Falling for a fireman is so cliché.

Yet, here I am. The elementary school teacher who's all worked up over New York's finest.
It started out as a simple ride along. Now the only brass pole I want to slide down is his.
I know, good girls don't think those thoughts, right?

Wrong!

The sculpted jaw, the tight t-shirt rippling with muscles. I'm only human.
Now, I'm the only witnes

Ethan Stokes is a NYC fireman. Chloe Parker is an elementary school teacher. The blurb sounded promising but issues cropped up early on.

The good ole boy, objectify women mentality of this fire hall was a huge turn-off. Chloe can’t even stop in to arrange a field trip for her students without being ogled and harassed by the men, and then Ethan proceeds to make lame ‘boys will be boys’ type excuses for them, rather than apologize and address their bad behavior. In fact, he lets it contin

Tldr: gross hero, unrealistic scenes, don't do it
I can't recall another book that's managed to skeeze me out this much in not even three whole chapters. Which isn't to say there haven't been any of course but I've at least tried to get to five chapters before giving up on something. Opening: fire alarm is sounding and yet our hero has time to play with a dog and have a pretty lengthy convo with his boss...now I'm no expert but pretty sure no firehouse works that way because hello EVERY SECOND CO

Smokin’ was a cute story. Chloe is an elementary teacher that wants to take her kids on a field trip to the firehouse. Sparks fly when she meets Ethan the second in command at the firehouse.

I liked the plot of the story. An arsonist is currently ravaging the town. Ethan wants to investigate but his captain is against it. All bets are off when Chloe becomes a victim of the latest fire.

I liked these two together but some of the things they said to each other made me cringe. I did not care for the

What’s not to love about Hot Firemen. Well certainly nothing when it comes to the storyline for Smokin’. The author has done a wonderful job of mixing a great story with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Chloe is a sassy, stubborn, independent 3rd grade teacher, who meets Ethan, a local fireman, when she shows up at the station to inquire about a field trip for her class. While on a ride along, Chloe gets to see first hand the heroics of the firemen, especially Ethan.

Smokin’ is about Ethan and Chloe’s journey to love.
This is my first read by this author and unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book as much as I anticipated. The characters were weak and personally, I felt they were rather insensitive db’s- both of them. I also could not connect with them, because of the above, so I couldn’t really invest in their drama. A 2.75 star rating for me. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.

Smokin’ is SMOKIN’! Smokin’ is a pretty great fire fighter novel. Add in the elementary school teacher and you just know this one was going to be good. This book has romance and heat, but also has a bit of a mystery. This isn’t just your everyday firefighter novel. This book is a stand-alone novel, but I feel this will turn into a series with all the other fire fighters.
I liked the plot of this story. An elementary school teacher looking for a field trip for her kids. A fire fighter just trying

There was just something about this book that was off. The writing seemed a little choppy, but there weren’t any glaring grammatical errors or anything. The dialogue was strange and didn’t flow right. There were some inconsistencies and things that didn’t quite work.

One example is how they talk about how big Ethan is, stating he’s 6’5” and built, yet somehow Chloe is able to find his skinny jeans and a tight fitting t-shit and make them look better than Ethan ever could. Not happening, I don’t

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This was my first book by Olivia and I was hooked from the start until the end. I loved it and will search out more of her books. Ethan is not your typical fireman, well maybe he is, he’s hot, sexy, and all man if you know what I mean. Chloe is school teacher and she’s sweet, sexy, spunky and somewhat of a spitfire. Chloe stops by the firehouse to see if she can bring her class in for a tour, little did she know that she would meet Eth ...more

Smokin' was a steamy romance read with a very hot crew of fireman. I really enjoyed this story from start to finish with the chemistry between the two main characters and the underlying mystery in the story.

Ethan I absolutely loved reading about this character and found him be such an amazing hero that really showcased the amazing work that firemen do every day.

Chloe was a sweet and stubborn character that really loved what she does. She is an independent heroine that I really enjoyed reading a

What a great start to this series. I loved this story I could not put the book down. Ethan and Chloe had so much chemistry together. This was obvious from the first time the two of them meant. Ethan was a hot sexy firefighter who was a hero. Chloe was a school teacher and she was so sweet but also so very stubborn. That was one of the qualities that pissed Ethan off the most. It seemed that no matter what happened between them they could not stay away from each other. You throw in suspicious fir ...more

An interesting romantic tale that included a mystery, sabotage and many sensual scenes. Both the main male and female characters are assertive, forthright and strong-willed people. These two turned sleuth in order to solve a mystery amidst the early stages of their romance. There were a lot of adventures and scrapes that mostly the main female character got into due to her being so impetuous. The main male character was literally her knight in shining armor coming along and saving her in whateve ...more

Between romance, insta-love and investigation
It's a simple romance to read, well written, with good characters that their character makes endearing: They have their feet on the ground and sometimes they're abrasive. Between their attraction and the danger that threatens their lives, I loved the way their relationship intensifies .
Chloe is a teacher and would like to have her students visit the fire station in her neighborhood. She meets Ethan who offers him to spend the evening at the barrack to

An intriguing firefighter romance, I liked the idea of the story's outline and the characters strong points. It is was kept me reading the fast-paced heated, mystery laced, "suspenseful" romance.
I did feel like there were some holes throughout the story, character banter awkwardness, and some parts that did not make a whole lot of sense. ( Example: having your lungs damaged by smoke inhalation, but coming home from the hospital the next day after being unconscious, walking up flights of stairs

Ok but 2.5 stars more accurate.

I’m not really sure what to say about this book. It definitely painted the NY Police Department in a very bad light. Also there were times that the fire department didn’t look very professional either. There seemed to be a lot of foul language used for no reason. Since I use a few myself, that usually wouldn’t be anything that I would notice but it just seemed excessive. I was not really in to either of the main characters and I’m not sure why. The guy had been des

Chloe and Ethan meet when she goes to the fire station near her school where she teaches to ask to bring her school kids for a field trip. Ethan is HOT! Like, scorching smoking HOT! He makes her a deal, she does a ride along with him and they could make the field trip happen. He is a real life hero, nothing stopping him from saving people in bad situations. He saved not only citizens but also saves her a few times. She is totally smitten by him.

When they finally get together, oh my, it's sooo🔥🔥🔥

This was a good debut novel by this author and I will be reading more from her. This had a smooth storyline with suspense added in. The twists and turns will have you wondering if they will find the bad guys before anyone is seriously hurt or killed. Ethan is a firefighter and turned into a social media hero after a fire. Chloe is a nice school teacher who can hold her own. She is independent, stubborn and feisty when needed. The two of these have smokin' chemistry and a strong connection. Neith ...more

Initially I wasn't sure if I liked Ethan or not, he came across as a bit obnoxious but he grew on my, pretty quickly actually. I loved the banter between the guys at the firehouse, a little sexist but I just bear in mind what a group of women talk about and I am quite accepting of all the guy talk. Chloe is a multi-faceted woman. Strong and passionate and yet gentle and loving, especially with her pupils. Her interactions with her pupils were fantastic, she was strict but fair and, as the reader ...more

Okay

This story was surprising in the detail that went into the job of firefighters. One thing remiss was that firefighters don't waste time talking if the alarm is sounding. Only about the call, nothing else. Also one gets the distinct impression that the author isn't fond of NYPD. They aren't portrayed in the best light. I was surprised at the way the teacher was so forward and touchy-feely when she meets the hero in the bar. Which was , I thought, out of character. They have one ride-along and
