The good ole boy, objectify women mentality of this fire hall was a huge turn-off. Tldr: gross hero, unrealistic scenes, don't do it
I can't recall another book that's managed to skeeze me out this much in not even three whole chapters. Which isn't to say there haven't been any of course but I've at least tried to get to five chapters before giving up on something. Smokin’ was a cute story. Chloe is an elementary teacher that wants to take her kids on a field trip to the firehouse. Sparks fly when she meets Ethan the second in command at the firehouse.
I liked the plot of the story. An arsonist is currently ravaging the town. Ethan wants to investigate but his captain is against it. All bets are off when Chloe becomes a victim of the latest fire.

What’s not to love about Hot Firemen. Well certainly nothing when it comes to the storyline for Smokin’. The author has done a wonderful job of mixing a great story with characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Chloe is a sassy, stubborn, independent 3rd grade teacher, who meets Ethan, a local fireman, when she shows up at the station to inquire about a field trip for her class. While on a ride along, Chloe gets to see first hand the heroics of the firemen, especially Ethan.

This is my first read by this author and unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book as much as I anticipated. The characters were weak and personally, I felt they were rather insensitive db’s- both of them. I also could not connect with them, because of the above, so I couldn’t really invest in their drama. A 2.75 star rating for me. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.

This is my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Chloe, witnesses a crime and Ethan has to protect her. Along the way feelings are explored and it gets yummy from there.
Smokin’ is SMOKIN’! Smokin’ is a pretty great fire fighter novel. Add in the elementary school teacher and you just know this one was going to be good. This book has romance and heat, but also has a bit of a mystery. This isn’t just your everyday firefighter novel. This book is a stand-alone novel, but I feel this will turn into a series with all the other fire fighters.

There was just something about this book that was off. The writing seemed a little choppy, but there weren’t any glaring grammatical errors or anything. The dialogue was strange and didn’t flow right. There were some inconsistencies and things that didn’t quite work.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This was my first book by Olivia and I was hooked from the start until the end. I loved it and will search out more of her books. Smokin' was a steamy romance read with a very hot crew of fireman. I really enjoyed this story from start to finish with the chemistry between the two main characters and the underlying mystery in the story.

An interesting romantic tale that included a mystery, sabotage and many sensual scenes. Both the main male and female characters are assertive, forthright and strong-willed people. These two turned sleuth in order to solve a mystery amidst the early stages of their romance. Chloe and Ethan meet when she goes to the fire station near her school where she teaches to ask to bring her school kids for a field trip. Ethan is HOT! Like, scorching smoking HOT! He makes her a deal, she does a ride along with him and they could make the field trip happen. He is a real life hero, nothing stopping him from saving people in bad situations. Also there were times that the fire department didn’t look very professional either. There seemed to be a lot of foul language used for no reason. This was a good read but I had the potential to be much better. The cover and book description were compelling. Firefighters are sexy, so it seemed like this book would be an easy winner. Unfortunately, with it's unrealistic scenarios, unlikable characters and reprehensible behaviors, there is a whole lot here that is a big turnoff. I love a good firefighter story...but Smokin’ had my jaw clenched from the start. Actually, the storyline was a good one—but the characters really needed another look. Ethan may have been easy on the eyes, but he and his firefighter buddies were basically pigs when it came to women. Chloe may have had the guts to stand up to them, but her friends were the stereotypical women.

This was a good debut novel by this author and I will be reading more from her. This had a smooth storyline with suspense added in. The twists and turns will have you wondering if they will find the bad guys before anyone is seriously hurt or killed. Ethan is a firefighter and turned into a social media hero after a fire. Chloe is a nice school teacher who can hold her own. She is independent, stubborn and feisty when needed. The two of these have smokin' chemistry and a strong connection. Neith
