Banishment time was up, otherwise he wouldn't have ever been allowed entry by the Beta guards at the Entrance Gate to the Distance Packlands.
His mantra that all this was to protect his son is what gave him the courage to face the stoic, icy, by the rules Alpha - who despite being his brother was his harshest critic & hardest to read. Would he even be granted temporary Sanctuary?
Travis was one mean cold SOB. It seemed impossible to like him or forgive him for how he treated Russell. All for the sake of old traditions that were archaic at best - unsympathetic & cruel at their worse with no regard to the familial "bond". Get Mated or Get Out again! Russell was foisted onto a former friend now a Beta, who was charged to monitor him during his probationary period. He felt so ashamed, but angry too. The only bright spot was watching his son for the first time being able to shift whenever he wanted and also having a group of young cousins / Wolf Pups to run, tumble, & play with.
And this is just the beginning of this very entertaining story of redemption, forgiveness, acceptance, and finally a HEA, but with a terror to great to imagine - his precious son being taken from him.

Russell made the unfortunate mistake of falling for the lines of the wrongs g Alpha and ended up with a surprise baby and getting banned from his pack. But circumstances bring him back home to Distance to seek safety. There, he reunited with Jameson, his friend, his supporter, and , apparatus True Mate.

This was an easy and enjoyable read. The characters we cute, especially Ollie, and they have some clear and interesting development. Jameson was the most adorable and sexy alpha. He was so kind and caring and perfect. And his pinning warmed my heart. I did notice some typos, but other than that it was a great read.

So sweet
This has to be one of the sweetest and best romances by this author yet. I loved how Jameson knew from childhood who his true mate was, and never took anyone even after Russell was banished. I loved how Russell eventually forgave Kyle, and how they all got along for Ollie. I can't wait for Book 2

Brilliant
This book was written in a completely different way for a shifter story . I wasn't sure at first but once I read the first couple of chapters I could not stop reading. Really looking forward to see how this series continues and what happens next

Started out well...
This started out really well! Fast paced, hot and fun However, at about midpoint it kind of fizzled out. I will continue onto the next though!

Good story
I have read numerous stories from this author. I liked this story but I thought maybe we should have had a little more back story. But nevertheless, I enjoyed it.

August 13, 2018DNF at 24 %. Just could not get into this. The writing felt stilted, and everyone was a jerk to Russell.
