Despite the flaws in this book, I enjoyed it, mainly because it has a good “feel” to it. The characters and the physical and social setting blend together to give a realistic gestalt that pulls you into the story. Which is a good thing, because this author is in need of all sorts of editing.

For example, editors often comment that a book “starts too early.” In this case, the book starts, and we get a third of the way through before the story starts. There is too much talking in the opening

Rags is 16 and a professional outlaw. Following the death of Hyperion and with the salvation of the Kingdom in progress she finds new freedom unexpected. A ghost from the past called Antiquity surfaces in the form of an assassin targeting her and the new leader Henrick Oreson. She is forced to flee her family (again) and goes to Zephyr in order to protect them and then the upcoming council meeting she has a choice - go to the front lines and fight or let the Kingdom fall. No shortage of trouble and turmoil for our characters as the final book wraps up the series. Great closure that fills in the story of why the post apocalyptic world is the way it is. These stories will stick with me. Great job to the author on this series.
