My fiftieth choice would NOT be Peach.
Top spot on my list of occupational hazards? Yes.
Royal pain in the crumpets? Yes.
A bride of convenience? No.
But I’ve unexpectedly gone from royal bodyguard to monarch, having inherited a crown that was stolen from my family long before my birth. The ki...more
Hot Heir is a sweet, sexy hilarious stand alone by Pippa Grant. The characters are recurring from her other books but whether or not you have read any of them will not take away from your enjoyment of this book!
Viktor has been the lead bodyguard to His Highness, Prince Manning Frey, third son of the King of Stolland, for twelve years. It’s during the last year that he has gotten to know Miss Peach Maloney, best friend to Gracie, Manning’s wife. Very unexpectedly, Viktor is inform ...more
And I am very much disappointed. I really am. I am not sure what is wrong with this book. The story is dragging. The character does not develop very good. The chemistry is off. Not off the chart burning hot, but off cold and stiff.
I think what most does not work for me is the story pace. It is way too long. it feels dragging. I even fall asleep somewhere i ...more

But you’ll find the regular author’s elements. The humor, especially in the situations, was there. The characters’ mullings with a characteristic voice were aplenty. And of course, there was a lot of steam, and of the epic variety.

Pippa Grant definitely has a unique set of characters. There was crossovers from other books, which I've only read two of, and one really has to kind of go with the flow because there is one quirky thing after another. Hot air ballon rides that go awry, alpacas treated as a pet, polecats and nearly everything shaped like a heart. As for the main characters, Peach was as southern gal as one can get and Viktor was way too formal with his prim and proper way of talki ...more
Cute stand alone book in the world of Pippa Grant. While I've only read one other novel by Ms. Grant and therefore wasn't aware of most of the crossover characters, I could easily pick up the thread. It took me a little while to connect with these characters being that they are extremely quirky but they grew on me throughout the story. Folks already emotionally connected to the crossover characters would probably not experience that issue.
In Hot Heir, Viktor, personal bodyguard to His Ro ...more
The main characters, and even the secondary characters, kept me entertained throughout the book which was a marriage of convenience story. While the story was a little more silly side, I did feel that the actual story of Viktor and Peach could have shown through a tad bit more.
All in all, it was a ...more
The main characters were written extremely well with secondary ones adding enormously to this story. Each had a tale to tell which kept me entertained throughout the book; it was a fun, sexy, angsty read that I thoroughly enjoyed with great character development and an unusual ...more

With every Pippa Grant book I read, I find I love her stories more and more. I find Pippa and the characters she writes to be quirky and lovable. You never know what direction her books will take, but in the end, you can’t help falling in love with the stories or characters. I love her unique choices in character names. It’s not everyday you read about a Peach, Viktor, and Papaya!

If only this was a stand alone. There's like 50 other couples mentioned from I presume other Pippa Grant books that I haven't read and didn't care about.

I have received an ARC copy from the author for the honest review. So honestly if you want a laugh out romantic contract marriage love story, this is it. There are few common elements in Pippa's book.
-Berger twins and their antics ( my favorite )
-Characters from previous books which i also love though you can read this as stand alone also. But trust me you will be tempted to know more about them.
-Badass female protagonist
-Swoon worthy male protagonist

K, so there’s all this hilarity with the hot air balloons. Which, for me, don’t get old. There’s a ton of other stuff for comedic value, but that this couple was straight up jinxed and it was hilarious!
And then there’s the back and forth between super proper Viktor and feisty, fierce AF southern Peach (yeah, I never stopped laughing at the names) ...more
I’m an huge fan of Pippa Grant, she never disappoints me, her books are always full of surprises, craziness and tenderness.
So it is a first that this book didn’t work fully with me.
I was unable to felt for Peach, hopefully there was Viktor.
I do love strong willed heroine but something didn’t clicked for me with Peach, she was too much, her walls too strong, so much she can’t take matter in hand without hurting others in the pr ...more
Viktor and Peach have had a, well, tempestuous acquaintance since the beginning. They seem to share nothing except the inability to be civil to the other. So, of course they each need to get married to solve a major crisis.
Viktor is . . . well, he's a yummy surprise. Definitely the Grant hero I'd choose for myself.
Also included: a randy grandmother, hot air balloon antics, alpaca shenanigans, and shower smashing. ...more
